Would not return. Service very slow. Friends arrived before I did, requested beverages; however, were not served until seated in dining area. Requested bread several times before it arrived. Server had an excuse each time. Server pleasant but not fully accommodating of the table guest.
Fantastic lunch today at The Park. Ambiance, food, drink and service were exceptional. Should be dining here much more frequently.
Light, airy comfortable setting. Nice for lunch.
Service was personal and friendly. Covered self parking available.
Exceeded our expectations on all counts. Perfect table for 5, next to a window looking out to the courtyard and fountain. It was great because we could see each other and hear each other too. The services was excellent. Dominic was our server and he was so attentive w/o being overbearing. Two of my guests especially appreciated his knowledge of the menu because of mandatory diet restrictions due to celiac and Meunière disease, so knowledge of gluten free & very low sodium diets are essential for them to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy themselves w/o worrying if they will be sick afterwards. The kitchen did at great job at tailoring their orders to their needs. The pork chops, scallops, salmon and pasta dishes were delicious and perfectly prepared. Ample portions, which the guys especially appreciated. Desserts were all delicious too and my guest who order the brownie w ice cream was over the moon with the portion. This was a special birthday for 2 very special friends and everyone was tickled, delighted and happy with the evening. Definitely will be back. This was our first time for dinner at the Bistro. Congrats! We are not an easy group to please. Again, thanks Dominic for taking such good care of us.
Easter dinner. Everyone enjoyed our meals.
Our waiter and other staff were so nice and very attentive. The food was well cooked to our perfection - we all had red meat. The special soup, sweet pepper soup was delicious.
Great service. Well prepared seafood. Delicious desserts.
The best beet salad ever. Bar none. With very professional and pleasant service.
My husband and I enjoyed celebrating his birthday here. The food was delicious, the service great, the seating comfortable and not too close to the next diners. Gluten free options are right on the menu which I appreciate. Free parking, if you come early enough which we did. Pricey.
Staff was extremely accommodating & friendly, esp since the 3 of us had confused our exact time & date and all drove at least 20 minutes to get there. They truly made the day a success for us! Plus it the food was delicious, fresh and attractively presented. Thank you.
We’ve enjoyed Park Bistro on numerous occasions in the past. This time was sadly different. After being seated, we were served water, but then it took 12-15 minutes for our waiter to arrive and get our drink orders. We decided to order our meal at the same time. My wife ordered the 8 ounce filet, and I decided for the hamburger. Another 20 minutes went by before our order arrived, while other diners who arrived after we did had their meals served. When our order arrived, my wife noticed that her steak was cooked medium. She realized the waiter had not asked her how she wished it prepared. When she mentioned that to him he said ‘I thought I heard medium’ instead of recognizing he had forgotten to ask her how she wanted it cooked.
The food actually was quite good, as it usually is here. But the delays and unpleasant interaction with our waiter was unexpected and disappointing. With so many choices in the area, we don’t have any good reason to come back here any time soon.
Interesting menu and pleasant dining room with attentive service.
Food is amazing! Loved going there for St Patty’s Day dinner. Lovely atmosphere and delicious beautiful food. Pliny the Elder on tap! Will be back.
It was fine. Expensive for what it was. Our server was not friendly, “curt” I’d say. Doubt we’ll return .
It was a rainy day and as soon as we walked into the Bistro and felt the warmth of the fireplace, we knew we'd picked the right place. The food was outstanding, the service was quiet and competent and we enjoyed our lunch. We plan to come back for dinner soon. It's a cozy place, not too big, and on a cold day, perfect for comfort food and good conversation. The bar was crowded but not too noisy. All in all, a great place for a good meal in nicely decorated room.
Enjoyed the food that service was very nice this time.
It is quiet and comfortable. One can carry on a conversation. There is not much of an ambience. Most lunch diners are elderly.
Very good food, not too pricey. Nice sit down place with tablecloths and cloth napkins. Very good service: attentive and not pushy. We like this place as its location lends itself to easy parking, not so congested as other parts of Lafayette or in Walnut Creek. Very nice place for a special occasion or date. We will return and would recommend to others.
We have chosen the Park Bistro for lunch often. The food is good, the service its excellent, and the ambiance is welcoming. Try it, you will like it.
