birthday celebration—server surprised us with comp champs & cupcake! totally unexpected but totally appreciated!
Food was amazing. Definitely recommend getting the wagyu shooter. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and explained each course in depth. Would recommend this place.
The food was second to none. May have been the best meal I’ve ever had. The prices though...ouch. Way out of my league. Service was exceptional.
Delicious food especially, surprisingly, the pasta. All of the food was very good. The cocktails were good too; wine was a little overpriced. But what was most surprising was how, after a fantastic start, all previously warm service disappeared and we sat shivering (heat lamps don’t work well) with dirty plates in front of us for a good long while. I finally had to wave someone down and ask for help clearing the table. I suspect our server was just overwhelmed. At this price point I don’t expect a lapse like that and it should be addressed.
Had a lovely dinner. Had the octopus and the filet. The Brussels were perfect and the mash potatoes were so fluffy and light. A beautiful meal.
We chose to eat at the Patio vs Alexander Steakhouse because we saw on open table that the menu was kind of similar and had a lot of options that we would like. When we arrived, a different and smaller optioned menu was given to us... an updated menu on open table would be nice so customers won’t get confused (like we did). One star off for that . Everything was else ammmaazzzingggg except for the ribeye steak. It was smothered with way too much sauce that ruined the beautifully cooked steak, it would have been great without it. Another star off for that. Staff was super attentive and nice. Loved the hot rum drink
The food is okay, but overpriced. Service is ridiculously slow. They limit parties to 2 hours, but it took them over an hour to serve our entrées. When we got our entrées, there was a hair on one of our plates. We won't be going back.
Food was blah. Service was slow when it got busy. Ambience was not that of fine dining. Wouldn’t recommend or return. Cocktail were good though
Not enough heaters for outdoor seating. Especially for a high end restaurant. It took almost two hours for our food to be served.
Loves the cocktails and food. Was disappointed that not every table had their own heat lamp and the low quality of the tent. It was so cold and windy, we could barely talk over the sound of the tent flapping, and at the corner table the tent literally hit our backs over and over again due to the wind. If they invested in a better tent and a few more heat lamps it would have been a much better experience.
I can’t say how much we loved this meal and experience. The staff was amazing and excited to share their knowledge about the meal.
They were more than ok with my partner and sharing all the selections which was great so we could experience it all
We loved how they brought out our selections as courses
Started with the shots and complimentary shot of squash soup and glass of Prosecco
We had the Black truffle Carbona ⭐️ Black truffle mash with our premium 18 oz rib eye.
Let me go back to the mash.... this is the kind of dish one will dream about long after
O how can I forget the homemade bread and infused butter
It was al amazing worth every pennt
Very nice to eat indoors at a nice place with great food.
Polite waitstaff but too thinly staffed to cover the outdoor diners with enough frequency.
The meals were all high quality but with one exception they were also terrifically small. Which the menu does not spell out
So while I thought the meals were tasty and well presented, I do not plan on returning. Simply not enough quantity for the money.
It almost reminds me of the quilted giraffe in Manhattan back in the day
Net: I could of lived better with less wagyu inspired dishes and heartier meals for the plus $100 a person experience
My husband and I used a gift card that we had received from the manager after a poor experience before the pandemic so this is an updated review, and I'm happy to say it was very positive! The service and overall customer experience has improved quite a bit. What stood out is that they had a note somewhere on my account with the historical context and when the meal was ending, they proactively acknowledged my last poor experience and proactively comped our first round of drinks for the night. That continuous documentation on my profile allowed them to proactively take action and resulted in an even better customer experience than I had anticipated going into the dinner. The details matter and both my husband and I were extremely impressed that they had those notes saved on my account profile from 1.5 years prior. Not to mention the food is amazing. We'll definitely be back again.
Spot was the shyt whoever is reading this it's a most go
Food was very good, service was excellent. The pastas were amazing, something that was a surprise for a steakhouse. Unfortunately it was cold and windy, they did their best to help and provided blankets, but outside dining in March was not amazing.
Great service great food definitely coming back!
We have specific dietary needs, and the server and chef accommodated our needs. The food was delicious. We had sea bass and 8oz fillet with Brussels sprouts.
Outstanding steaks and service.
It just seems like they were not ready for outdoor sitting . The wind was blowing, and not enough heaters. It was nice touch with a blankets, but it was just too cold. And service was okay. I expected more
The drinks was really good but unfortunately the food was not what I expected at all... The free bread, octopus and broccoli was the only thing we like out of all the items we order and we did order a lot. For two people our bill was around $500. don’t think I will be going back
We came for our 17 year wedding anniversary. Israel was our server and he was amazing! Great service, great food and an overall fantastic experience as always with Alexander’s!
Expensive, but delicious! The carbonara appetizer and the ribeye were great.
The food was amazing, cooked beautifully. Service was impeccable from the hostess, server, bartender and sommelier. We even received lap blankets!
Outdoor dining but they did a great job accommodating us and creating the ambiance.
Great Covid era set-up with outdoor dining. Great food and great service. However, a bit pricey for the portion sizes.
Very consistent high quality food and service!
I came here on my birthday and ordered their ribeye which was realllly salty. Would say it was not worth the $77 for a mediocre entree. Uni spaghetti was a bit plain and the wagyu shots were missing a broth that the server said was supposed to come out to us but never did. I don’t think i would come back for the price and quality of the food. There were no heat lamps near our table and the service was lacking.
the food was absolutely exquisite. we had the wagyu shots, grilled octopus, uni spaghetti, 16oz ribeye, truffle mashed potatoes, and ended with the olive oil cake. every single dish was a 10/10.
the host and server were very attentive, and they made sure everyone was comfortable outdoor dining in the crisp SF evening by offering lap blankets.
all the tables were well distanced, so we felt comfortable dining in this setting.
Great drinks. Good food. Friendly and accommodating staff. Heat lamps and covered tents help with the cold wind.
The food was ok to good. When paying this much for a dinner, (our bill was $600 w/ tip) I expect exceptional food quality. The pasta was good, but the steak which was cooked perfectly, was covered in sauce. The service was good but my recommendation is that they try to let the beef shine. The waygu we ordered was good but I’ve had way better. Would have expected a much better quality of food for the price.
Amazing service and the best steaks we’ve had in San Francisco. The fillet was like no other. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be back.
Funny, knowledgeable sommelier. Well-balanced menu options (cold/hot appetizer, main, A5 wagyu, drinks, wine). Strongly recommend their flight options. Amuse bouche of warm butternut squash soup just hits all the right places, plus that bread with wagyu fat butter was just divine. The rest of the meal did not disappoint. We were a party of two, ordered uni spaghetti, ribeye, wagyu, broccoli, and mash potatoes; we pretty cleaned everything and were not hungry, not too full - just right. Thank you to Chef and team for their hospitality and a great experience!
Environment: Candle light ambience. It's SF; you know to bring your light jackets. Outdoor dining on the patio with heating lamps; seating area includes water proof tent has 3 walls, another tented area with 2 walls, plus a row of 2 seaters that is not covered (the fewer the walls, the better the airflow; so hopefully this helps you pick a seat if you had a choice). Staff gloved and masked all the time. Patrons do take off their masks while chitchatting in between meals; hopefully this is helpful as you evaluate your COVID risk tolerance.
Jeff was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great food, excellent service! Will definitely be back.
Wonderful service, and I loved that they split everything for us! I will definitely come back here!
Great food and service per usual. Would recommend any ALX lover who cannot dine indoor at the Steakhouse to come here.
