For one of the more expensive meals I've paid for, the value was very lacking, most chain steakhouses in this class are. The dining area is very crowded and loud, and the steak, although good, was, well, a steak. The lobster was rubbery, most likely frozen. The appetizers (lobster bisque) and the desserts (cheese cske), however, were very good. As was the friendly staff. Free valet parking also a plus.
Service (Reggie) was excellent, food was great (mashed potatoes were a bit dry), but it was extremely loud and crowded. We were so close to the table next to us my husband had the back of someone's chair either hitting him or under his arm throughout our entire meal.
Excellent even though it was a little slow for Valentine’s Day!!!
It was my first time at The Palm. I must admit, I was disappointed. Server was not very personable. Food was very ok. For the cost, I must say I was underwhelmed. The decor with the pictures could be updated and be more inclusive of diverse culture.
We were excited to try the Palm. The ambiance is nice and the service is quick. Foe the price point we’ve had better tasting food but it was good to try once.
Power lunch and service cannot be beat!
Great service from Chuck!
I have always loved the Palm. Restaurants of its kind are rare. The atmosphere is calming and both reminiscent of times long past, yet relevant for today. The food is always outstanding. Service is too. The staff are knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, but they don't hover. Sometimes patrons get very loud, which can be intrusive. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every single moment.
The staff was friendly and attentive, yet allow space and privacy. Looking forward to returning and exploring some different items on the menu.
Fine dining at it's best! The food was delicious and the portions appropriate. The apple cider glazed Atlantic salmon was delicious. The service was great. In my opinion, the Philadelphia location is more elegant .
We are so happy you enjoyed yourself here at the Palm restaurant. Thank you for the 5 star rating. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit. Vincent/Restaurant Manager
What more can I say about The Palm? It’s dignified, quiet enough, and food is always superb. Service supreme.

Love the Palm and Chuck makes you feel like you are his best customer, he is amazing, other restaurants should hire him to teach a Master Class in Service ❤️

I’ve been coming here for 40+ years and I love it as much as ever!
This was my second visit, first was over a year ago. Had the 14oz Strip, perfect both times. Also the Barrel aged Manhattan was great.
The first visit I was in the middle of the restaurant so it was kind of loud but this time had a side both and it was much better.
Only difference was the desert. Had the Donut Holes and they were not very fresh. Still good but I remember the first time they were much better.
But overall, fantastic.
Food was good, but not great. Service was outstanding.
First class service and incredible food. We brought friends that had not been to a Palm before and they were truly impressed.

Wonderful atmosphere, food and also with delicious creme brulee! Very nice evening for my wife and me.
Easily the best restaurant in D.C. for lunch. Superb cuisine, excellent service and traditionally comforting surroundings. Whether you dine outside in the glass-enclosed patio or deep inside at a table or booth, you will enjoy the experience very much.
This was our first time at The Palms.
Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere !
My filet mignon was very good. Sad thing was I was not able to eat my filet upon arrival......
Our server had mistakenly brought my husband the wrong order.
He brought a lamb chop entree INSTEAD OF the veal chop my husband had ordered !
So obviously I would not eat my meal until my husband got his correct dinner !
The steak was cooked well but not great. It was such a large piece of meat that it needed to be butchered a bit better. Don't get me wrong, if I were to go to a business meeting at the Palm I would devour my food. I just don't think I would want to go back with my wife and toddler and drop $300+ on a meal.
Also, seating us next to the kitchen is not really my choice of good seating standards. I get that I had a quiet child with me but still...Oh and I forgot the icing on the cake which my wife convinced me to not let it stew (but it did), the host seated 3 series of guests that came after us and probably also had reservations after our time, before they seated us!
The food was great, our server was busy but attentive. Our biggest frustration was that it was very noisy! We were out to enjoy a nice dinner and couldn’t even hear each other talk.
Brussels sprouts were awesome!
The Palm is our favorite restaurant. We always have the most pleasant experience from. The hostess to most definitely waitress and waiter. LaDon is our absolute favorite waitress. Reggie filled in her shoes on Saturday night and he was wonderful. Markez’s birthday dinner was absolute amazing as usual. Thanks Palm for always showing us exquisite fine dining.
Food was great, service may have been even better. Just an overall great experience. It's definitely pricey but I felt as though the overall experience made that OK for an occasion.
Excelente servicio, muy cómodo y tranquilo. Los alimentos muy ricos pero pedí un NYork y la carne no tenía consistencia....por lo demás Excelente!
Reggie was great.
Great place for a birthday celebration. Very friendly service and excellent food.
Consistently the best service, appetizers, steak and of course, the amazing chicken parmigiana! My friends and co-workers love The Palm DC! Highly recommended!
Palm is a nice restaurant to go too and very sexy on the inside.
Reggie - was our waiter - great guy, great service - very personable and a great experience
Reggie was awesome. Made us feel right at home and everything he recommend was right on point. Very professional and very observant. Never had to look for him if we needed something. He was on top of it all.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. This place is an old classic. Not your average steakhouse with the dark woods, crown moldings etc. It is a not particularly elegant but there's still something special about it. There are cool caricatures of all the famous people who frequent this place when in DC. You can tell its an established venue with a vast following. The lunch menu was brief, not one of these encyclopedias you find at other upscale restaurants. The food doesn't disappoint. We ordered salad and burgers. The Cesar was very good but the the Baby Kale salad was fantastic. The Bacon cheeseburger is not for the faint of heart. The bacon is as thick as cardboard and delicious. The meat temperature was spot on. Service was excellent. Our waiter was an old pro. All in all a great experience.
Best New Years Eve dinner ever !
New Year’s Eve
All the above. The Palm fits every occasion.
We have been coming to the Palm Restaurant since Clinton was president. This is the first time I have been disappointed by the food. I sliced New York steak with peppers and onions was cooked perfectly, but that could not make up for the poor cut of meet. Approximately two inches of the strip was solid fat and gristle. There was also a rind of gristly fat along one long edge of the cut. The rest of the steak and its accompaniments were excellent, but the substandard quality of the cut spoiled the dinner for me.
Otherwise, ambience, service and hospitality were, as always, excellent and in line with the price for the meal.
Our waiter, John, was outstanding. He gave us just the right amount of attention and shared stories about his life! He had a wonderful sense of humor. The food was the best I have ever eaten! I had lobster. It was prepared perfectly. My husband had the rib eye. He said it was the best steak be had ever eaten. The sides are served family style and were great. Dessert was great and the cappuccino was served with dessert. If we are ever back in DC this is a go to again place!
Party of 10. We had a great experience!!!!
An enjoyable evening with two of my children. Close proximity to a Metro station a big plus.
