The Pembroke is Washington DC’s newest dining sensation. The venue was rated 2.5 out 4 in March 2019 by the Washington Post and was quoted “The Pembroke makes Dupont Circle a destination again”.
Designed by world-renowned Martin Brudnizki, The Pembroke is complemented by a seasonal outdoor terrace and features an edifying blend of cream-paneled walls adorned with playful artwork, plush velvet plush banquettes in a mix of blue and coral tones and beautiful marble tabletops.
At its center is the beautifully-appointed marble bar, a classic cocktail bar reminiscent of the 1950s, serving a range of spirits and the finest wines.
The Contemporary American Cuisine menu is prepared with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The venue is open for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner.
We appreciate you being open late for post theater dining
Aesthetically stunning restaurant part of the Doyle Collection DuPont Hotel. Food, Service and ambiance by far superior to any other restaurant in the area!
Good afternoon, Thank you for your review of The Pembroke! I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed your visit to our restaurant, and that both the service and ambiance exceeded your expectations. We would love to see you again soon. Best wishes, Taylor Bradley
This was my first visit to the newly-renovated space that is now the Pembroke. The decor is tastefully mid-century modern, the layout offers different seating options, and the overall ambiance is warm and elegant. Our meal was very good--salads are fresh and inventive, and my pappardelle with mushrooms and truffles was delicious if a bit underseasoned. The half portion was more than enough for a satisfying dinner. The best part of our experience was our server, Matthew--what a gem! Perfectly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and wine, excellent conversationalist, just formal enough and yet charming and friendly. I will be returning to The Pembroke.
It is a lovely restaurant, and the service was warm and pleasant. The food, however, was skimpy for the price. When has Eggs Benedict ever been served other than on an English muffin??? -- Never before in my extensive experience. Also, it arrived with set yolks rather than soft yolks, as I had specifically requested. I'm afraid I would not recommend The Pembroke to a friend, as the value was insufficient.
Love it! The service was remarkable and the food was delicious.
Amazing meal!!! Beautiful spot that has been re-envisioned, amazing reason to go back to Dupont for a trendy night out!
The service was excellent! I’ll try something different on the menu next time!
Excellent experience. The service was excellent and attentive. We were two adults and a 2 year-old and were accommodated with a high chair, crayons and paper for her to paint. The food was delicious (octopus, burratta, steak frites, apple tarte tatin, oh and the bread!). I’ve already recommended it to friend and colleagues. The ambience and decoration are nice and the glass wall overlooks the street at Dupont circle, so that’s nice too. Host and waiters and everyone were very nice.
Slow service, drinks took 25 minutes!
Outstanding menu and wine list. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Very nice patio when the weather is helpful.

Service was slow.

Great ambiance and food but our service was horrible, and I'm never one to complain about service unless its REALLY bad. Our server either never put our food in or the kitchen lost the ticket, he only realized after the food didn't come out for nearly an hour. Then we had to re-order with him and he didn't comp the food or drinks at all for the mistake. My mom ordered coffee which never came, the list goes on. I love this spot but was really disappointed in the service I received recently.

It took 20 minutes for a waiter to attend to us after we were sat down so that was less than ideal but the food was great when we finally ate!

Delicious food. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and personable wait. We liked that the manager comes around to check to see if everything is OK. Tables are spaced far enough apart so that conversation is possible.

Service was great, place beautiful. Food was good but could have been a bit warmer. The eggs and pancakes were both on the cold side

Finally a good restaurant in DuPont Circle! We were anticipating a good meal and experience and we were not disappointed. The service was top notch and the food very good. The only slight compliant would be the size of the two top dining tables — little bistro tables are not conducive to comfortable dining.
We had a perfect evening! The food was delicious, the service perfect. Joe our waiter made it an even more enjoyable night! Thank you for an memorable evening!

