Super slow service and 1 hour after ordering they told me they ran out of food!! Never ever going back!
All was good, and I was happy to be back dining in Los Gatos over a year. It was nice to sit outside, and it left safe. The food was ok, but have to share that our server was wearing a dirty "Palms" t-shirt with stains, etc. When he first approached the table I thought it was a mistake and he was just a random guy who walking in from Santa Cruz Ave. Really? A dirty t-shirt, that had holes. Not a good representative of the restaurant.
The food was amazing. The lobster bisque is so rich and creamy. For my entree I got the Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi with wasabi mashed potatoes and tropical fruit salsa. The fish melted in my mouth. My husband and I shared the key lime pie for dessert. It was a great finish to a wonderful meal.
It was very nice. I like the outside set up. And I really like the round tables when you are trying to visit with friends!
Great service, drinks , apps and mains. Waiter was awesome!!
Lovely Easter lunch. Eating outside felt safe. Portions were small but very tasty.
It was a beautiful Easter Sunday Brunch! I ordered the chicken pasta, it was good, however, I probably should have ordered a seafood dish, that will happen when I return! I also ordered the pear and beets salad , that was perfect. The best part of our entire meal was the Hula Pie!!! That was absolutely delicious!!!!
will be coming back again and again thats for sure
Although our reservation was supposed to be inside, when we arrived, we were placed outside. We were able to adjust but it was not an easy check in experience. The food was quite good but service was not the best. One entree was delivered 5-10 minutes after the first. The staff did make up for it with a nice birthday dessert on the house.
It was a casual last minute early evening date. The service was fast and the drinks were good. 👍
Not outstanding, but well worth going. We'll be back.
A very nice evening at The Palms. The service was great, staff and guests observed good protective measures, and the food was tasty!
I believe due to to the amazing weather, we had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation. Once we sat down our waitress was on it and very good! Bus people were also working very hard helping each other. It was a bit chaotic to say the least because they were so busy! But the wait staff were amazing!
we keep returning here! Love the food and outdoor dining. mjy
Outstanding love that place
Great outdoor seating. Heaters were at each table. Service was great and fast! Great for both a date night and family night.
We love The Palms, and it has been our go-to place for special events during the pandemic. They have wonderful outside dining, and the service and food have been excellent the four times we've been in the past 12 months. Five stars.
Short menu but all items were prepared with care and great flavor. Portions are generous. Be back soon.
I'm a regular. One of my favorites on the menu is the Poke dish. It comes with mango, avocado, and edamame. Healthy and great tasting.
Calamari appetizer was pathetic. Little fish, mostly breaded coating.
However the main courses were fabulous. I had Seabass and husband had Mahi Mahi. Husband would have preferred rice instead of mashed potatoes but fish very tasty.
Service was awful, which I usually don't pay attn to when checking reviews but this seems to be an ongoing problem at the Palms.
The "Pacific Rim" menu was interesting and delicious. The table server was excellent, and personable. Enjoyed the dinner. I do think the interior can use a bit of a upgrade--not much change since the Chart House.
Waiter and service horrible...they allow dogs and there was a 100lbs dog that kept barking all night
Good to eat inside and be served. Noise was very high, difficult at times to carry on a conversation without having to raise voice to be heard. Service was excellent, however we had specified we were celebrating a birthday but no mention of birthday.
We were really excited to give The Palms a try as we were finally going to dine out during Covid in celebration of my daughter’s birthday. Arrived and were seated rather quickly. But from there things took a bit of a turn. Once seated we sat almost 15 minutes without acknowledgement from anyone as approximately 10 wait staff stood around the bar and chatted about their plans for that Saturday evening. Finally someone came over took our orders.
My daughter ordered the filet, minus the mushrooms, but medium rare. The steak was completely raw and inedible in the center. We couldn’t get anyone to acknowledge our table once food was delivered to send it back for a bit more heat.
In addition, my other daughter ordered the kids pasta with butter and cheese. The noodles were cold and rubbery also inedible. So basically the four of us enjoyed my salad and my husbands appetizer.
No one came back to check on us again after the plates were dropped or to see if anything else was needed.
Finally got someone to bring us a box and the bill. Would not return. Looks like it could be a great little spot, our meal was high disappointing!
Unfortunately it felt grimy and the food was just not good.
All was good, service a tad slow, but they were busy. Pricing was confusing, but over all everyone liked their meal. Nothing over the top about it as far as creative ingredients or preparations, but everything was cooked properly, was tasty and generous portions. Really cool old Victorian building.
We love the Palms, especially for special occasions. Food is always good, service is great and the ambiance is perfect. Highly recommend!
Everything was good. I would probably eat there if I was in the neighborhood. The menu is simple but they look like they are known for their liquor and atmosphere.
I want to like this place more than I ever do. Love the location, service is always very good, but the food is hit or miss. On this trip, I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was very fishy, indicating it wasn't fresh. Appetizers (Calamari and Edamame) were fine. Pricing was good, given that some establishments have jacked up prices due to COVID. Service was fantastic. Will still be back despite the misses on the food, as I like the location and sitting outside when it's warm is one of the best places in LG.
Our experience as first time diners at the Palms was escellent food, presentation, and service. Ate inside which was a little noisy but manageable.
Location, location, location. And ambiance. Sprawling Victorian mansion and patio in the heart of downtown shopping -- that's what you're paying for. Food is adequate. Wine, beer selection very good. Service is as expected for the class of restaurant that it is.
Great atmosphere. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of space to spread out. Food was mediocre and service was poor.
I got the coconut prawn appetizer, scallops, and a mojito...all of which were wonderful! I would definitely recommend!
Food was quite good but the server was inattentive and distracted.
We sat outside under warm heaters and enjoyed delicious margaritas, rich lobster bisque and a couple appetizers. It was a pleasant experience on a chilly evening. We appreciated the heaters provided to make outdoor dining on a cool night pleasant. Our waiter was super attentive! I enjoyed the outdoor garden dining...it has a tropical vibe.
My first visit and I'll be back. We were able to sit inside.
I received my food and was almost done before the other two people in my party received their plates. The servers didn’t know which table was which. Very frustrating to waitress too.
Heat lamps needed to be positioned differently or they needed more. This location is strictly outdoor dining.
Definitely will not be back there anytime soon.
Our first indoor dining in Los Gatos foe a year. Good food and service.
Food was amazing as well as service. Setting pretty as well. Would definitely go again!
First time dining here. I really enjoyed the setting and the variety of food and drink options. Definitely recccomemd the coconut shrimp and lobster bisque! It was a birthday so treated ourselves to the hula pie and wow that was so good as well! The service was very attentive, everyone worked in tandem to support a very timely and pleasant dining experience.
