Found two hairs in my food. First time it was in a starter and we decided to let that go and not mention it to the serve. My main dish came and had another hair (most likely from a different head). We decided to tell the server about the main dish. Don’t think I️ will be back. Great service but can’t get over the hair in two dishes.

Wanted to love this place but couldn’t. Pros: gave us comp dessert for hubbys bday cons: tables too close and sat others too close. We Are talking...server was talking to the table next to us, her butt was resting on our table close! Server not attentive (poured all our own wine). Food was just OK.

Awesome food! Great pork chop, lamb shank, steak frittes. Bishop Ranch salad is big and tasty. Great desserts. One of the best meals we’ve had in a while.

My overall experience was great. The only complaint I had was how slowly my cocktails were prepared. I had to stand at the bar for quite sometime. I even had an employee come by who asked if I had been helped, which I did but all I was doing was waiting and waiting. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. I will come again.

Always can count on the Peasant and the Pear to be the perfect location for either lunch or dinner with friends. Delicious food - always! Excellent service. The only complaint was the closeness of the table.
Still a winner!!

The service was outstanding. Food was crazy good. I had Prawns El Diablo - spicey but mouth-watering. Presentation was beautiful too. Husband had their signature chicken salad sandwich. It was huge! But he said it was too good to leave any and finished it. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our lunch on the patio next to the fountain. Lovely.

We have been to this place a number of times - it's a lovely setting and always good food and reasonably good service. Unfortunately, this time we were quite disappointed. The food came out seemingly partially cooked - half cold and half ok. This happened on both the appetizer and main courses. The server was quite apologetic, but it was obvious when the plates were set on the table the food was not prepared properly. We should not have had to call her back to request it to be cooked completely.

Like I said - disappointing and not sure we will be back.

If you're going for a special occasion make sure to tell them in person. They obviously don't read their OpenTable special requests...had to remind them at the end of dinner and they had no clue.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary last weekend. Overall it was very good but there were a couple of frustrating things - first of all, my steak was WAY undercooked. I ended up taking most of it home and having steak and eggs the next day because I just couldn’t stomach eating it that rare (we didn’t see our server for ages so I couldn’t complain). Second of all our server wasn’t the best, she disappeared for long periods and we had to ask for things like refills which she should have offered us anyway. On the plus side, the rest of the meal and my husbands meal was delicious, and the cocktails were lovely. Maybe it was just an off night, so I’d definitely try here again.

Best brunch we've had in ages! From the mimosas to the eclectic menu, we thoroughly enjoyed this tucked-away gem in Danville. Lovely quiet ambience and classy decor, scrumptious handcrafted cocktails, and the friendliest servers. Fresh greens, perfect quiche... it was difficult deciding among the entrees. This was the first time ever that I went to a restaurant, had a meal, and then immedaitely made a reservation for another meal at the same place. We have been using OpenTable to find new restaurants -- but after the amazing brunch here, we want to try their dinner menu next week.

I must admit I've only eaten exceptional meals, mostly dinners at the Peasant & Pear. We had expertly prepared Brussels sprouts and calamari for starters, split a refreshing Ceasar salad; perfect salmon and tender/hearty lamb shanks for entrees; and pear tart for dessert. Caymus has returned to the wine list so we ordered a delightful bottle of 2104 cab. As we finished the last glasses of Caymus, we realized the world was once again properly aligned!!!

We'd heard a lot about Rodney Worth's restaurants, but unfortunately, it was a nightmare. When we arrived for our 7:00 reservation, there was virtually no one in the dining room. The hostess, who turned out to be the manager, said "We're a little behind, so we aren't quite ready for you. Please go up to the bar and we'll call you when your table is ready." I looked around the empty dining room and couldn't figure why we weren't seated immediately, but decided to cut them some slack.
After a 10-minute wait, the hostess found us and led us to a table right next to the service door, where the waiters came out with the food, and adjacent to the computer where they enter orders. There were at least 15 better tables sitting empty, so we decided to request a better
table and were moved.
We had a great waitress, Diana, who along with the creme brulee is the only reason this is a one-star, rather than a zero star, review. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. The courses came out slowly, but again, we let it ride because Diana was so good.
My lamb shank was good, but the polenta was so drowned in juice that I couldn't find it.
The real problem was my wife's pork chop, which was so overdone it tasted like cardboard. We've been married 46 years and this was only the second time she's ever sent something back. We expected a new pork chop to be delivered, with the promised "pink" middle. Instead, the manager was defiant and disrespectful. She arrived with the menu and asked my wife what she wanted to order. When my wife said, "I'd just like the pork chop the way it was described, rather than over-cooked," the manager said, "that's the way we make it, that's the way you're going to get it." So my wife ordered a chicken salad. It arrived 15 minutes later, with the chicken on a separate plate.
Then the bill came. We were charged for two pork chops, and they also mis-charged us for our wine. When we pointed this out, Diana apologized and had the bill corrected.

I have been to this restaurant for dinner several times. Generally, is just for regular dinning out. This week we were celebrating a wedding anniversary - very small group. The salmon-special was divine!! They also offered a complementary one-person desert with a candle light and a "happy anniversary" nicely designed on the plate. I enjoyed every time I went there. However, I have not been there for any of the other events mentioned above (i.e. lunch, brunch, tea party, etc).

Service was painfully slow. Calamari appetizer was inedible. Cappuccino was undrinkable. Fountain drink arrived flat and replaced with another. Brunch entries were good actually. But, considering the experience as a whole, not something we'd do again on a Sunday.

We had an early dinner and expected too much as we had heard rave reviews on "Check Please Bay Area". The food was good but not anything really special. The Kalua pork was dry and the order got mixed up so that was not so good. The pear dessert was over baked also although a good flavor. It was quite expensive overall.

The Peasant and Pear is one of the best restaurants in Danville! Our dinners were fantastic!!! We had Calamari Fritti and Pork Belly for starters and Salmon and Italian Lamb Shank for entrees. The salmon was perfectly prepared and the lamb shank was very flavorful and tender. We finished with the Warm Pear Tart and Cheesecake for dessert. Both were exceptional.

To be honest we are a little bit dissapointed. Our waitress was kinda rude till toward the end when she knows that tipping is coming. My lamb shank meal was greasy .. gave me a stomach ache afterwards. We ordered medium rare steak and came out medium well. Our table for seven was wiggly. We live locally and haven't been there for 7 years and were with company from out of town so we didn't want to make them uncomfortable with complaints.
I don't think we are coming back anytime soon.

Made reservtions with the expectation that this was going to be a knock your socks off place and was a bit disappointed. The food was good, service was good but for the cost of the meal we were disappointed that there wasn't more creativity. We found the food well prepared but nothing that we could not have gotten closer to home for less money.
