The Patio on Lamont Ratings and Reviews
We had a great dinner at The Patio on Lamont. The wine and drink menu is extensive but the food menu was fairly small and personally, I love that.
I have only two comments/suggestions.
While the waitress was fabulous, she was not familiar with gluten free at all. (I have Celiac). It was obvious the kitchen / chefs were very familiar with it because they adapted my meal for me and they did a great job. My suggestion is to train the wait staff on allergies.
Another comment, and I'm probably in the minority here, is that they are a bit too dog friendly. In the inside patio there were several diners with dogs on their laps while they and other guests were dining. We were lucky enough the sit inside because I don't really care to dine with dogs, especially dogs that might shed in my food. There was also a dog in that same area that kept barking. I would suggest that there should be limits on "dog friendly" and if a dog is barking or otherwise being very disruptive then something should be done.
Aside from that, the place is great and I will go back. And sit in the no dog section. : )
They changed their menu entirely and hardly have any Breakfast menu items. They literally have only 5 breakfast items. Not very vegetarian friendly any more. Being in San Diego where there are so many nice places with Big Brunch Menus, i will not be going back to this place. I am not happy but I loved this place until they changed their menu which I think was bad decision and even the waiters there think so too.
They called 15 minutes to the birthday party reservation to cancel on 13 people. Unfortunately, there had been a water break that day and they were forced to close. I understand, but I asked for a call back from the manager and never received one. The hostess explained that they would be able to accomediate us at another time, but everything was such a hassle- no thanks!
The Patio on Lamont was dissappointing. I was there on a double date, celebrating a friend's engagement. The atmosphere was busy and loud. The waitress never smiled or checked in on us to see how everything was. She provided the bare minimum in terms of wait service. The food was okay, but not worth the price. The dishes were very heavy and the menu did not offer much variety. For >$100, I expected better.
The Patio on Lamont offers a consistently wide-ranging menu. The ambiance of the outdoor, enclosed patio is very pleasant, especially for San Diego. We included a family of three friends visiting from Japan and they were delighted to find both sushi and American dishes which they enjoyed. The appetizers, salads, entree's, and deserts offer a sufficient choice for many palates.
Too loud, people drunk near our table at 11:30 am. Food average, nothing special. The cinnamon bun was dry on the corners and not that good. We met friends from Phx there, we are from Pasadena. Family in San Diego recommended this place. Not one I would recommend.
The place was beautiful and the food was great. From the host to even the manager of the restaurant or I believe he was the manager came by to ask us how our food was. My friend tried ordering the bourbon Belgian waffles but apparently the oven wasn't properly making the dish. That's totally fine! We honestly didn't mind my friend just got the banana fosters French toast like I did! (Was a great dish). However, if there was one thing I could change from the start of my experience at this restaurant it would been the server. I believe his name was Matt could be wrong. From the start of serving us he was very cold and honestly kinda rude. He claimed that I should fix my ID card because of the small bent I had in it, however, I told him that no bar, restaurant, nor 21+ location has ever told me that they couldn't take me card. He simply replied with a, "ohh". It wasn't so much what he told me but how he said it as it was the first thing he told me upon arriving and taking my order which took me a little back as I was shocked. Having him as a waiter didn't ruin how we think of this location as we've heard great things. We'll definitely be back I just hope to get another waiter next time.
We went to The Patio for Father's Day and really enjoyed our brunch! Pork belly eggs benedict and breakfast flatbread were unusual and really delicious. Nice twist on classics! Service was good and food was delivered within 20 minutes of being seated. Cocktails were also yum!
My husband & I sat inside the Patio ( which means not in cover patio that they are known for), the upstairs inside was very nice but got very noisy with a 12 top group of guys at one long table... the room was very small. Patio area has a much cooler vibe & open area to sit & dine. This is still a great place, staff is awesome, food & drinks are always great!
