The Patio on Lamont Ratings and Reviews
We were seated without a wait upon arrival, the staff were all very attentive (our orders were taken and food was served by a few different servers to - I assume - get us our food as quickly as possible), and the food was very good. Ordered and would recommend the fried chicken sandwich, which was well-seasoned, had the perfect amount of crispy bite/crunch without being too heavy, and was plenty filling for one person. The parmesan truffle fries were good but nothing spectacular - would've been nice if they were a little crunchier upon arrival, but still fairly satiafying. Great ambience for brunch, and super dog friendly. It's a great place to bring a dog if you have one, or just to look at others' cute foods over food.
Service was poor and slow. Food mediocre, so many flies that we could not enjoy our lunch because of swatting at all the flies. The noise level was extreme. I had heard such good things about the patio and really like the one in Mission Hills. Therefore this was a disappointment.
I love the ambiance here and the food is usually on point but my Cesar salad was very small and my chicken dish was over salted. My friend got the salmon and also felt that his dish was over salted. I do have to say that I love the atmosphere and that the patio is dog friendly but unfortunately my dinner was not as satisfying.
Love that they are dog friendly. Went on Monday for all day happy hour. There was a dog at every table and busy. Glad we had a reservation. Had the burata, beet salad and Turkey burger. Turkey burger was expensive and least favorite. Server not so great but the manager seemed to be helping out so we did not have an issue.
The atmosphere was fun and the bar eclectic. Bottomless mimosas at brunch were well made and we never had to ask for refills. The only thing that is an opportunity is that there were A LOT of flies on the patio, which was a nuisance. I would recommend overhead fans and/or strategically placed light fly zappers. The food was good and the staff very attentive.
Flies....flies....flies. I don't care that it is the season and even though I appreciated that the server tried hard to make us comfortable....I will not be back for awhile. It ruined our evening. Not 1 or 2, but constant 3 to 5 buzzing about landing on our food and drink. Figure it out and don't make your customers pay the same for less the experience. Food is great and so are the peeps that work there...but it isn't enough to compensate for the distaste!
This unassuming restaurant is a gem. Every time I travel to San Diego I make sure I take some friends. The food is outstanding and the bartenders know how to make a good Old Fashioned. Highlights were definitely the Ahi Tacos, the brussel sprouts, steak and blue cheese flatbread. The service was OUTSTANDING, from the hostess who changed our table, to the bussers who were very attentive, and especially our amazing waitress. The meals were excellent and portions were generous.
The Patio is our new local favorite. Every time a delight! The setting is cozy, the service superb, the cuisine delicious.
We would like to send a special shout out to the hostess on Sunday evenings. I asked her for her name, but have already forgotten. Melonie maybe? Any way she is the BEST. Professional, yet very sweet ... making us feel welcome each visit.
We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. We were staying in Mission Bay and found you on a Google search for pet friendly places.I was so impressed with everything from the staff attentiveness to the incredible food. I was with my 3 kids and puppy. They gave Sadie he made treats and even a blanket when she got cold. My kids had coloring menu as well. We ordered The burrata salad, ahi tacos, mussels and pepporoni and goat cheese pizza for my son. He said it was the best pizza in the world. My girls were so impressed with the ahi tacos and my mussels were better than ever! For dessert we had the Elvis Flip which was delicious :) They also have valet parking on weekends. They thought of everything! I will defiantly recommend your restaurant to anyone traveling your way. Thanks for amazimg dining experince with my family :)