Very nice and considerate staff, generally good service but rather slow considering there were few people seated in the restaurant on a Sunday at 6 pm. Food was just okay this time; calamari was tough and chewy, braised beef was not too tasty; salad with salmon was good, but that's harder to mess up. Food was much better on Christmas eve, with faster service.
We waited an hour plus for our dinner. We were offered free deserts as compensation only to have to wait 25 MORE minutes for those to arrive. Instead of “owning” the slow kitchen situation early on and checking on us, offering bread maybe?, our waiter kept disappearing. Though we did enjoy the our steaks when they finally arrived, I am very reluctant to return. Such a shame as we live nearby.
This restaurant has become more comfortable and casual with reasonably priced meals that are tasty and healthy. Diners can go here on a regular basis and not have to wait for a special occasion because the menu offers a great selection, and delicious meals for a super value. You can't go wrong here!
One person said “not enough artichokes in quiche, but all else said wonderful..
Will definitely recommend and return.
Service, ambiance and food was great. Having been occasional visitors for many years we now find the prices have gone very high.
May find other places to dine out.
I have been to the Park Bistro several time and each time I have been please with the food and the service. The food variety is excellent as there are many options to meet most palettes. Coffee was hot and very good as well.
Food was Excellent. We had a big party. We ordered salmon, sirloin, even hamburgers and a Kids meal. Everything was on point. Service is top notch. Such a beautiful setting.
Our waiter, Jason, was wonderful! Friendly, professional and charming!
This is an excellent restaurant in the Lafayette Park hotel. It is an elegantly decorated bright room with large alcoves facing the courtyard/patio. These alcoves have comfortable bench seats that are next to the large windows. The atmosphere is really nice. My wife, daughter, and I had dinner here and our three entrees were exceptional. They included seared scallops in vadouvan (Indian spice) chicken jus, braised short rib with sweet potato puree, and the duroc pork chop with Kentucky style marmalade. The French onion soup should not be missed. Symbols on the menu indicate whether each item is vegetarian, gluten free, or contains nuts. Desserts include tarts, cobblers, pot de crème, etc. There is a very nice list of classic and seasonal cocktails and wines by the glass. Breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch are also served. Service by Dominic was spot on. He was very friendly, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable about the food. Another bonus is the free parking in the hotel garage or the no-cost (but please tip) valet service.
Had such a great time. Food was delicious. The courtyard is beautiful. Definitely coming back.
Great lunch on the Bistro terrace! Doggie included!
We had not been to the Bistro in some time but were glad to see our old friends, Jerry, Maria, Joel were all still there.
Service was excellent but the food was even better! Was it just that we hadn't been there recently or has the overall portion size and quality increased? Turkey clubs were so large and generous that we finished them for dinner. My hamburger was fabulously good - and one can never get enough of the kettle chips.
A glass or two of excellent house Merlot really hit the spot. We will be back soon!
Met up with sisters and brother - we all thought the food was Fabulous as was our server, Kim. Chicharrones and Roasted Red Pepper soup were fantastic! The Park Picnic Salmon over couscous was die for and the large order of Fish n Chips outstanding. Mary's Chicken with cannoli very good. Wine list very nice. We had a booth overlooking the courtyard and we were never rushed. Our group always go out for lunch and this was an excellent lunch! Thanks.
I've been here before and have always enjoyed it. Always good food and love the ambiance. Also have had brunch there several times. Always excellent.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, unfortunately we were seated near the kitchen door but the service and food helped to make up for the busy location, it looked like the rest of the tables would enjoy a better atmosphere for dining.
Always a favorite. Good food and excellent service. The bar area has cosy tables by the fire
We had a wonderful lunch. Sat in front room by fireplace. Was very cozy.
Good food, quiet atmosphere, upscale surroundings. All good.
My friend and I loved the food, but I made the reservation (I thought) for the Bistro and Bar, NOT the restaurant. If I'd known how expensive it was, I wouldn't have eaten there. Although it's not as quiet in the bistro, it's less expensive. I'd like the reservation system to be clearer about just what I'm reserving. Other than that, it was great - the filet mignon was out of this world. Oh, the lighting was so dim we could hardly read our menus. Just a teeny complaint.
Good food all right service. Nice atmosphere
It is a pleasure to go somewhere quiet where you can hear yourself talk. The food and service are also very good.
