The Palm never disappoints. I brought friends who had never been, with the promise of old school charm and modern food options. Yes, yes, and yes on all accounts. The wagu ribeye was the best steak I have ever eaten, and I have eaten at hundreds of steakhouses. Thanks to the wonderful wait staff as well.
Great place for steak. The wine list is respectable and reasonably priced for DC. The steaks are very good, great sides. I especially recommend the brussel sprouts and the hash browns. Sides are large enough to share with a table of 4-6, half size options are available. The noise level is a bit high so if you have business to discuss get a booth.
The Palm still has an amazing steak. And the appetizers and sides are stellar. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy and loaded with lobster—really the best I have ever had! the Waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and so very friendly. My husband and I ordered non alcoholic beer which came ice cold and with an icy glass which we greatly appreciated. The portions were huge so watch your ordering. The only downside was the noise level which was off the charts—we were in a booth in the back of the restaurant and had trouble hearing our groups conversation.
The best double cut steak in the country
The DC Palm is a special place. We received excellent service and the steak was worth the splurge. I would rather eat one meal at The Palm than 100 other places.
Went for a date night on Fri at 530they have valet that starts at 6 but there is street parking for 2.00$ pretty bomb atmosphere would go again get the steak and grilled asparagus don't get the wild mushrooms
Excellent food — especially the steak. The waiter was very helpful with suggestions. It was great to have an excellent meal in a relaxed, non- rushed setting.
Excellent per usual. Recommend for a steak but all of us got the fish and it was perfect.
I was in DC for five days and tried 4 different steakhouses . The Palms had the best steak. Service was very good. It’s a nice quite place where you can visit. I was very impressed.
In my opinion, there are only all of perhaps seven restaurants in DC that can still claim "service" as something they aspire to provide. The Palm DC (at least the times I have visited) is one of them. Kind and immaculate service, dependable and consistent quality of food (the one place if you are looking for US beef in THIS general area would be the place that prides themselves in prime rib (hint)). I am so grateful that this restaurant is in my neighborhood. THANK YOU to everyone at The Palm DC.
Seated immediately; patient and attentive service; excellent food and generous cocjrail.
I was a bit disappointed. My wife takes me to The Palm for my birthday dinner annually. We have always had an outstanding experience. First of all the noise level in the restaurant was intolerable. It was so loud, you could not hold a conversation at the table without yelling. I ordered a crab cake as appetizer. There was a hair in it. Told waiter, not sure if he thought I was joking. Nothing was done about it. Then I ordered a 18 oz New York Strip medium. It was served rare. The waiter returned the steak to be cooked properly. As you well know once a steak is taken off the grill or out of the oven, you don't put it back in without ruining it. The steak was returned dry and tough. The manager then came to the table and was very courteous and replaced the steak, which in turn was served just as rare as the first one. At this point, I just accepted the steak. One of my guest had to return his ribeye steak, for being under cooked as well. Now we get the check. We were charged for items we did not order. We were charged for a creme' brulee that was brought out while the staff sang Happy Birthday. First time in 5 yrs we were charged for that. Which is fine, but I did not order it. The waiter did take off the items off the bill that were not ordered. All in all I am a bit disappointed in the food we were served for a bill including tip that totaled over $900.00.
Date with fiance. Good time... restaurant got kind of loud around 7 pm. Good steak but overpriced. Crabcakes were delicious. Scallop appetizer... only 3 scallops... ideally, you'd have at least 4, in my opinion. Service was professional. Asian lady handled initial contact and kept glasses filled and table clean. Waiter was on it and very professional.
I paid 50-some dollars for a gristly and overcooked ribeye. Attempting to eat it in the pitch dark made it even more difficult to carve around the gristle. I finally gave up and, not wanting to make a scene in front of my guests, who enjoyed their meals, didn’t complain; just left it half eaten. Have had great experiences at the Palm in the past, but I’m not sure I’d go back now.
Made us feel very welcome and wished us a happy anniversary.
Service is always very good. The 10 oz. steak was tender (but the prime double cut sirloin in the evening is outstanding).
Great great. food, great staff, and a great place to dine
Always a favorite
I always eat at the one in Los Angeles. Dining at the oldest one in Washington D.C. was a treat to celebrate my son's 21st birthday.
The food wasn’t that great.
Have been to the two Palms in NY, Tyson's Corner, VA and DC over the years and the quality of food is consistently great, the menu is expansive and should satisfy all palates and the wine list is comprehensive. The service and professionalism of the wait staff is superb. They ensure a wonderful, memorable dining experience.
5pm. Entree food cold, crab cakes, and creamy spinach cold, half and half cold,
Water glass cracked
Stacey’s last night at DC location we were told
Awesome restaurant and great service. Food selection was fantastic.going to bring our friends with us next time. 70 miles away and totally worth the trip.
Excellent lunch--salads recommended. Servers were attentive but not intrusive.
One of the best meals I ever had. Service was impeccable
John the waiter is always outstanding.
I always enjoy The Palm, for the service, ambiance and food. It is a classic.
Great lunch options especially the burgers!
Best Service Hands Down. Food was delicious. Great dinner overall.
One of the best restaurants in town. Food, service and ambiance wonderful as usual.
As always The Palm is amazing! Jimmy is very attentive and provided excellent service.
Very expensive but good food
As always, the service and quality at The Palm was top notch.
Great meal. Good recommendations by our server. Very good and fairly priced wine list in the context of a well rated and established steakhouse.
Group thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
been to the Palm at multiple locations over the years. This was by far the most disappointing experience I've ever had there. The service was very good, no issue there but the food honestly was very "average" and for the prices they charge is should be exceptional. I ordered the bone-in ribeye steak a staple and I don't think I've ever been disappointed at any quality restaurant which the flavor and quality of the steak. My steak had zero flavor. So, i won't be coming back to the Palm. If i want to spend $250+ on dinner for two there are many better options in my opinion.
Loudest “fine dining” venue I’ve ever been to. Service was excellent but steaks were only mediocre. Certainly not worth $60 each.
A DC institution.
My server was awesome sauce....quick and informative.
Knew what was going on about town!
So friendly and went the extra mile....before I thought of something she had it at the table
and the "side kicks" (i dont know what to call them) were just as friendly and swift
Awesome experience! And it was a birthday! the singing was great! :- )
