This is a cute little restaurant that I decided to try to visit because I'd seen an online review. The food was good but unfortunately it took 35 minutes to be served and they weren't even that busy. When the food arrived it wasn't even that hot and I just felt like our Server was occupied with other things. They did give my wife a free dessert because her potatoes were cold but that should not of been the case in the first place.
My wife is also a part-time chef and a stickler for serving food hot to our clients and expect the same when I go out To eat. I would recommend it because I always give a restaurant to chances unless the experience was terrible which this was not. So I will give them another chance in the future..
We used to enjoy P&P for dinner. Our service was awful the other night, more like nonexistent. Not a single member of staff smiled - they all looked miserable. Our food was okay, it's been better in the past. I don't know if this place has had their run and is done or if they need to hire better.
French Onion soup on a rainy night can’t be beat!!
They are so accommodating! Saved our table when we were 30-40 min late due to a late show. Great food and drinks. A nice place to relax and enjoy one's company.
Everything was great. Noise level high. Individuals at nearby tables talked loudly and created an even noisier situation
Went with my husband for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. I started off with a blood orange tini and it was really good. Nice orange taste and balanced with the alcohol which wasn't overpowering, but you knew it was there for sure once you were done! My husband had the diablo shrimp. Pretty good portion size and taste. He thought it was hot, but I didn't really taste the spice. I had the pork chop. It was nice and tender and the portion size of the chop was decent. However, the menu says you get sweet potato puree with it. I'm pretty sure I rec'd regular mashed potatoes as they were white. In addition, I got like two tablespoons worth that was hiding underneath the meat. Maybe they were running out?? What I tasted was good, but not very much of it for the $28 price tag. We shared dessert which was the lemon cheesecake. The taste was great, but again, the portion size was VERY small for $9. It was maybe a third the size of a Cheesecake Factory slice. Pretty on the plate, but it was like a child sized serving. We'll be back for the cocktails and maybe try lunch and see if the portion sizes are more in line for what you pay.
Consistently good food and always good service. Best of the Pear Restaurants in the Worth family of restaurants.
The meat entree’s like steak and pork chops were either dry or burnt. Fondue is always a must though from now on.

Upset that open table menu was not up to date and was looking forward to Beef Wellington which was online but I guess not on current menu.
Filet mignon was excellent with recommended wine pairing.
A bit difficult to find in the dark. Food was good, but a bit on the expensive side. Parking was also a challenge.
The servers have been wonderful at lunch time! It is one of our go to lunch spots.
We had an incredible dining experience from the time we walked in till we left. The food was excellent, and the timing sequence between appetizers and main course was perfect. What made it best was the waitress she was attentive but not overbearing, there when something was neede. Will be back. Jim

Original menu, like the bone marrow appetizer that was very tasty on toasted bread...lamb shank was so delicious with lemon zest and capers, really make the richness meld in your mouth!
Food was good - my pork chop was a little dry but everyone else said their food was really good. Service was slow! Not sure why, but for some reason our waitress was way more attentive to other tables The 2 top next to us turned over twice while we were there.
We have had some amazing meals at Peasant and Pear as well as The Little Pear and Prickly Pear. Tonight, however, was a miss. The restaurant was very busy and it took the waitress a long time to come over and acknowledge us. She did finally and then made it over to us to offer us a cocktail. When we said we were ready to order at that point, her attitude completely changed. Her smile disappeared, eye contact was dropped, and she was all business. I over heard her describe the specials to other tables she had, not to us. Another person delivered our meal and my steak was medium well when I asked for it medium rare.
She came over once to ask how our meal was and then we never saw her. We considered having dessert and then figured we had had enough so we asked for the check. Our dishes were still on the table when she dropped the check and it was only then she cleared some, not all of them. Never thanked us, just asked twice if we were sure we didn't want dessert. Then, hovered to collect the check when we left. Really disappointed.
Went here for first time with some friends. Pricey but food is outstanding with interesting use of "pears" in many of their dishes. Lamb shank fell of the bone. yum.
Our server was nice, but not very attentive. We had to call her over to the table more than once rather than her checking on us. Overall...great place.
We had a variety of tastes within the four of us. Two being mostly vegetarian and the others open to all of the menu. We tried a variety of meals and ended up sharing a bit. Everything was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was fun and definitely on top of all our needs.

The staff was fabulous, and the food was well worth the drive. But it was so noisy in the room we were sitting in that in order to have a conversation and be heard, you had to shout across the table. That was the only downfall.
Food was excellent as always. Server was very pleasant - not as attentive as I would expect. Possibly they were short on staff - don’t know. Highly recommend!
The meat was too tough and hard to chew
We went to Peasant and the Pear on a Saturday night and had a great dinner!! The cocktails were good, pours generous and bartender and our waitress (brunette) very friendly. We tend to forget about this place as we check out new Danville restaurants. We hadn’t been for dinner in several years. My filet with Cab reduction sauce was outstanding!! The Ahi Tuna app was really good. The artichoke soup was great.
For dessert we had the Afogotto (expresso over vanilla ice cream) great portion to share and in a wide bowl so you can easily share. We will be coming back soon.

Peasant and The Pear was slightly difficult to find as it is not off the main road. In fact, you walk down a cute pathway with some outdoor tables and greenery. However, it was worth getting lost for. We were greeted and sat as soon as we entered. Stephanie, our server, was amazing. Knew how to be attentive without being disruptive and was always present when we needed something. She was very friendly and even took time to have a quick conversation with us. Food was delicious! My filet was cooked perfectly and the Lamb Shank is a must try. Will be returning!

For dinner, my friend and I both ordered the mushroom raviolis and I was very disappointed. The dish was tasteless and should be taken off the menu. When you spend $20+ on an entree, it should be good. I would not recommend it to anyone. My husband ordered the lamb shank and it was wonderful. Our friend ordered the mushroom pizza and it was good. This was my first time for dinner here. My lunch experiences at the Peasant and the Pear have always been really nice. I will stick to lunch here in the future.

We always have a wonderful time when dining at The Peasant and the Pear. It is a charming place; very warm and inviting. The food is delicious and you can make a substitution for your side dish without worry of being reprimanded. The service is always good but this time it was outstanding. Stephanie made our evening perfect; and, without being told - simply listening to our conversation and toasts, she realized we were celebrating a birthday, so, brought a birthday treat to the table at the end of our meal. She epitomized customer service! This is a true neighborhood gem with friendly staff and charming, inviting customers. Take a chance and visit with the guests at the table next to you; we did and enjoyed a wonderful exchange of New Year Cheer.
