The Patio on Lamont Ratings and Reviews
Over all we enjoyed the food very much. One of my friends did not like dogs which I had not known . We seemed to be surrounded by them. Also it was a bit too loud for a good conversation. Service was great. I live about 2 blocks from Patio on Goldfinch so will go there more often but this was a nice change.
The Patio on Lamont st is nothing short of AMAZING. Been here a few times and I was never disappointed. The food is like no other, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is fit for any occasion from casual to romantic. I've introduced a lot if my friends here and what I like to do is order almost everything on the small plate menu and everyone just share plates...that way you get to taste a bunch of different things. My last visit I introduced my gf to this place and between her and I we ordered about 10 things from the small plate menu during happy hour and they took out the food in groups. Every time a new round of food arrived her eyes lit up in excitement and then followed by instant gratification once she got to chow down...that is, after she took pictures of everything. The presentation of each item is very artistic which makes the food look even more appetizing. Come here with a group of friends, sit back, relax, enjoy their food and excellent array of beer/wine/liquor and you could easily spend the rest of the night here in pure bliss.
first and foremost be very very clear as far as what a cork fee involves, we were sadly disappointed as once again we pay the $15 for a cork fee and had to basically pour our own wine and take care of ourselves throughout the evening the food was absolutely phenomenal the service was sadly disappointing we were forgotten about,Michael was more interested in being a bartender than taking care of his customers and the manager on duty couldn't give a hoot about anybody but himself it's very sad it's an incredible restaurant but its just another PB building without good service, however, you all may learn a few basic things from Trevor, who is a very caring soul
This seemed like it might be an interesting place for Mother's Day brunch with my aunt, neither of us having been there before but having heard of it. It wasn't really cracked up for it, though. The noise level really was loud and we could barely hold a conversation.
The menu has a few interesting items on it but the food wasn't anything special. I tried the kobe burger, which was too greasy to even been considered kobe-style. My aunt tried the chicken sandwich and my wife had the smoked pork belly benedict. Both said their food was fair. Oh, and it wasn't all brought out at the same time. My aunt's food arrived a full 10 minutes before ours. Their drink list was odd so I gave their "man-mosa" a try. If a mimosa on ice with rum and bacon in it doesn't sound too appetizing to you, it isn't. I wasn't able to drink half of it.
All in all, it might be worth visiting again, but not for a special occasion. My recommendation would be guarded: It's an interesting place but can be pretty loud and a lot of people bring their dogs to get discounts on their drinks (Ok, that might not be the reason but I can't understand why people would otherwise take their non-service dogs to restaurants).
We went on Sunday for Brunch and we had a great time! We made a reservation in advance and while some restaurants seem to overlook that and STILL make you wait, this one did not! We got seated right away. The server was great, very attentive and the food came out just the way it was asked.
I would go here mainly for the food . Service was good, place is clean, food presentation excellent, drinks are pricey. No parking, valet is $3 which is not bad but parking lot is just across the street. Why can't customers just park there themselves? It's like a bar with good food, it was noisy. You shouldn't go here if you are planning on a romantic dinner. I will be back though
We are in San Diego for a conference and staying a couple of miles from the restaurant. Luckily we had a rental car, upon arrival the valet was extremely nice and accommodating. We brought a bottle of wine and started with some well cocktails. I had an excellent Old Fashioned! The menu had two portion sizes so out group of three decided to have a couple of small plates and one large plate. The ahi and crab tower was beautiful and was excellent. The short rib was perfect, as was the steak flatbread. The cheese and charcuterie plate was what is to be expected at every nice restaurant. The server was very patient with us and explained the menu and portion sizes so we didn't over/under order. He asked when we wanted to pour the wine, and how we wanted the plates to come out. Nothing was put on the table until we had finished our courses and we did not feel rushed. We will be back. Thank you.
Or server never checked on our table. We never received water or drink refills. waist never checked on our table except to bark at us to order & to drop off the check.
The food was great, but if you we robbing about having a couple mimosas to go with it, find somewhere else to go.
Love sitting outside, but be aware that it is "dog friendly." Saw at least 3 dogs that night. We were seated inside at a corner table... perfect.... nice a quiet for lots of conversation.
Food was good, as always. Our first time to dinner, our 4th time to the restaurant. lunch and brunch are equally good. would definitely recommend the small plates to share.. the octopus was tender and perfectly done! Best steak and blue cheese flatbreat --- so tender! Loved the pork shank with the delicious risotto! We had such good service, too Brought a couple who had not been there and they loved it!
My brunch was not a whole lot better quality food than what I have gotten at diners like Dennys.
I ordered my eggs scrambled soft, emphasizing the word Soft twice, and received the same rubbery hard scrambled eggs my fellow diners got who made no custom request.