Very nice meal and service...the octopus appetizer was the highlight of the evening...only two downsides, we were charged $32 for a pasta dish that was listed on menu for $20 and our little leftovers were never brought back. Such a shame, this could have been a 5* experience.
Great eggs Benedict!
The decor was beautiful and elegant, the service was wonderful and the food was excellent. I had the pancakes and they were some of the best I've had in DC. I am a tough pancake critic and these ones passed the test. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and I am looking forward to going there again myself. The prices are a bit high for the food, but I think it's worth it. The mimosas are made with Moet so they're $20 each, so instead of a mimosa I'd go with a more reasonably priced bloody mary.
Dear Mari, Thank you for your kind review of The Pembroke! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your brunch with us. We'd love to welcome you back for some more pancakes, or dinner with us, soon! Best wishes, Taylor Bradley
Beautiful space service and food
Wonderful ambiance but it can be very noisy. We requested a quiet table and they were most accommodating. We went during the week -- have been on weekend, very energetic! Great drinks, food, guidance from the staff. Will return, will recommend.

Great server. Problem in kitchen but he more than made up for it in attentiveness and service
The restaurant is beautiful and everyone was very welcoming and attentive. Matthew was wonderful, from guiding us through the menu to making us feel like very special and cared for. Drinks and food were delicious and modified to our special dietary restrictions (gluten free and lactose free). A fantastic evening!
Hi! What a wonderful review, thank you so much for the kind words! Matthew is great, and so glad his warmth was felt throughout your time here. Please let me know when you'll be in again, we'd love to say thank you in person. Warm Regards, Matt Rafferty
I took a friend there for a belated birthday celebration. She loved it. We were served a complimentary glass of champagne in addition to the cocktails we ordered. We shared pumpkin soup and a prawn cocktail. She had steak frites and I had the lamb tagine, and we both took doggy bags home. Matthew, our waiter, was outstanding. And the hostess or manager came by to ask if everything was to our liking. This is the second time I’ve been there, and the first was equally good. And we could hear ourselves talk!
Hi! Wanted to say, thank you SO much for this warm, wonderful review. Glad you were in good hands with Matt and your friend loved everything. This means a lot - please let me know when you'll be in again, we'd love to say thank you in person. Warm Regards, Matt Rafferty
Pembroke in the Dupont Hotel offers creative wonderful food in a lovely setting with views of Dupont Circle from stylish terrace. The restaurants high ceilings and dramatic atrium brings the outdoors inside.
A wonderful diverse menu with fresh Dover sole, Oysters and fresh salads, sides and daily soups will make you want to keep coming back. The recently hired new chef is a real find and the servers and skilled management are professional and anticipate your every need. The full bar is also a big attraction as well with impressive wine list. Dupont is fortunate to have another go to restaurant centrally located right off the circle.
The staff was friendly but professional. Service was excellent.
We had two delightful meals at the Pembroke during our stay. The breakfast was outstanding. The omelette and eggs Benedict were delicious and our server was gracious. The decor is well done.
The food was tremendous and plentiful. The service was outstanding polite and attentive.
It was a spectacular dining experience for my wife and me. Delicious food, impeccable service and an ambiance which would be very hard to beat!
Service makes the meal here. Outstanding. Food is very good too with a good selection on the menu. Matthew, our server and the staff at the desk: A plus.
The restaurant is absolutely and a wonderful place for a business lunch or breakfast. It’s in a hotel so reservations are recommended as it can get busy with hotel guests. The patio is nice when the weather cooperates. The service can be slow - the staff is always polite and courteous but will bring you a fork with your oatmeal or you have to ask for your check more than once and so on. It’s not terribly service but if you’re coming here for a power hour, try the bar.
Too pricey, but very nice atmosphere and food definitely good
The service, food and ambience were great! Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back.
The service was exceptional. In general everything was great
My food was great however, my friend's pancakes were extremely dry and another friend's omelet was under cooked. My friend with the omelet did let the staff know and they happily cooked her another one. The drink list was a bit high and my friends who drank didn't love them. Other than that, I love the restaurant and the feel of it. I would probably go back.
The brunch was just amazing - it’s the best in DC. Everything is prepared with thought and with fresh ingredients, the staff is very attentive and speedy with service. Not to mention the restaurant is just gorgeous to dine in. Five stars!
Absolutely lovely setting but my salad (arugula w/chicken) was by turns very dry (the chicken) and soupy (the greens). Way too expensive not to be top notch. This is the 2nd meal I've had at the Pembroke. The first -- a brunch -- was much better.
Sat near window. Good view. Service with a smile. Good chia, coffee, juice drink, and delicious pastries and rolls
The staff did a wonderful job making me feel special on my Birthday!
