The Park Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great place to meet for a business lunch or a meal with a friend that you want to talk with. Food is good, as is the service. But the restaurant is very comfortable and the noise level is really moderate. I just get very tired of having to work so hard to have a conversation in a trendy restaurant.
We were excited to celebrate my husband's birthday at The Park. We had not been there since The Duck Club days, and had honestly kind of forgotten about The Lafayette Park Hotel. I booked through Open Table and requested a booth since reviews recommended it. We arrived, and were led to the dining room by the hostess where every booth was open except one, and there were tons of open tables. She led us to a regular table right by an open booth. I asked if we could have one of the booths, and she said no. I said I had requested one and she looked kind of confused but sat us at the table anyway. 2 of the (I believe) 5 booths remained empty THE ENTIRE TIME we were there, which was more than 2 hours. We even heard a woman say "oh good, a booth!" when they were seated, as though they didn't request it. Our reservation was at 7pm. Given that the dining room was never full and all the booths never filled, it was disappointing that she knew we were celebrating a special occasion (she asked when we arrived and it was noted with my request), I asked and told her it was requested and told no. Not the end of the world in the big scheme of things, but it left a bad impression.
The good...service was leisurely, but very attentive, and the food was good.
All in all...with the hostess issue, slow service, bill was wrong (fixed but we were charged for an $18 glass of wine we didn't order) and we were reported as a no show to Open Table (we were able to prove we were there with info from our bill), I don't think we'll return to The Park with so many other great options nearby!
Had a great experience at Park Bistro celebrating my friend's promotion. Calamari, salads, filets with the awesome dipping sauces, polenta, lava cake - all was delicious. Great service from Christian, as well. We were in the main dining room, which is a little sleepy compared to the bar and patio area. I can't quite put my finger on it but the ambiance in that main dining room is missing something, but nothing that stands out as negative, just perhaps needs a cosmetic update, different music, dimmer lighting. Anyhow, I'll be back, sounds like there is a good happy hour!
We came here for lunch to celebrate an informal wedding. We were seated promptly, brought some water after a few minutes, and then ignored. Finally one of our party flagged down the manager to bring us some drinks. It was over half an hour from being seated to getting drinks. And then we waited some more until our food order was taken. The food came out at different times, causing us to wait somewhat impatiently until all had received their food. Utter chaos. I'm not sure what was happening. The server seemed preoccupied with some regulars. I'm pretty lenient with waitstaff but the service was just bad. The food was pretty good. We won't be back.
Celebrating my Mother's 90th birthday! Brought one of her friends who also has mobility issues, and the staff was very accommodating. Had a delicious lunch --- we all love the quiche! Thanks to all the staff, from parking attendants, to checkin people at the door, to the wait staff, a delightful lunch experience.
This is one of our area favorites. It's location is good, food delicious and beautifully presented, service is welcoming and attentive, valet parking is complimentary, outside seating by a fire pit is a special feature and there is an atmosphere of understated elegance without prevention.
This was our first time dining at the Park and we came away very pleased with the entire experience. The only minor negative was waiting for a table when we had made a reservation. The bar area is louder compared to the dining room but cozy with fireplace. The bistro was remodeled 5 years ago according to the waiter and it's a very pleasant environment for dining. If you like privacy, reserve a booth. Dinner menu offers inviting appetizers and main course list offers something for everyone, including gluten free options. The crab cake was excellent and can be shared between 2 people. Fried calamari very light and tasty. For the main course we decided on short rib and flat iron steak. Both were excellent. If ordering flat iron steak be sure you like medium/rare meat and it's prepared perfectly. The short rib melted in your mouth. We had 2 sides, creamy polenta and wild mushrooms. Polenta had a bit more salt than I would like but tasty. The mushrooms were perfect.
If you're looking for a great place to dine or just a quick bite you can't go wrong with the Park. We both came away very pleased with the entire experience and would definitely recommend the Park for a special occasion or just a quick lunch/dinner.
I eat at the Bistro often for lunch with my friends, frequently celebrating birthdays. Our lunch Friday was the first time ever that I felt that the service was too slow. The place was packed and only 2 servers could be seen. I like the menu but do wish it would change a bit from time to time. It's been the same items for several months now. But, the food is always good, served hot, and beautifully presented.
Made reservations to celebrate my wife and I 18-year anniversary. I even added a footnote on open table which is then to be sent to the restaurant. Was hoping for a minimum a happy 18-year anniversary but instead we got a very dry server. Asked a simple question with regards to the menu and received a very rude response. I’ve been coming to the Park Hotel for the past 10 years and this will definitely be our last time. Food was terrible and overpriced. Please save your money and make reservations at the Hideout which is right up the street. Way better food at the hideout and they treat you with respect and class. Park Hotel you’ll have went downhill. Cheers
Although Park Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants, this was the first time we were here for Sunday Brunch. We were very pleased with the variety and quality of the buffet, and also enjoyed our choices of main course from the menu. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed it ll, and plan to return.
Park Bistro was fairly disappointing especially given the great reviews. We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary and while the service was exceptional, the food was fairly average. We ordered steaks for our main course and even though we had asked for them to be medium, they were well done and chewy and not that succulent. We pointed that out to our server and were told, yes we know it's a problem with a certain cook in the kitchen--thanks for letting us know. Not what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber and price point. Would be hard pressed to recommend this to friends or family.
