Never had a bad meal there. Food was great. Service was outstanding
A great meal and fantastic experience.
Our server was absolutely wonderful! She was so sweet and attentive. We were in NYC for 4 days and it was the best dinner we had. Beautiful restaurant and the ambiance was so nice. Food was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! It’s definitely very expensive but worth every penny. I had the apple cider salmon. Excellent
Very nice steakhouse with a kids menu. We arrived early and they sat us right away. Was a bit loud, especially the booth behind us. Service with a smile and was quick. Husband loved the lobster bisque. We both had drinks from the bar that were good. Husband had a ribeye that was good. I got the 9oz tenderloin which was delicious. Sides are shareable so we got the garlic mashed potatoes, delicious. I got the pumpkin creme brûlée, amazing. Husband got the cheesecake and liked it. Would recommend. Would return.
Rushed us out. No time to enjoy the meal before food rushed towards us. Been there many times, this time did not hold up.
Our server and the team were very warm, welcoming, attentive, thorough and professional. We had a nice booth off to the side giving us added, relaxed comfort. Our food was very good. The wedge salad was a great blend of flavors. The quality of beef in the Filets were also quite good. The one knock would be the chefs lack of seasoning on the Beef and the mashed potatoes. Otherwise it was a great experience.
The Palm West went above and beyond to make our experience an unforgettable one after having a long, hard day.
It’s always a wonderful experience The food and service is amazing
Not all seating is equal here. After being taken to table that was literally in front of kitchen doors, and asked for another, we were taken to "back room" which was okay except the music playing main dining room couldn't be heard and overhead fans were on hyper and chilled the room (and food).... but still nice, great cocktails but pricey! Food as expected...
The previous reviews were correct. The steaks were poorly seasoned. YOU HAD JUST ONE JOB!
Had to send back the Au Gratin as it was cold and swimming in a puddle of oil.
Kids menu: our child confused the chicken strips for fish strips they were so bad.
Service was sloppy and inattentive.
I will not go back to the Palm chain. Should have gone to Ruth’s Chris.
Great staff who go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. The food is delicious.
The food was good but there are better steakhouses
The Palm is a great restaurant. Highly recommended albeit slightly marred by a few points.
I ordered the special, a smaller rib eye with bone in. Thin rib eye, would have preferred thicker and smaller. Ordered charred Pittsburg style, it can prepared medium. Hardly any red, improperly cooked for a major steak restaurant. Other diners had filets, which fared slightly better although a little too rare of medium rare.
We were eating pre theatre and everyone’s meals were served at same time so didn’t want to break continuity of eating and possibly make us late. Sides were delicious. Spinach and fries
Must compliment our server AUSTEN (with an E). Perfect blend of professionalism and personality. He made our evening flow with incredible service. And thanks to the manager for stopping by to say hello.
Good food and service. The Palm is always a good experience
As usual the lobsters and steaks were 1st class.
One person in our party was celebrating a birthday. The maitre'd was so kind and sent over a beautiful dessert plate on the house. What a beautiful grsture.
Ordered the Filet Mignon it was cooked to my preference but could have used some seasoning. Again this was good but not on par with my favorite place.
One would expect that after many decades the Palm franchise would be worn out. Actually, Palm continues to be a spectacular restaurant. The food is tops and the service is great. Best of all, Palm is the only place in Manhattan where you can get gargantuan lobsters cooked to perfection.
Just to summarize quickly, the service was excellent, but everything seemed very rushed. So rushed in fact, that the steak seemed to have zero seasoning and the string beans were basically raw. I'm totally fine with vegetables that are a bit al-dente, but this was not the case. It's ashame, but there are so many excellent steakhouses in NYC, Wolfgangs, Strip, Peter Luger, BLT Prime, etc., that I would think you either need to stay on your game to keep repeat customers or assume you'll survive on tourists. If I were to recommend Palm West Side, I would just advocate that if you're food is not up to your expectation, don't hesitate to let someone know and they will absolutely take care of it. Again, the service and management are top notch, but the consistency of the food is a bit questionable.
Had dinner at the Palm West Side before a show. Our waiter was very good at getting us out in plenty of time for our show. My steak was very flavorful and the half & half was outstanding. We couldn't stop eating it even though we were very full. Would definitely go there again for dinner.
The steak was not what we expected . Our food was cold asparagus side dish cold . We didn’t get steak knifes we had to ask for them . The steak was a ribeye and we were sharing it was brought out cut in strips which made our steak dry and cold . Every chef know u don’t cut a 26 oz of steak into strips it ruins the steak. Overall was a disappointment especially since it was our wedding anniversary dinner it was ruined by poor food and service of restaurant. Antony the manager did it right for us took care of it .
My family and I had dinner at The Palm before seeing a show, and we were very disappointed in both the service and the food. The food was just blah (think Applebee’s). Green beans were undercooked and basically no seasoning, mushroom caps were under seasoned as well...I’ve had better calamari from take out restaurants...I could go on and on. We were excited to treat our kids to a “fancy” dinner out, and it was just a big disappointment with a big bill attached.
Service is always first class and the attention to detail top notch! And menu offers enjoy variety to keep everyone happy with the options available. Fun atmosphere.
It was a Wonderful experience, loved the ambience, the food.and the staff
Our waitress was wonderful--attentive, entertaining, knowledgeable and caring. The food was sooooo good. I had the NY strip and it was melt in your mouth and done perfectly. Noise level was kinda high but hey, this is NYC!!
No AC, drinks were slow to come out, and my steak wasn’t seasoned at all. They swiped my card twice, and took forever to settle the bill. By far the worse dining experience of the trip.
We were very disappointed with this visit to the Palm. The AC was broken and the front desk staff and manager should tell the truth that it is NOT going to be fixed. Besides the no AC situation, the side dishes (green beans and brussel sprouts were tasteless) and undercooked. They should have compensated everyone for the Air Conditioning situation not being fixed, like they said it was when we checked in.
The food was delicious and plentiful. Jeffrey was our waiter and he was very attentive. Multiple people stopped by our table to ensure a wonderful experience. Thanks!!
Had an amazing time there! Service was great and food was amazing!! Can’t wait to go back!
The over all experience was lovely and we look forward to going back. We live in Boston and made it a point to eat dinner there whilst in NYC. Thank you for a great experience.
We have shared all of our significant life events at The Palm. We were there last Thursday, and it was its usual great- great food, great service, great martins
Great food and great service. This restaurant is the best!
We both live in Washington DC & eat at The Palm there. Wanted to try the Palm in NYC. LOVE it!
The food was delicious and the staff very attentive. A funny complaint was that we were out from dinner in an hour, we already had seen our show and were in no rush but really did not inform the staff of that fact, but while we were very quick, we did not feel rushed.
A wonderful respite from the clamor of the city, on an otherwise hectic day.
The only advantage to dining at this establishment is the proximity to the Gershwin Theater. The food was poorly prepared, the veal marsala was tough and gummy. The wine was mediocre at best and 3 times the wholesale price. Yes, this is NYC but save your money and go elsewhere.
Fabulous meal and service
Excellent steaks and lobster, great wait staff.
Excellent lunch choices including some surprises - not just meat! Attentive service and (don’t know if they want this known!) very flexible about substitutions - salmon instead, hold shrooms, different dressing on the side - got everything right with a smile. And surprisingly good value! If they have the victory burger, forget the salad you were going to order and go to the gym an extra day to make up for it.
