The restaurant was empty so I was surprised our waistress was not more attentive wirh gaps in between plates being cleared and she arriving. Most disappointing was I told her it was my friends birthday and had hoped she would have inclcued a candle on the dessert or have happy birthday written on the plate but neither was done.
The Palm is just not the same. Even before the pandemic, it had started going too corporate and servers no longer engage and chat with customers like they did in the days of Gino.
It is though with today’s limited menu options. They can’t help Covid. But food quality isn’t the same, and no lobster on a Friday night is just depressing.
I’ve earned nearly 50K Palm points over the past many years. It is time to hang up that habit. There are too many other choices offering better quality food if I’m not going to get the old Palm ambience that drive me to dine there week after week.
Great meal, great service. Hoping thay can increase capacity and re create the Palm feel we love
Nice ambiance /service and good drinks. The food wasn’t so great.
Very nice place, pricey but worth the cost. Quality and service were excellent.
Food was excellent. Service was slow. Management service was lacking. Not up to normal Palm standards (probably because the Palm chain was sold to Landrys).
Great food great steak! Great environment, our host was lovely. I just wish there was lobster Mac or some sort of Mac and cheese. Everything else was great.
Great night. Awesome food and service. Only disappointment was that they did not have the hash browns back on the menu.
In addition to its excellence in food, service and ambience, I now would have to add the compliance with all Covid 19 regulations for social distancing, wearing of masks and cleanliness, etc.
I love the Palm. Food amazing. Staff great. Highly recommend
This place has it all and then some
My steak was superb to say the least. Done just right, nice charred crust on the outside, juicy and flavorful.
We went to Palm West with vouchers from Club 837 but when we presented them we were told that the restaurant chain had been sold and that these vouchers were no longer being accepted. On top of that, we parked our car in the garage next door as the website had previously indicated that we would get discount parking. When we asked to have our parking receipt validated, the restaurant said that they were not making enough money to validate parking discounts so that courtesy was discontinued. And on top of it all, while the porterhouse steak was EXCELLENT and delicious, the green beans were not fully cooked to be al dente ... we took them home and cooked them more there, and of course they were likewise excellent. Overall, however, our visit was disappointing.
The food was amazing! Prefect service and a beautiful atmosphere.
Unfriendly atmosphere. Very poor value.
There were two in my party; my filet was prepared perfectly. My business partner had the veal parmigiana; he said it was great. Ambiance was subdued and the place was empty due to Covid. The staff seemed subdued also, but they were professional.
I’ve been to several Palm’s around the country, and the west side Manhattan Palm was not a disappointment.
The whole family went to celebrate a milestone and the unveiling of The Palm’s painting of the family on the wall in the main dining room. It was amazing night; our server Craig was great and as always the manager, John completes the whole package.
Great service from Salem! We love the Palm and the food and service remain terrific.
Another fabulous experience at the Palm!! Staff was great food was incredible
Always love the Palm; hope my 837 Club points are good after Landry’s bought the chain.
The food was good, but not as good as Peter Luger’s Steakhouse. For the amount we paid, I thought the food should be excellent. The service was good. The beat part was being welcomed by the host and restaurant manager. They were warm and friendly.
Don't know what happen before covid, but right now the place is too quiet and the service is kind of slow and the food is overcooked. The price they charges is over overated comparing to other restaurant
The Palm (West Side NY) is the place to go when you want to experience that warm old-fashioned New York steakhouse atmosphere. This is not your everyday dining experience. Was taking my parents out to dinner and wanted to return to somewhere that was familiar and that we knew would deliver. We went in for an early-ish dinner so there was only maybe 2 or three other tables being serviced while we were there. Covid precautions were in place and much appreciated. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were not in a rush and wanted to stretch out our dining time, and this was the perfect place to be. The steakhouse atmosphere is laid back and not rushed so the diners can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Don’t come here if you are in a rush, this is not the place for that. We started with the calamari which was freshly fried and a wedge salad that was finely dressed, both delicious. We ordered the 36 oz NY strip for the table and a side of mushrooms and potatoes au gratin. All perfectly cooked and exquisite in taste. We finished with a delicious and creamy cheesecake. All in all, a delicious and enjoyable experience.
The only small qualm was that they originally brought out creamed spinach instead of the mushrooms, and for a restaurant that is in the upper price range and had so few clients being served, this seems like a slip up that shouldn’t be happening. However, not something to pass up this restaurant because of.
They are also no longer validating the parking they advertise on the Open Table app. So don’t expect to get the discount at the Icon Parking listed.
Salem and Edgar made our dining experience extra special.
I really enjoyed my birthday staff was great food was great thanks for putting up with my drunk self lol they were so understanding. Will be back soon
It was great to be back indoors.
The food was delicious.
Took awhile to get the correct server.
Service was superb. The hostess and wait staff were very attentive. The reduced menu was somewhat disappointing. Overall not the pre-pandemic quality of food we are accustomed to at the Palm but thanks for making me and my guest feel welcome. I will be back. The Palm is my neighborhood steak house and I highly recommend it.
We went there for lunch while the restaurants were limited to 25% capacity due to the Covid virus. So of course it was quiet and the service was great we basically had our own waitress to ourselves, the food was exceptional. A real winner.
Salem was incredible. He was helpful with the menu offerings and suggestions. We can’t wait to come back and see you all soon!
A real steakhouse, lots of history with the cartoons on the wall from the old location on second avenue. Great steak and good sides.
The hostess was really nice since the time of booking. The staff were really nice to accommodate 11 people on a short notice. My family had a great time here and I’m not the easiest critic trust me !
The COVID guidelines are enforced in this location which is a MAJOR PLUS !!
We enjoyed meeting the new manager. Our waitress, Cassandra did a great job. We can’t wait until NYC is back to full service.
Overall the restaurant was nice and the staff was incredibly friendly. The food was a little on the pricey side.
What a SH,T SHOW, food for Italian month you would not give to a dog, I have not even heard from a higher up regarding my night. My daughters BIRTHDAY
The food and service was excellent. I recommend the Chicken Parmesan.
Place was empty, and they gave us FREE desserts (YES PLURAL)
They have sold the Palm to Landry’s. The steaks are dry and not as flavorful. The traditional half and half is not made the same.
We were so disappointed.
As usual, a perfect business lunch experience.
Still the best place for good friends to meet for a great meal.
Great food and caring friendly service.
Disappointing. From being taken to table, to taking food order to getting the bill there was nothing g special about the service. It was very much a get you in and get you out feeling from the staff despite not busy evening.
Table nearby were very loud, bad language and very drunk which was disruptive to us and the other neighbouring table but at no point did the staff ask the noisy swearing table to tone it down.
The food was average, my partner and I both had steaks ordered cooked differently but both on the burnt side.
Wouldn’t return, not worth the money.