My Short Ribs Hash had the requisite potatoes and onions but very little Short Rib meat.
I had heard such great things about the Patio on Goldfinch, and was very disappointed with the fare at this bunch service. Maybe dinner food is better, but this Brunch was worth avoiding.
Great atmosphere, we were seated promptly and our waiter was very friendly and outgoing.
We had cocktails and wine.. Was surprised by their wine selection... They have wine from the Guadalupe Valley in Baja and a Croatian one too!
Every thing we ordered from their small plate selection was astounding. although Their ahí tower could have used more seasoning ....
We stayed for around 2 hrs and people kept shuffling in... We enjoyed it very much!
We always have a great time at The Patio! Our waiter was absolutely outstanding this time, so our girls night out was even better. We ordered the vegetarian risotto to share (along with other items) and it was WAY too salty. The waiter instantly took it back, without a hesitation.
Loved the wine selections and the knowledge our server had. We love Sokal! He brings an energy that makes us wanting to come back. Why did you take the Brussell Sprouts off the menu? They are the best! Please don't fix it if it is not broken. Love your flatbread pizzas with the hot sauces...Yum!!!! Seasonal vegetables surprisingly tasty! My favorite the cardamom and goat cheese crème brulee. The earthiness of the goat cheese balances the sweetness of the brulee. I love it!!!! Another favorite are the Poke Tacos. My only suggestion is to have a little side of soy sauces with some sweetness. Same with the crab and Poke salad. A little salty sauce on the side. Thank you for being our favorite restaurant! We send our friends to you all the time!!
I had read the great reviews online and thought this would be a good place for Easter Brunch, but I should have asked if they where only serving their normal menu, which they where, quite disappointing, Frankly the menu is nothing special, same old food choices as everywhere. Maybe the dinner menu is more inspired.
What a great experience at our first time dining at the Patio suggested by our daughter who have dined there a few times with friends. The ambiance was great for the indoor and outdoor seating with the spreading patio lights. Our Server for the night, Manny, was excellent and the rest of the staff were efficient. Loved the small plates, where we were able to try a lot of different items. Will be back.
I would've given a higher rating however, our seating was a half hour behind. I understand that people want to hang out and socialize but I feel it's the restaurant's right to politely invite the table to move to the bar or other area so reservations can be seated on time.
Great food, great service, great ambiance. Extensive cocktail menu. We ordered as if it was a tapas bar with a little of everything: brussel sprouts, Korean BQ beef, smoked tomato and date bruschette, braised Spanish octopus, Ahi poke tacos, braised pork shank. Yum. No room for dessert.
I've been coming to the Patio for happy hour and brunch since it opened, and now I'm so happy to have tried their dinner menu too. The menu offers a lot of unique options and clearly labels vegetarian and gluten-free options. As a pescatarian, my favorite meals are the ranchero skillet for brunch and seafood risotto for dinner.
First view here after a couple of different friends recommended it. Love the small and shared plates concepts since it allowed us to try a few different things. The service was outstanding, I don't think I've ever had a more enthusiastic waiter. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the ambiance.
Even before going to the restaurant I was happy with the fact that my dog can tag along to the breakfast :)
It was our first time trying Patio on Lamont. Both my friend greatly enjoyed the home-garden feel of the patio. The wall filled with plants along with the fireplace were great touch to the aesthetic of the restaurant.
Another outstanding fact about our visit to the restaurant was our waitress. She seemed to have been the only one on the patio area. However, she was very attentive to all our needs and her upbeat attitude brought liveliness to the interactions. I really appreciated that.
Food was good as well; though it wasn't outstanding or unique compared to what I thought would be. Also, I noticed they have a different menu selection for breakfast and brunch so make sure to ask for the brunch menu, for it seems to contain more selections.
Oh, and I liked their coffee as well. I personally like the gentle/earthy ones, so if you are into them, please do try!
I hope to return and try the brunch menu one day.
The Patio was one of our go to places for a special dinner and we have eaten there at least a dozen times in the last year. The food quality was not up to par for our last visit. Too many flavors and spices that tasted overwhelming rather than delicious. Missing our favorite artichoke dip and ordered a broccoli dip instead that came in three separate little pots with three little pieces of bread. Meh. Desert was the best part. Service felt like we were being rushed through the meal. Disappointed.
This restaurant was recommended by a number of friends. It was easy to make a reservation online. It's pet friendly. That's a nice feature. I don't have a pet, but can imagine this to be nice for someone who does have one.
The restaurant was very loud. I would not call this "energetic." It was just unpleasantly loud. Food was o.k. but not that impressive. Why a restaurant in this price range, which probably considers itself to be a fine dining restaurant, would serve unfiltered tap water, is beyond me.
Service was o.k., but not particularly attentive. It was too expensive for the quality. Not a good value and not a pleasant dining experience all around.
