Everything was great!
Always a great experience. For those in the know, always ask for the Slater Special.
We chose The Palm West Side based on it's proximity to the theater we were visiting, however I would recommend it even if you aren't going to the theater. The food was excellent, wine list plentiful and staff welcoming (especially our waiter, Austin). We were lucky enough to be seated in a small (5 table) room and the ambiance in that room was the best. We started with the caprese salad and it was, by far, the best mozzarella we had even eaten! Our steaks were perfectly cooked and side dishes were delicious and portions were generous. Overall a great experience and we will return next time we are in NYC.
First off, the food was phenomenal which is the best reason to go to the restaurant. The manager came over to see how things were and we asked for something special and he took care of it. Parking is easy right across the street. Also, the way I knew about this place is because I went to the Palm on the Eastside and it was great. If you are going to be in the theater district, it is the place to eat.
The food was great except for the Mac and Cheese, which has received high ratings in the past. I was running and the pasta tasted like it was straight from the box.
The Lobster soup was fantastic and the scallop and clams were great too. My husband had the steak and he loved it, I had the Mac & Cheese and didn't love it. The service was great and we had a fun date night so the company has a lot to do with it.
For the lunchtime special it took 45 minutes for the main course to come after we ordered service was horrible the food tasted like it had been sitting there for 30 minutes inexcusable
If you want a traditional Broadway experience come here NOT Sardi’s.
Great ambiance the friendly hostess took the time to show our daughter some of her favourite actresses on the wall.
Food was traditional and very good.
Everything was great!!
Service was mediocre.
I expect more from this establishment
We arrived early, the restaurant team was ready for us. Nestor our waiter was amazing! He was personable, engaged, efficient and made the evening extra special. I will ask for him when I go back again.
Excellent meal. Sat in one of the smaller side rooms. Not as noisy. Service was good but I do think the restaurant has trouble at peak times.
Great food with a great staff that is eager to please.
My favorite go-to in NYC. Great food, great service, very attentive, and my Martini is always Perfect ! Reservations honored on time !
I enjoyed everything about this restaurant! The food was fantastic; service was impeccable from the moment we conversed with the hostess; the restaurant is a fun, enjoyable place. Glad I found it. We will return!
The Palm West always has great food and service!
Loved the service, ambience and food!! We had a birthday to celebrate and a show after. I picked this place due to the great reviews. I was not disappointed, I had the Chilean Seabass which was like butter that melt right in your mouth, and my friends had steak and it was nice and juicy. The server was also excellent and very attentive.
I arrived early on a cold day, before the restaurant had officially opened. Much to my relief, the manager opened the door and ushered me in, telling me that he didn’t want me to wait out in the cold. I greatly appreciated his kindness!
I very much enjoyed my dinner at The Palm West Side. I had the lamb chops with the mint dressing. Excellent! This was accompanied by a side order of whipped potatoes. Very tasty and well prepared. The service staff were courteous and attentive. A very, very nice way to start the evening prior to attending the theatre!
Always amazed that with the level of pre-show activity every order is perfectly done and accurate. Worth the price.
It has been two years since I have been able to get in there because of various surgeries Kiersten the manager treated us like family with our server Alberto Even though we hadn’t been there for a few years. We usually stop in for llunch. whenever we go to the theater which is usually twice per month. They’re always smiling and the food is a steal at lunch. We just love them. Of coarse, the food is the usual palm quality we will see them soon
Great food, great service. This is a classic steak house - my filet was fork-tender and delicious. We planned to meet up at the bar before dining... the bar was a bit "old boy" and loud. But that would not keep me from recommending this as a special place to dine.
Excellent food, and the service was great, I recommend this restaurant very comfortable and cozy setting, drink was good also.
Great service and food was delicious.
Really great! Had some time to kill before we went to a show right across the street. Stopped in for some light appetizers! Amazing!
Had a 6:30 seating as we had an 8pm show. Did seat us until 6:55. Didn't get our food until 7:40. The first thing I told the hostess and the waiter was that we were in a crunch because of the show time. You think they would know how to run a quick service being that they're in the Theater District
Pros: My lamb chops were prepared perfectly. Tasted great. Balsamic mushrooms were good.
Cons: Chopped salad was over chopped. Brussels Sprouts were just okay, nothing special. The atmosphere is the same, tired drawings of folks I care nothing about. We arrived a bit early for our 6:15 PM reservation. Although our table was available they made us wait at the bar. Place was very noisy, hard to have a conversation. Service was good but I expected better. There are better steakhouses close by. In fact we are going to one of them this weekend.
Warm and friendly atmosphere not common in NYC, staff made us feel like we were in a neighborhood restaurant.
Service was excellent, they encouraged us to take our time, relax and enjoy our drinks and dinner.
Perfect for pre-theater dining. Will definitely go back.
Given the smallest table in the restaurant and treated like we weren’t going to be able to pay for the meal. Simply put The Palm staff profiled my wife and I by our age, we both have our Masters degrees and are leaders in our fields of work. Thanks for setting the bar low for other Palm restaurants.
The Palm never disappoints. It has the right amount of everything...from food suggestions to when to pour water and not disturb your conversation. Always a great place to meet to catch up with business colleagues.
Excellent food and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return in the future!
Great food and great service.
The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. We had a great experience.
Had a lovely lunch with an old friend. We're both out-of-towners attracted by the reputation of the 50th West, the flagship of the NYC flagships of the chain. We both had a classic 9 0z New York steak, and I had the Napa blend red Stag's leap. Lovely service on a very quiet February afternoon.
Had private room. And server Emily was amazing. Thanks for the great memories .
The Palm always has great food, service and atmosphere. You can’t go wrong coming here.
Excellrnt food and service
As Ii am a steak eater I thought, PALM right??? Not! My rib eye was not a quality piece of meat which I so often receive here in Northern Westchester at; Augie's Prime Cut, voted best steak house in Westchester county three years running. The price of my bone in rib eye, $38. as opposed to the same size piece of meat at Palm for $59. the Palm rib eye bone in was tough with lots of silverskin. You go to Palm for steak??? It should be impeccable?? And my wife did not enjoy her crab cake.
Don't believe the hype. I grew up in NYC and moved to Westchester twenty-four years ago and I admit it's still tough to find even a decent restaurant in Northern Westchester so when I go to Manhattan I expect the best, Palm West did not deliver.
We came to The Palm for dinner before the show. We were seated right away and our waiter came to say he will be right over for a drink order. He didn’t come back for 20 minutes to take the order. Once he had our bottle of wine and poured it for us he didn’t come back to take our dinner order for 30 minutes! After asking several times for him to come. We finally received our appetizers and it then took another 25 minutes to actually get our food. While the person next to us that he was also serving had their dinner and were finished by the time we were just receiving our dinner. At that point we needed to quickly eat our food so we can make our show. Very disappointed with the service but the food was delicious.
Cooked my steak wrong TWICE! How hard is it to make a medium steak?!
Great service, super food. Best shrimp cocktail in NYC. And the steak is not too shabby either.
everything was fantastic from the service to the food!
