Loved breakfast!! Avocado Toast with a side of freshly grated hashed brown potatoes....what could be better?
Great food, a bit overpriced, but very tasty. Wide selection of wine and booze.
The food was excellent ....very nice night.
The food is delicious and presented in a beautiful fashion.
The ambiance is lovely and service was good.
Thank you so much. We had the most wonderful experience. We love everyrhing about this restaurant. We definitely were very spoiled by Joel. Such a friendly and classy man. He knew his stuff. Always right there for refills, knew when we were ready to order and was helpful with special diet restrictions. We have had the pleasure of Joel's expertise and will ask for him next time. Thank you for a very special early Valentine treat.
Dinner menu is way better than lunch
Perfection. Our food server and her support team were just so pleasant, so sweet and very attentive. The food was phenomenal. We enjoyed every minute of our 2.5 hour stay. Thank you.
Great service and loved the by the window.
The welcome when we arrived, ambience, perfectly prepared meals, excellent staff make this a great environment for a meeting, special occasion, or date night.
I really enjoyed our waiter Joel! He kept the mimosas coming!
It was average..
Came in for an early dinner with friends on our way to the city. Appetizer (charcuterie plate) and salads were quite tasty. Steaks were well prepared and delicious. The other entrees (duck and short rib) really failed to impressed. For the price point of the restaurant, I kind of expected to be wowed quite a bit more. I didn't even finish my short rib because it just didn't taste all that great.
Servers were very friendly but extremely slow. I know well prepared food takes time but we had 3 courses (appetizer, salad, entree) and it took an hour and 45 mins. Most of this time we were just sitting and waiting, and the restaurant was mostly empty until about halfway through our meal. Then our entrees were brought out several minutes apart. We had to tell half of our group to go ahead and start eating because their food was going to be cold. Then one member of our party didn't have a knife and had to wait quite awhile to get one because a server couldn't be located.
Overall . . . meh. We had a nice evening but when you spend close to $300 on dinner for 4, you shouldn't be eating cold food because you don't have cutlery. And everything should be delicious. We'll find a different place to eat next time.
Superb service. (Vivian). French onion and squash soups were outstanding, Black Cod was excellent. My NY strip steak was ok, but very ordinary considering the price and the prominent placement of steaks on the menu.
Will go again.
Delicious entree (duck breast), perfectly cooked. Calimari appetizer was nothing special. Three sorbets were interesting flavors: orange-cranberry, pear, cassis. Love to see an herb sorbet (basil?) in the mix. Nice wine list, interesting options.
The au jus roast beef sandwich was superb. You don't say anything in your list about the ease of getting into the parking area, the very adequate space even during a busy time, and the ease in safely getting out onto the highway after lunch, all of which are exceptional.
Our group of four gets together every year to celebrate friendship and Christmas. We usually have a great time and this year was equally special!
As always, a delightful evening with friends to celebrate a birthday. Only issue was a large party of women right next to us who were also celebrating but excessively noise. And, because they were being served by the same waiter, less than ideal service for us.
I've been to this restaurant a number of times, and feel like the service in the restaurant area has become worse over time. This is not to be confused with the service in the bar area which is always very good. We were seated in the back corner for a 6 pm reservation for 4 people in the hope that it would be quieter. There is something about the restaurant space which looks cozy, like it will be quiet, but the sound carries tremendously in that room. It got louder and louder. One member of our party, my husband, came a bit later in the meal while we were having our drinks (we had already given our order). The waiter took his order and my husband's food arrived, but we waited approx. 30-35 minutes for our order which seems really long/slow. Food has always been very good at the restaurant and was this time also. But I have been disappointed the last couple visits with the service quality and noise level in the restaurant, so may not return for a bit.
This is a great place for a business lunch:quiet enough for a conversation, eclectic menu with something for everyone, great service and reasonable prices. Servings were a bit too large but we did takeaway.
As always, service and food were excellent. We normally sit at one of the front bay windows. This visit we were seated at the farthest bay window in the back corner, and it was very noisy. Difficult to hear each other.
I was disappointed in the Black Cod which is a dish I normally love. Just didn’t have much flavor.
With prices as high as they are, one shldn’t have to ask for bread.
There were not very many people there which made the ambiance rather flat.
I liked the wine list which had a few good wines that were reasonable.
There are now more vegan and vegetarian options available on their lunch menu.
I had the Lafayette Lunch for $17, consisting of a Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, salad, and a butterscotch pot au creme with a snickerdoodle cookie. What a deal as I took home part of my lunch. The pot au creme was a generous delicious portion. Can’t wait to go back.
Always love eating at the hotel....Hamburgers are great!!!
The food and service are consistently excellent. We were there for dinner and all had excellent meals.
I had an amazing time at this place. The food, the waiter, the interior design was top of the line. Recommended to everyone I spoke to the next day.
Excellent Place for pleasant dining experience. The wait staff most accommodating and professional / helpful. Menu selections limited, however balanced. It is more grill that restaurant. Wine list/ choices fit the dining experience.
Very good food and service. Always reliable. One of the best in Lafayette.
We had excellent service, a nice banquette with a view. The 3 of us had not seen each other in awhile and we appreciated not being rushed by our servers. Very nice dining experience.
Explorer - I came here with a friend for a Sunday lunch. We both greatly enjoyed our food. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with added avocado plus the best tomato soup I've ever had, My friend had a sandwich which was very different that I can't even describe. She also really enjoyed it. I would say, though, that the service was a bit slow. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant. I've been here several times and will come back.
Both of us totally enjoyed our lunch. I had the reubens sandwich...meat wasn’t fatty at all, not too much spread on it, tasted great. My friend had the salmon, with sauce on the side, and said her meal was great too. Very friendly server. Comfortable seating and not noisy. Parking garage was full so used valet parking. A very nice place for lunch.
$4.50 for coffee is too expensive. Price of food is good.
Service was good, portion could be bigger
It was not a good experience, A man at the front was unfriendly and not welcoming. He was snobby and rude.
He sat us outside even when I asked to sit inside. There were two single tables he cold have put them together to seat 4 inside but instead told us we couldn’t sit inside as there was not room.
A little while later a party of 4 was seated inside with the two yanked put together.
It was not pleasant.
The waitress was nice and food tasty but expensive.
I will not go back.
Also they marked the open table as no show when we in fact arrived.
Disappointing this time
Loved we had a booth with courtyard view. We overstayed a bit but were not rushed
Quite elegant setting with delicious and creative food. Visually pleasing as well. Service was prompt and good.
Food was delicious, especially tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the French onion soup. Great spot for New Year’s Day lunch!
Seafood tacos were excellent. Crab wedge salad was average. It was an interesting taste but it lacked ingredients. I think a hard-boiled egg would have made the salad feel more solid. The carrot cake was tres avant grade but nearly tasteless. Even so, I could see returning to this restaurant. We enjoyed the good service by all of the waitstaff.
Food and service were surprisingly excellent for a hotel restaurant. Space is worn down and needs some attention. Interior doors need painting. Curtain rings and curtains were hanging off the rods.
