The Park Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
I eat at the Bistro often for lunch with my friends, frequently celebrating birthdays. Our lunch Friday was the first time ever that I felt that the service was too slow. The place was packed and only 2 servers could be seen. I like the menu but do wish it would change a bit from time to time. It's been the same items for several months now. But, the food is always good, served hot, and beautifully presented.
Made reservations to celebrate my wife and I 18-year anniversary. I even added a footnote on open table which is then to be sent to the restaurant. Was hoping for a minimum a happy 18-year anniversary but instead we got a very dry server. Asked a simple question with regards to the menu and received a very rude response. I’ve been coming to the Park Hotel for the past 10 years and this will definitely be our last time. Food was terrible and overpriced. Please save your money and make reservations at the Hideout which is right up the street. Way better food at the hideout and they treat you with respect and class. Park Hotel you’ll have went downhill. Cheers
Although Park Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants, this was the first time we were here for Sunday Brunch. We were very pleased with the variety and quality of the buffet, and also enjoyed our choices of main course from the menu. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed it ll, and plan to return.
Park Bistro was fairly disappointing especially given the great reviews. We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary and while the service was exceptional, the food was fairly average. We ordered steaks for our main course and even though we had asked for them to be medium, they were well done and chewy and not that succulent. We pointed that out to our server and were told, yes we know it's a problem with a certain cook in the kitchen--thanks for letting us know. Not what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber and price point. Would be hard pressed to recommend this to friends or family.
Was a little disappointed. Haven’t been here in a while and was sad to find it all sub-par. I’ll start with the service because in a situation where the service could have improved our overall dining experience, the service just added to the overall disappointment.
We arrived and had free & friendly valet parking. We were seated right away in cozy surroundings. The menu was very inviting and all the food was enjoyed by all three of us.
I personally have always enjoyed the delicious dishes served by friendly servers every time I have been at the Park Bistro.
We've visited multiple versions of the restaurant at Lafayette Park Hotel and was not aware that the "bistro" theme was now extended through the entire place, not just the bar. After having stopped in for lunch many times, often sitting outdoors in good weather or by the fire when chilly, this was the first time going for dinner.
Four of us were seated in a comfortable booth and enjoyed the low noise level despite a busy dining room. Delicious cocktails arrive quickly. Nice salads to start and all entrees well prepared. Salmon, black cod, filet mignon, and my braised short ribs were absolutely perfectly prepared and presented. Very good and reasonable will selection by the glass and excellent attentive service.
We will be back more often!
Onion soup was well-balanced altho not exceptional; same with Caesar. Beet salad was excellent. Salmon/quinoa dish quite good altho I asked that salmon NOT be overcooked and it came pretty close to being overdone, Midwest style. Black cod dish was loser; fish not fresh and gnocchi/fennel accompaniment was blandly uninteresting. Baba au rhum was so-so. Overall a pleasant lunch but not exceptional; a level lower than the old Duck Club. However, service is excellent, restaurant is comfortable and quiet altho the updated DR lacks charm. You can eat in the bar area, which was left untouched and has the personality the DR lacks. We'll return to try Sunday brunch when our friends return to town after the New Year.
Love the Bistro, great food and ambiance! Most of the staff is very friendly.
However, the last two times I was there for lunch the service has been extremely slow.
Not sure if it is the wait staff or the the kitchen. The two ladies that were there are pleasant, but
not loving their job and it shows. The manager had to help. Not the best experience I've had there.
