Met a few girlfriends for brunch and we had a lovely time. Excellent food and the patio was great.

This place recently re-opened after a revamp and perhaps they still have to work out the kinks but the service was terrible. We had a 12:30 reservation and were asked to wait a few minutes while they cleared us a table. Which was fine - but they seated us at an unset table that hadn't been wiped down (despite there being other empty tables all around us) and no one came over, brought water or anything until 1:00 when we finally got up and asked for someone to come over. We ordered - food came at 1:30 and it was the wrong order. They couldn't figure out how to work the coffee machine and eventually brought over something that looked and tasted like dirty dish water - it was just a hot mess - we sent it back. They knew we were unhappy and they still charged us full price. Least they could have done was comp a mimosa. Lame. And food was mediocre. Not bad but nothing special at all. Won't be coming back.

Greeting and service were attentive, the cocktails and food were fresh and well prepared.
The food presentation was very nice, however the portions seemed small relative to the cost.

We dined with another couple at The Palms. Based on other reviews, our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. As starters, we shared the calamari and two bowls of lobster bisque. The calamari was tender and the lobster bisque was a heavenly ambrosia. We each had different entrees; shrimp, halibut, scallops, and branzino. All perfectly prepared and presented. Lewis our waiter was exceptional. His excitement describing the food and the new restaurant was infectious. It wasn’t patio dining weather the night we were there, so we look forward to returning soon for another wonderful evening on the patio.

Yummy Cocktails. Hamburger is delicious and large. Branzino is delicious and large. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms that come with the chicken dish are fantastic! Lobster bisque is very good! Veggie tempura appetizer and calamari are good too.
The bar is a little slow, but I think that is because there was only one bartender and also most of the patrons all came around the same time.
Our waiter, Patrick, was very polite, funny, gave great food suggestions, and added to our experience!

Yes there were some hiccups like drink coming late or a food item missing, but it was handled very courteously.

We visited The Palms for the first time this week for my husband's birthday. The space has been redone to be more open and bright - and the Pacific Rim inspired menu was certainly a rarity for this area.
Very happy to report that the food exceeded our expectations! The Korean ribs were flavorful and properly cooked; salad as well as veggie tempura tasty; Salmon Poke bowl was worth returning for with a nice mix of flavors; the scallops with udon was a unique and delish combination and the lobster bisque was AMAZING! (The only item I was not pleased with was the blackened salmon.)
We understand that a new restaurant needs time to tune things up and there are definitely some improvements that need to be made to make this place successful.
First, the service from entering the restaurant was pretty much a fail. The hostess was more interested in adjusting her blouse and speaking on the phone than addressing her customers. A management person tried to help her so at least he recognized she needed some back up. Subsequently, our waitress did not appear very comfortable with her role. She was certainly nice and very pleasant, but we needed to ask repeatedly for water, request a basket of bread, clean plates etc and never received the glass of wine I ordered with dinner. In defense of our kind waitress, the layout of the floor was so NOT user friendly to the wait staff -she had to power walk at about 6 MPH to barely hang in there.
Additional issue for us was the noise level - typical of a bar, not a place where you are spending a fair amount of money for a pleasant leisurely meal.
In summary, most importantly this place has good food and enough variety to please most palates. They do need to make adjustments with service, organization and if possible the noise level. Although service was marginal, I give them credit for being friendly and that goes a long way in being able to overlook some of the shortcomings. We basically enjoyed our dinner even with the spotty service.

We ordered the lobster bisque, the kalbi ribs, and salad. All very very good. The shrimp appetizer was a little dry. We ordered beer and it came out ice cold in the bottle. The waiter was fantastic and friendly. The ambiance was very nice. We had a great time and we look forward to coming back!

Overall, was a bit disappointed with the experience. Appetizers were good but not great, but the ribeye steak entree was undercooked and poorly seasoned.

Service was a bigger issue. Took a long time to get beverages and water. Once food was ordered, it came out too quick. Appetizers were still on the table when entrees came out leading to a very rushed and cramped dining experience. For this price and location I expect better service and timing of the meal.

Would consider going again if service improved, but there is a lot of work to be done.

Excellent salads and very fresh fish for the poke bowl. The Waygu Bavette was wonderful. The bartender listened to how we like our cocktails and made them perfectly. We enjoyed the evening and will return. Very reasonably priced menu.

There were 3 of us. We tried 3 different appetizers (tiger prawns, chicken yakitori and wild arugula salad) and 2 different entrees (buttered scallops, and tuna poke bowl); all were excellent. We've been to several restaurants lately where we've left still feeling a bit hungry, but this was not the case - for example, there were 4 very large scallops on the entree plates. The staff was very attentive; only issue (for us) was the noise level. Once the weather warms up and we can eat outside, I think that will solve that problem for us.

I have a mixed review on this place. The food was good, service ok, they ran out of a few desserts, but DO NOT sit upstairs. It is way too loud to have a conversation without having to yell at your table. Asked to be seated outside for dessert and coffee, but after being upstairs so long, our ears were ringing/slight headaches.

We’ve watched this restaurant change from Chart House to Palacio to the Palms. I guess I had high expectations, but I was disappointed. The big thing was how pricey everything was. A $22 burger? It was good, but not $22 good. We waited a long time for our cocktails The server got our appetizer order wrong. We ordered it along with our drinks, so there wasn’t much to write down, but it was the wrong item nonetheless. The banana pudding was delicious, but I don’t think I’ll go back.

I regret to say I got sick the next day from the food I ate (lobster bisque or the tiger prawns.)

