Terrible service. Had to constantly ask for things. Our server would not do anything on his own. Whether it be needed more refills, or asking for lemons (three different times), we had to constantly track someone down to provide us service. I eat at steak houses around the city quite often, and in the past year or two, this place is definitely gone downhill.

This was the anniversary of my husband and I first date. We have been married for 10 years and we always celebrate the beginning of our destiny. The greeting we received at the front desk, the ambiance of the restaurant, the service, and the food made for a great anniversary dinner.

I’ve been to the Palm in Las Vegas. The quality of the large Rib Eye in DC was inferior. It was not as tender or flavorful. The Vegas Rib Eye was the best I ever had.

Went for my husband’s birthday and they made it a special and memorable dinner! The Maitre’D shook his hand when we arrived and they had a birthday card signed by the restaurant staff waiting at the table. They even put a candle in his cheesecake! Those small acts of thoughtfulness were so sweet. The food was equally memorable- the wagyu steak was tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The cocktails are smooth and refreshing. Will definitely return for a special occasion dinner- maybe New Year’s!

The best dinner we have ever had in the DC area. We began with a double Bushmills up and a Belvedere Martin while perusing the menu. iWe ordered the lobster bisque to start, followed by a filet mignon and a ribeye (Wagyu Rib-Eye Steak 12 ounce , with a side of wild mushrooms. Accompanied with a bottle of Chateaunuef du Pape {the good one). Finished with a Cheesecake and Apple Pie. Simple. Fabulous. Incredibly delicious. We are back in our hotel and still raving about the dinner. But, what made the evening absolutely perfect was our waiter, Jim (from Pittsburgh). As expected,, he was very knowledgeable about the menu. What was not expected was t

We were visiting from out of town and made a reservation for The Palm for Thanksgiving dinner. They were serving their regular menu and a turkey dinner. It appeared the specialty was steaks so we opted for the filet and prime rib. Sides were mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The filet was prepared correctly at medium rare but the prime rib wasn't. Sides were horrible. The mashed potatoes had no flavor and were grainy. Creamed spinach tasted funny...like they had put cloves in it? We each had one glass of wine too.
I wasn't impressed considering the price was $$$$. I wouldn't go back.

Thanksgiving dinner without the hassle and the cleanup. Food was excellent and as typical for Thanksgiving, we had leftovers. Excellent choice.

Wonderful evening and spot to celebrate a couple of birthdays and an anniversary. The steaks and sides are consistently amazing. And the service (Rick) is outstanding. He wants to make sure you are 100% happy. Thank you - again.

Used to go to the Palm frequently and ALWAYS for special occasions. We just went for my husband's birthday and were so very disappointed. The best thing about the evening was the service. The wine was good and the strip steak was also good. We ordered the tuna app which I didn't eat but understand was good. Our entrees were Strip (GOOD), pasta in white clam sauce (OK), crab cakes (TERRIBLE). Our sides were hash potatoes (OK) and sauteed spinach (GOOD). In the past there was never a bad meal. All entrees were served to perfection. The most disappointing entree was the crab cakes which had too many bread crumbs and no flavor. We would have sent them back but my husband's steak was not cooked properly at first so they gave us another one of those. I didn't feel comfortable switching out the crab cakes too.

There are too many good restaurants to spend this kind of money on mediocre food. I'll never go back. :(

The Washington Palm is my favorite of all of The Palms. The staff is fabulous as is the food. I've never had a meal there that I felt was less than great. I look forward to my next visit.

Hadn't been there for some time due to no longer working in DC but it has stayed the same. The food was very good and the waiter that we had was excellent. There when you needed him but not on top of you. Made excellent recommendations. Would certainly ask for him on our next visit.
My only negative comment would the size of my filet. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the 9oz. When it arrived, I was surprised. It appeared to be more of a 4 - 5 oz. For the price, it was disappointing and certainly unexpected. I would usually send something like this back but we were celebrating my Wife's birthday and didn't want her to have to wait for my dinner. It is not unusual for me to order a 9oz filet, so I do know the difference.

We have eaten at the one in Tysons Corner before and really enjoyed it, so we decided to go to this one in DC. We ordered the same thing that we had ordered at the Tysons Corner location so I do have something to compare it to. We ordered a Caesar salad with anchovies on the side and they forgot to bring out the anchovies. We asked the waiter to please bring the anchovies and he must’ve completely forgotten because he never did bring them. The place was not busy at all so it was not that. We ordered he I he tuna and it was smaller than the ones we have ordered before and was not all that special for the price.

This has been my friend's favorite restaurant for many years, but I was disappointed in our meal and service. My friend was served a warm beer, my filet was overcooked (I ordered medium-rare) and the sides were mediocre at best. It used to be DC standard and a place to see and be seen, but I won't be going out of my way for The Palm.

While the 3-course lunch offering is an excellent value at $26, my New York strip steak was significantly undercooked. I requested "medium" and received it "rare," with a cool center. It's the kind of issue you could expect from an ordinary restaurant cooking steak, but certainly not from a steakhouse. Left very disappointed.
