The Palm Washington DC
Book your next event with us
The Palm in DC just does it right. They were slammed with a big event but still we were seated per our reservation on time. While Jimmy is our go-to guy he was waiting the event so we had Chuck who is always great too.
NY Strip, Brussels and Garlic Mashed were all perfectly
Don’t overlook The Palm in DC. Great staff and food and not overly fussy!
The Palm is always consistent — great food, very attentive service, expensive & very loud — but you know to expect all of those going in.
Our main entrees were fine sides not so much, not as good as it used to be.
A family favorite for special occasions. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. Love the creamed spinach.
Consistently excellent food and service. A bit crowded and noisy, however.
Always love the palm
We were so excited to go to the Palm in DC, while on vacation...as we normally love the dining experience! But this was not a good dining experience from beginning to end! Our waiter, Mike, had too many tables to take care of..and we didn't have good service because of that. When we ordered our dinner, the food wasn't as we would normally expect of the Palm, either.
We normally love the Shrimp Bruno appetizer, but this one was completely swimming in sauce, and it was a huge disappointment! We had to beg the busboys for more water and more bread, as our waiter was busy with other tables. When it came time for our steak, we ordered the $62 Prime NY Strip "A la Stone"...it was sliced with sauteed onions , and we ordered it Medium. It was the worst steak EVER!!! I can make a much better steak on the grill at home, and I am no chef!! It was so hard and fatty on the ends, we couldn't even eat it. As the maitre d walked by to check on us, we told him that we had been waiting on another dinner plate and Bearnaise sauce (which I specifically ordered with the meal)..and we were still waiting for it, while the steak was getting cold. He finally brought us the sauce, but we could only eat half the steak- as it was a terrible cut! No way was that a Prime steak, nor was it an 18 ounce steak!
Chris ended up not charging us for the shrimp or the steak, but who cares! We didn't go to the Palm to have a free disgusting dinner! We went, as 837 Club members, expecting a fine dining experience, while on vacation! And they just shrugged their shoulders and said sorry. It's just not OK for the Palm. We had many, many choices for dining out in DC, and should not have been treated like that. My husband said he won't go back to the Palm, as we always enjoy all the steak house competition...
Very nice experience
Great service we always enjoy the food and the people !
This visit was a special treat for my 8-year-old son and not only was it a great meal but he was treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed it. An above and beyond effort on a busy Saturday evening.
I celebrated my twins birthday and we had a blast. The service and food was superb.
One thing you have a right to expect at a steakhouse - any steakhouse - is that your steak will be cooked perfectly. My wife ordered hers rare, but it was cooked medium - inexcusable! Also, it was so noisy that it was impossible to carry on a conversation, even though there were lots of empty tables.
Really delicious food. It was a great way to start our weekend in DC
Great service, great food.
Great cuisine and service!
Although it is a little pricey, the Palm is somewhat of a legendary stopping point when in DC. The walls are lined with the heads of famous people who have dined there, and the ambiance is old school DC, with white table cloths and darker lighting. The wait staff is on top of the game. Try the Chicken Parm, as it is a generous portion. Unfortunately all other sides are a la carte (including that you have to order pasta as a side with the chicken farm, which seemed kind of ridiculous). When in DC, it's worth the experience.
We celebrated our 7th anniversary and were welcomed with a sweet card from The Palm staff. Our waiter was charismatic and genuine. You cannot beat the ambiance, love the caricatures on the wall. We had the salmon, chicken parmigiana (didn’t realize it didn’t come with pasta so be sure to order), and they sent us home with a slice of cheesecake. Overall lovely experience and we’ll worth the experience.
Server was wonderful but the noise level was so bad.
Excellent as always. Was looking forward to pasta, but As someone with food allergies, wish there was a gluten free pasta available as an alternative.
We went for my mom birthday, it was awesome food and service. Reggie make our visit the best, he dose his job very well, his service is top notch! Once I gain thank you for the great service!
Great place, great vibe, great service and great food
Our dinner was ruined due to drunk diners at the table next to us. Our table staff was superb. I almost asked our rude neighbors to pay for our dinner. We were meeting an old friend and very very difficult to carry on a conversation AND we were even in the “quieter” dining space.
Had high expectations for such an iconic restaurant, our app. was very good but the entrees were very lacking. I ask the waitress if they could do a veal piccata on a bed of pasta which was extra and she said would be no problem. My guest ordered seafood pasta which was also lacking in flavor. Overall everything else was fine. Should of ordered off the menu.
The Palm-DC is one of my favorite spots. The steaks and seafood are fresh, well-prepared and presented and always tasty. The waitstaff is fantastic and the service is always impeccable. If you really want a good steak or a great lobster, don’t miss the Palm.
Great service by Reggie!
we had the cobb salad. Waiter suggested we split it and he was right as we each only ate half. However it was excellent.
My son and I were in town for the Army Expo and the Army 10-miler. Great dinner at the Palm, our server was amazing and the entire restaurant was exactly what I expected it to be! My son’s first time there (he’s 14) and already he’s a YUGE Palm fan!
Thank you Palm!!
Excellent food and excellent service, as always!
It was my birthday and they went out of their way to make it special!!! Five stars for that!
Great food (from starters right through to dessert), outstanding service and beautiful outdoor ambiance with glass shield. I especially enjoyed the bacon we had as a starter, and the 7 layer chocolate ganache cake I had for dessert with a requested scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. My entre was New York Strip steak, which I expected to be slightly nicer but enjoyed nonetheless. The mash potatoes and creamy spinach went great with the steak. The food isn't particularly cheap, but I'd say for the portion sizes and the quality, it's certainly worth it. Generally, the sides can be shared by at least two people so if you each order individual sides, unless you're ridiculously famished, you'll end up wasting a lot of food or carrying it home.
The food as always was exceptional. My guest and I both had the filet medallions from the power lunch menu and both entree's were perfectly prepared.
Thanks to Michael, Rick and the crew for a great experience!
The entire experience was rushed. Most of the food was premade and not very good.
Good experience. Always feels like fsmily
The food seemed bland. Not much flavor. Service was good.
We had a large party of 17- international colleagues and east coasters. We were given a private room and the service was attentive, friendly, the food all arrived at the same time we were on a tight schedule as we had a DC tour scheduled afterwards and they had us out on time but did not feel rushed. Wine selection was exquisite and the food choices were all very well received
Monday chop salad is great as is it’s back story. Rib eye is excellent. Corn was perfect. Service impeccable.
Always a good meal at the Palm...until a rat saunters by the window. We were sitting on the front porch.
Excellent food and friendly service. It is where we go when we are hungry for a great steak.
I’ve been going here for many years. Great, reliable place.
