This was our first time here. Had seen several comments about being loud. The bar area was, but at our table it was very normal for a restaurant. We could talk normally about hear each other fine. We ordered the blue crab dip. It was very tasty. Our food came out very quickly, mushroom stuffed salmon and Parmesan sole. Both came with asparagus and mashed potato’s. Both were delicious. We both cleaned our plates. This will definitely be a place we will return to.
Great meal and good service.
You don’t need to head to the Country Club Plaza to experience fine seafood dining...Pearl Tavern is second to none! And the Crush cocktails...oh my!
All around very good experience for a date. Was a little crowed but staff did well getting everyone seated in a timely matter. Drinks were made well, little on the pricey side for alcohol, bar staff very nice and polite. Food was great in taste and reasonable on price. Overall very pleased for first time eating there.
Table for two was too small to enjoy. Hush Puppies came out burnt. Food was warm and just okay at best. Waiter not the friendliest. Felt food was way overpriced for other seafood restaurants. Enjoy the summit restaurant up north but did not enjoy this at all.
Great food, people and atmosphere. Exceptional value for the money!
Valentine’s Day dinner. Overall it was very good. Disappointed on how close some of the high top tables were and people trying to get around us was not very convenient with people bumping into us. But the food and service was great! Would still recommend.
Delicious! We had prompt, friendly service and the menu is full of amazing seafood choices. Started with a Crab cake which was easily in my top five best, and a dozen Oysters which were freshly shucked and definitely winners. Mahi Mahi and Chilean Sea Bass for entrees and they were cooked to perfection with a splendid array of accoutrements on each plate. Pearl Tavern is a must visit if you enjoy fresh seafood!
The food was pretty good. I suspect most waitresses there are pretty good, but ours was disappointing. She gave us our food and we didn't see her again until we were ready for the check. I would go again if a friend wanted to go, but I would not opt to go again myself.
The food was on point! This place is not your typical tavern & the service was very good!!! Well worth a second trip!
Very open concept which means very loud. Add to that the volume of the music playing and it is unnecessarily loud. The food was good, but expensive. And if you’re going to pay that amount, you would expect them to get the order correct—especially when there are only 2 people placing orders. They did not. So, I had to sit and wait while my wife received her main course: and we’re not talking about waiting a few minutes. It was at least 10 minutes before my correct order arrived. For the money spent, that’s incredibly poor treatment.
Valentines Day Lunch
We both the meal very much. Pearl Tavern never disappoints.
We had the blue crab dip, shrimp dinner, salmon stuffed with
mushrooms, asparagus, Yukon mashed and split the key lime pie.
Jamie was our server, and she did an excellent job taking care of us.
Our waiter was busy and didn’t check on us as often as we expected he would. Took 10 minutes to get a drink from the bar. Salmon dish was undercooked. Overall though, we enjoyed our experience and plan to return.
Very disappointing. We were a party of 2 at a table for six that they tried to separate with vases of flowers. We ordered before the 4 people next to us even sat down but they got their food first. We were told that they ran out of mashed potatoes but the people next to us got mashed potatoes.
They did comp part of our meal and gave us free dessert. The food was very good.
I am not sure what this restaurant wants to be. It seems like they are going for upscale but it does not hit the mark.
Would go back for lunch maybe probably not dinner.
This place is amazing. Hint: might want to make reservations, as they are extremely busy
Have been many times and always great experience. We’ve had menu items and items from fresh fish list. Appetizers and desserts are very good.
Really enjoyed our evening. The food was excellent and the waitress was great. Do feel prices little higher than we get at other restaurants like thus
The food was awesome and the service was impeccable.
When the crowd builds you cannot hear one another talk. Other than that things could not of been better.
Great food great service
The staff was a bit slow getting us checked in but once seated the service was quick and efficient. The food was exceptional, delivered quickly and accurately. The ambiance was modern yet noise levels were low and conversation was easily accomplished.
Definitely looking forward to another visit and trying out more menu items.
Great food and service. Knowledgeable staff. Salmonwas awesome!!!
Great food and service!
My wife and I pick Pearl over M&S, the Capital grill and the Bristol for best seafood. Great variety, very fresh and tasteful presentation. We will not hesitate to return .
Amazing food, great ambience, good value. I plan on going back many times. Happy hour is a great value with many menu options
We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We were about 15 minutes early & got right in. The blue crab dip was delicious and so was my blackened mahi mahi. The broccoli was just a little undercooked for me. I know that some people like it almost raw, but I like mine tender. The potatoes were yummy.
Reservations are needed for at least Friday and Saturday night because it was standing room waiting for an hour to get a table. The oyster bar gentleman was incredibly helpful for me, as it was my first time eating oysters. However, most of the bartenders seemed down or stressed about being there and it took a while to get a drink at the bar once we found a spot to sit. I would certainly go back! 100%!
Amazing place for the ambiance. The hostess was struggling and gave our reservation away to someone else with the same first name. We were still seated on time, but there was another couple facing the same situation who had their table handed off more than once. The chilean Sea Bass was amazing. Will definitely return
We had dinner with friends for our annual Valentine dinner. The food was very good. The service was exceptional. Noise level was a little high but "tavern" is in the name. Will definitely go back.
Excellent food as always. Love that you started serving toast with the smoked salmon (instead of the fried pita).
Very nice upscale tavern with a great menu and "catch of the day" choices of fresh seafood flown in daily. There's a lot of seating and it gets very crowded so getting to and from your table or to the bar can be a little challenging, and you're sitting pretty close to the people around you. But, the food is wonderful and the service is outstanding so don't let the popularity of Pearl keep you away.
Great place for happy hr drinks.. We were not impressed with the happy hr food, but think its because we were expecting something similar to Third Street Social. Great Place though and would highly recommend
Food was good, a bit overpriced, but selection of seafood was awesome. Service was really good.
The restrooms were not available. Tables on both sides of us came and went twice, one person in our party gave up and didn’t eat. Food is over priced for what we did get. I had high hopes for a good seafood restaurant. KC remains landlocked.
Not up to usual standard. Problems with rest room plumbing a problem also
Food was good, it was a little loud, but overall a good experience!
Food is absolutely delicious, the price is a little high, and the noise level is way too high. Need to invest in furnishings that will help absorb some of the sound.
Great local place for lunch w/your best friend. Menu is wide & full of variety. Clam chowder and ceviche are the best around town. Wine prices are good w/many choices. Happy Hour crowds are loud & busy so go w/a small group.
Wonderful atmosphere! Samantha was a great waitress!