Regardless of that, the strip steak, ordered as medium rare, was indeed medium rare on one end, but, as we discovered too late, was rare to blue on the other end. It seems difficult to cook a steak so differently across its length, but The Palm's cook managed to do so.

The bisque was okay, but very very creamy. I had a cup, and felt afterwards that I had eaten the equivalent of a stick of butter. I'm aware bisque is a personal taste, and others might like the extra creaminess. All of the lobster pieces fell to the bottom of the cup, where I discovered them in the end.

I will say that The Palm's cook did a good job on the various vegetables served with our meal.

Food was not good. Portions were small. Service was slow at best. Restaurant wasn't that crowded and it took forever. Drinks were small and overpriced. Food was expensive for what we got. They were out of 2 different foods we wanted to try. Soda machine wasn't working so there was nothing for the kids to drink. Overall just a poor experience.

Wow what a wonderful experience with my wife! We got to sit in this romantic secluded table upstairs. The food and drinks were amazing! Only let down was the service took too long at times. However the quality of service was excellent. For their 3rd week being open they did just fine. Can’t wait to go back!

Perhaps it was just a fluke, but a little after we sat down a huge party came in for some Chamber of Commerce event and then then the place became super loud and the service went to pot.

Our appetizer of Jumbo Prawns was excellent, but the main course took over an hour. When my lobster tail arrived the lobster was tough and over cooked. The ink squid risotto it was over was excellent though.

My wife had the burger. I tasted it and it certainly could have been great. The problem was that the fries were cold (which they promptly replaced) and the burger was over cooked. She order it medium and it was at least well done.

The tables around us were seated after us and received their food well before us. One table seated after us received a burger and a replacement burger before we got our food.

This restaurant has reopened under a new owner two weeks ago. The food was quite good with a somewhat limited menu, not a bad idea rather than overextending. Service was definitely lacking. The server went back to the kitchen four times to clarify questions about the menu with a 5 to 10 minute delay each time. My date was twice overlooked in taking drink and dinner orders

The food, ahi tuna, branzino and bread pudding was tasty and well prepared. The margaritas were nice but only after a 15 minute back and forth attempt to get them made from mescal rather than tequila. After we complained to the owner about the poor service, he comped our meal. In view of this we will be back in a few months to see how things develop. The final indignity was that after we returned home I got an email saying that Open Table had us down for a no show because the staff had forgotten that I mentioned the reservation was through Open Table.

This place recently opened up, taking over what used to be Palacio. It is a very nice place for an outdoor lunch or dinner, with indoor dining as well. The main patio deck is being renovated, but there are plenty tables set up in the garden area. Palacio had a good menu, and Palms continues the trend. One of our main dishes somehow got delayed (kitchen mix up) but our server surprised us with two excellent dessert choices "on the house" for our patience. Definitely will continue coming here.

What a wonderful restaurant! Our server was very engaging and explained everything to us since we it was our first time. Shared the Korean Ribs appetizer and two of us had the Grilled Whole Branzino and the other dined on the pan seared butter scallops. We ordered wine, procescco and the island mule. For dessert we shared the Panna Cota. We truly enjoyed a very lovely dinner and would definitely return!

A lot of restaurants have occupied this building over the years. The current incarnation is not bad, but the menu is pretty limited and the chef seems to like things sweet - very sweet. The sauce on the poke bowl was downright cloying, and my wife thought the same about the tiger prawns. So go for the location and the service, but don't expect too much from the menu.

It's s very new place so there were a few hiccups but not many. The space has a lovely bright openness to it. The staff was nice enough. We ordered apps of tuna and shrimp. They were both very good. The shrimp I would go so far as to say excellent! Entrees we ordered scallops w risotto and new Zealand salmon. The scallops and risotto were very yummy- just the right portion for the richness and the salmon was just good....a tad overdone. To be fair I lived in New Zealand for a time so this may not be fair. I also see someone on here complained their salmon was underdone so sufficed to say, there's inconsistencies. The quinoa paired with it was lovely but overall not super flavorful. Felt like a "healthy" dish. Not that that's bad....just an observation. Dessert bread pudding was excellent and chocolate cheesecake was again, just ok.
Basically, overall it was a good meal. Will we go back? Yes. The prices seem a bit high for what they're presenting but it is Los Gatos afterall. They do need work on their wine list. It's not great. For all the amazing wines in New Zealand and Australia (if they're counting that as Pacific Rim) there are MANY exceptional wines but even the ones they've chosen are meh at best.

We decided to try new restaurant in town. Considering it has just opened, we were pleased with food and service. We were given 2 free appetizers and chose the calamari and veg tempura. Both were good although a little too much jalepenos in the calamari.
Two of us had the branzino which was excellent (although would be nice if they filleted). The choice of a both rice and potato seemed a bit strange..really should be a vegetable. One person had the salmon and one the Korean rib dish and everyone thought the food was good. Also, decent wine by the glass menu. We will go back however it is pricey so not a once a week place!

Great for just having opened 3 wks ago! Creative pan-Asian fare, local ingredients, excellent service and they have a chef's table for 8 that can be reserved. I had grilled scallops which were done to perfection and everyone loved their dishes. Wine priced such that a bottle is the best deal. Pretty vibrant bar with tables but this didn't interfere with the dining room ambiance. Recommend!

They have only been open a week. My salmon was very underdone as I had asked for medium.
When it came back the third time it was lovely but my quinoa was soupy and the asparagus was extra large in diameter. Dessert on the other hand was excellent! Hopefully they will improve as the ambience is great:-) They did apologize and took my entree off the bill.
