a perfect place to have an extraordinary experience. food, service, atmosphere, all is great.
My wife and I enjoyed an anniversary meal as part of our stay at the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa. I’d mentioned when I booked the reservation that it was an anniversary celebration, and every person who greeted us wished us a happy anniversary while we were there. Very sweet.
Our server (I wish I could remember his name) was delightful. He was funny, charming, and went above and beyond to make our experience special- even adding a little “Happy Anniversary” sign and candle to my wife’s mashed potatoes.
The dinner was okay, but not super exciting. The desserts, however, were delicious. The price was what I expected, and the service made up for the lackluster aspects of our meal. We would go again if we were there for another getaway.
The fish and chips were not good. Tiny pieces of dry fish in very thick batter.
Such good food. Definitely pricey, but I think you are getting what you are paying for.
Dinner was fantastic!
I loved the atmosphere. The service was very, very slow. We weren’t wanting a fast meal, and in a nice restaurant I don’t expect speed. However, we waited and waited for each stage of the meal. We started with the calamari and a cocktail which was great. I ordered the spaghetti With meatballs and was disappointed. The meatballs were tough and salty. My friend ordered the burger and it was charred and just ok. I didn’t feel that I received a meal worth $100.00 for the two of us.
Always a nice dinner locally. Comfortable table great food and so convenient. Very enjoyable, thank you.
While the restaurant is lovely and the service very good we found the quality of the food had declined since prior visits. We were there for a birthday lunch and all three of us chose different entrees and not one of us was impressed with the food. The fish in the fish and chips was tasteless and the fries overly salty. The addition of smoked salmon (described as salmon bacon) was not a good idea. The peach and green salad was almost devoid of peaches. Our earlier experiences there have had us coming back for special occasions, but I’m now somewhat reluctant to return.
The restaurant is situated in a lovely boutique hotel. Our dining experience began with FREE valet parking! The menu is perfect in every way. Bar tender made a better martini than I do! Wine list was an appropriate compliment to food. Wait service was fast, very friendly, and attentive. If this sounds like the “perfect” restaurant it may well be!
Ate at the bar. Elisa was the bar tender and she was great!
The Park Bistro is easy to find, easy parking, comfortable dining, friendly service and nice menu variety.
Fabulous! The food, service and ambiance were so good that we booked reservations for Thanksgiving!! And asked for our waiter’s table!
Waiter was snotty and acted like he was too good for us. Atmosphere too stuffy.
Food was excellent and we enjoy the quiet in the dining room at 5:30 pm.
Very friendly and helpful waiter, Brandon.
2 of the items we ordered did not come out to the table. After mentioning the pomme frites it was eventually brought out, but the seasonal soup of the day never was. Our waitress...Vu something was super short with us, especially my wife and made us feel uncomfortable. One of us has dietary restrictions gluten-free and dairy-free, when trying to confirm with Vu that foods were safe to order she was clipped and rude.
We will not come back nor recommend The Park Bistro and Bar to any friends.
Jolene was a great waitress and the food and drinks were great.
Foods were great!! Wine good too.
My guests and I got good time.
Services were fast and great!!
Was just a tad bit disappointed because had mentioned when making the reservation, we would be celebrating a birthday (87 years young) and also mentioned the birthday to the hostess and no acknowledgement of the birthday. A small scope of ice cream with a candle would have gone a long way. :-(
Food was tasty, but not fresh. Lettuce had brown, wilted edges. The green sauce was completely dried up onto the plate.
Good overall experience and great server. However a few pieces of our silverware and a glass were dirty and had to be replaced.
Our food was amazing as was the service! Terrence was a fantastic server and gave great recommendations- very attentive and efficient, not to mention his great sense of humor! Our meals were delicious as were the sides and desserts! Wonderful experience! Can’t wait to come back!
Food was good for the price for the lunch a la carte, the buffet way to expensive per person. We all ate, party of 3 for the one price of the buffet.. the food was good.
Entrees were amazing! However, don’t order the chocolate bread pudding. Not tasty and not worth the calories. Dry.
It was a very nice elegant restaurant and the food was excellent. Our server was nice but not attentive.
We normally do NOT like to eat in the dining room we prefer the bar area. We had guests and we were disappointed to have no choice but the dining room because the bar was full. We wound up having THE most amazing server named Terrance. He turned a dull environment into a wonderful laugh filled evening. He engaged all the tables around us we all laughed and giggle because we were all having the same fun filled experience with Terrance. Be breathes life into the room! He got us all to try new drinks and entrees and we LOVED his suggestions so did the others around us. WOW. Now I will ask to be put in Terrances section no matter where it is! He is AWESOME and knows his menu and cocktail. The Park found a gem and they need to keep him.
Had the pork chop and enjoyed its spicy sauce and accompanied polenta and vegetables. $$$
Lovely place for a leisurely lunch. We were be back soon
Thanks to everyone who made my sweetie's birthday extra special. Our server (Vivian, I believe - petite with a dark, glossy pony tail) took such good care of us even though we had to come in fifteen minutes before they closed. She was super attentive and professional and friendly. We will be back!
We made the reservation some time ago and asked for a booth because it was a birthday celebration. The seating hostess acted like we were a bunch of old ladies and did not deserve a booth or honor our reservation. They let “walk ins” have booths. We were first put at a couple of wobbly tables and we asked that something be done to fix the problem. Finally Joe, the Drink and food manager came over and took care of the problem and said that we could wait for a booth to open up. We were finally seated at a booth.
Art was wonderful. We loved his sense of humor!!!
Lovely atmosphere with great service. The food was very good. No negative feedback here. We’ll be back.
Quiet elegance. This place is great.
Always love it!
A shadow of its former self when it comes to food and cocktails. Still a beautiful facility and the Bistro is still good but the restaurant has gone way downhill and my cocktail was watered down.
Excellent service from Joel. Our birthday wishes were followed to a tee. We never felt rushed.
Very nice ribs and steaks. Some of the wines by the glass are quite nice for the price. Service was polite, but not attentive. Server disappeared at one point and was hard to locate to order dessert. Could be a nice place for a special occasion meal like a birthday or anniversary, but some of the "couples" seating isn't great in terms of space or comfort. Don't feel the rest. has a good value proposition for its price and thus would recommend elsewhere in Walnut Creek/Lafayette.
The food quality was less than other restaurants nearby. Staff didn't pay attention to flatware and plates as needed. Acceptable if one is already staying at the hotel; not a meal destination.
Lovely ambiance, delicious brunch and dessert options, fantastic service.
I love going to the Lafayette Park Bistro for Sunday Brunch. I have been going there for many years. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
I would like to make a suggestion for their brunch menu. They have been duplicating many dishes on the a la carte brunch menu that they serve on the buffet table. There often offer at least 3 salad dishes on the menu that one can find on the buffet table. I would like to see more cooked main dishes on the menu .
I would appreciate that the executive chef would consider my suggestion. Thank you.
