The Palm West Side

The meal was terrible the steak was cold the service was horrible I’ve been there many many times before I would definitely not go back. They comped us for a cake they warmed our steak and didn’t even bring us a new steak. We waited to be seated with a reservation, and it took a very long time for the waiter to take our order and then an even longer time for the food to come out and they were not specially crowded.
I never write reviews but this was particularly bad.
I have eaten at the Palm west side many times. Yesterday the food was Salty and the brussel sprouts where not cooked well at all and not trimmed. Steak was very Salty. Sadly I love the palm, but must go somewhere else from. Now. On.
Didn’t have a great experience here.. made a reservation but got sat a half hour late.. hoped that the food and service would make up for that.. the prices are as expected for a steakhouse in nyc but the service doesn’t match up.. no attention to detail.. flavor of New York strip just wasn’t up to par.. not even seasoned well
Hot mess. We made open table reservations at 6:15. Even though we arrived early, we weren’t seated until 6:30. Since we were trying to attend an event at 8, we ordered as soon as we sat down. Despite that, we did not get our salads until almost 7 and our entrees until after 7:15.
The steaks were not cooked to the right temperature. A filet that was ordered medium was served medium rare. Given our rush, we didn’t ask them to fix the steak.
When I asked for our bill, I included my 837 card (loyalty card) and a $25 gift card. I received the bill and the $25 card had not been applied. I had to absorb the charge because I was out of time.
I have eaten at the Palm many times and had a good experience. This was a train wreck.
Absolutely excellent! Location is perfect for pre-Broadway. We will definitely be repeat customers!!
Disappointing dinner. My wife and I had a 6pm reservation. The restaurant ran 30 minutes behind so we had to eat much faster as we had show tickets. Her salad came out with brown lettuce. My filet came out medium rare instead of medium. I didnt have time to send it back. It also had no taste whatsoever. The green beans and French fries were very greasy. Tonight the restaurant really dropped the ball. I have been to this Palm a few times and have had a pleasant experience however this wasnt the case. Lost my confidence a bit. We didnt order desert due to time constraints.
Awesome Dinner...........food was excellent and service was great.............felt quite valued and that our comfort and enjoyment mattered.
I decided to take my office out as a thank you for all their hard work over the last few months. Not only did the The Palm with Craig Levy provide perfect food and ambience, but the service was top notch. My office was so happy and we will be back for sure. Absolutely perfect.
Incredible food and great service.
Seared Tuna was excellent! And the staff is wonderfully consistent.
Always a warm welcome, delicious food, & a perfect NYC dining experience.
Great food and spectacular service.
My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday night. The food and service were both excellent . We didn’t wait a long time for anything once we were seated and both meals were cooked to perfection. This is our second time at this location and will certainly be coming back. Better than the Atlantic City location.
We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary! The palm was very busy! We had 8:00 pm theater reservations and our reservation was at 6:30. I should have made the reservation at 6pm. We dis not get seated until 6:50pm. Everything took a long time. Our server was very nice and kind, she and we forgot to mention that we had theater tickets. By the time our lobster came out it was around 7:40/45 we rush ate it! The lobster was delicious but the sides were cold! We love the palm and will definitely return, but with more time!
food not prepared properly, does not compare at all to a good steakhouse. very disappointed
Steaks were under seasoned
Salad was salty
Family of 4 with 2 teenagers and we all found something we enjoyed. The portions are very generous so order starters accordingly.
Easy location and the hostess was very friendly. Service was excellent , attentive and professional. Prime rib was a full cut, moist, full flavor and the sides were excellent. Certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and business associates .
Excellent as usual. Love this location. Very friendly staff. Came for summer lobster
If you are an average person, and intend to leave a 20 percent tip, don’t go. They don’t want you. They cater to high end people and ignore the average. We felt we were putting our waiter out by being there. I would tell you his name but he never told us. The food was delicious though.
Always a treat to eat here.
Great waiter, delicious food and fantastic service.
A wonderful experience - this was a business lunch that was seamlessly executed by the charming restaurant staff. The food was fantastic and GREAT value given the quality.
Everything about the evening was closed when the apps arrived. We had a stupendous meal and everything was cook to perfection. I am always tuff on these guys in my reviews but it’s my favorite. You have to be honest so they can improve but look through the lies for the truth always in reviews.
Pre theater perfect everything. Dee was our server and was5star
Excellent food with large portions for sharing. Friendly service and wall drawings are unique. Plan to return when visiting NYC.
Part of my Birthday Celebration
Attentive fabulous service and great food. A perfect meal.
Well, I am not the type to complain about restaurants and my mom and I are easy to please. However for a high end, expensive, raved-about restaurant, we got a lobster that was not cooked. Then they brought a second lobster that was cooked better; but was still lukewarm. Then, there was an eyelash in our butter.
Great food - seems a bit overpriced but again it's mid-town Manhattan, so what isn't. Food quality was excellent. Our server Jeff was standing by whenever we needed anything. Manager did not come around at any point in the meal (which is typical at high end restaurants), but there were really no complaints. If you like choice steaks, sides and a nice wine list you can't go wrong at the Palm. The rare tuna appetizer was REALLY good
Service was very good but the food was not up to pricing standards. The lobster BLT was definitely not worth $20. I could not eat it. I found the $99 lobster a little dry. It was definitely re warmed. The lobster fat on the top of the lobster was dried. This is because it was sitting and re warmed. The best of my dinner was the fried onions.
I’ve been going to The Palm (LA/NY) for over 40 years. They’ve maintained a level of quality and ambiance during that time.
My concerns this time are very specific. The “Gigi” salad promised shrimp and there were two, at most. It’s a great dish but needs a more generous representation.
More serious was the mishandling of their signature porterhouse steak. Ordered “medium rare” it came almost raw. We sent it back but the refiring made the outside of the steak tough. You expect more attention to be paid to a $125 steak.
For my money, Peter Lugers is worth the drive across the bridge.
Delicious plentiful food but the noise level is not ideal
Too expensive for me. The steak was superb but you have to pay extra for everything.
My second visit here before a show and everything was perfect as the three of us were celebrating a birthday. Days later, I’m still dreaming about that 4 pound lobster and 12 ounce filet mignon cooked to absolute perfection. Shrimp cocktail/clams oreganata for appetizers were just scrumptious! The entrées and sides (wild mushrooms and spinach) were simply amazing.
Service was attentive and professionally provided by Basith. Kudos to him and the manager for their interaction/attention with the clientele.
Enticed by gelato (which was not listed on the menu – – thankfully, I didn’t have to see how many calories this was on top of everything I already ate), we had scoops of Tiramisu flavor and pistachio. Cappuccinos, and then off to see the Cher show – a perfect evening!
Although we've eaten there for years the last 2 times have not been very good. We were very specific in our ordering and we both had to have our salads redone multiple times. Additionally while the palm has a great chicken parm it was dry and tasteless this time. Hard chicken is not good. The service as well was weak. The waitress seemed to take offense at getting our order wrong. How strange. Anyway keep in mind that there are better places nearby
What more can you say, it's The Palm. Excellent service, food, drink.
Very happy with our as our last night visiting the city. We really enjoyed the old school elegant atmosphere of the restaurant. I had a seafood special and my wife had a NY steak, which were both outstanding. the balance was decent. The service was very good. The value is on the lower side but expected that going in.
Great food, excellent service.
