Awesome wine selection and fabulous steaks. What's not to like???
As always from the minute you walk into The Palm, the excellent staff is there to help. Once seated, excellent drinks from awesome mixologists. Started with shrimp cocktails and clams and they were excellent with our drinks. Salads were the great midpoint of a relaxing and fun dinner. Steak and salmon were the main dishes and prepared perfectly. Server was spot on as was all of the staff.
A perfect evening, both the meal & the service was divine.
One of our favorite restaurants in the D.C. area for years !!
From the time I arrived to the time I departed, I received excellent service! The food and drinks were great. Even the seating was nice. We sat in a booth and it was so comfortable. I will definitely dine there again.
Everything was “fine” but not memorable.
Nothing outstanding or special.
Food was good but not great and not worth the price.
Service was friendly but rushed and clumsy.
Would not put this on my “to repeat” list.
The atmosphere was very nice, food was fresh! Upper Eastside drimk was fabulous. I'll definitely come back to try the cocktails.
The Palm DC is always our “go to” favorite, can’t miss dining experience...in the early ‘80s, my boyfriend at the time, took me there when he was a young attorney and I was headed back for my Senior year of college the next day. As he liked to tell everyone, I was so upset about the thought of us being apart, that I cried my way through dinner, all while simultaneously devouring a four pound lobster:). Yes, that boyfriend became my husband and we had and raised our 3 sweet children here in DC. He is still at the same firm where we met and we still enjoy meals at The Palm. Last Sunday, we were there for dinner with our 28-year-old son, and I looked across the room at the very table for 2 that we dined at years before -you know, those tables along the wall. I could almost visualize our younger selves that night back in ‘81, and then I looked back across the booth from me and saw my two guys. Thanks to The Palm for all the great years of amazing steaks, lobsters, hash browns, Caesar salads, bags of donuts and consistently superb service ...and cheers to many more! -Kathryn
Everything was excellent, everyone polite and welcoming. Service and food was incredible
Superlative Experience! - A classic steak house managed by professionals who treat everyone well, and pay attention to the details. We were there for an Anniversary dinner. We were warmly greeted on arrival, acknowledging our special occasion, and there was a signed card on our table. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. The food and wine were outstanding. The Manager came by to make sure all was well. Everyone in the full restaurant appeared to be enjoying their evening as much as we did!
Gabby was gabby!!!!
The Palm never disappoints. It's one of the best restaurants in Washington D.C. They've been serving up wonderful steaks and seafood for almost 100 years. My wife and I visit The Palm every time we visit D.C.
Great food and service!
The Lobster dinner was fabulous as usual! The staff was attentive and very helpful. Great place for birthdays and anniversaries.
Wonderful lobster dinner that was a great value. Service was great but we were seated outside and the noise level from other tables was quite loud.
Chuck was fantastic. Top notch waiter. Food was awesome
The place to go for DC power lunches. The original power lunch spot
I would recommend it with caveats. The steaks were excellent. The sides were ok, and the noise level was high. It is not a place for a romantic or quiet night out. But the steaks really were outstanding.
The lobsters were terrific but overshadowed by the service provided by our waiter John. Try their Palm beer which is a Belgium brew. Rob B
Great service, quality and value; great attention and ambiance
Great! The lobster special is always a treat!
Overpriced and loud. As a first time customer, I kept it simple and ordered the chicken sandwich. The chicken was cut up into pieces and tough, could not bite through the sandwich. Everything that was on the sandwich fell off and needless to say very messy for a chicken sandwich. We were there for a staff outing and could barely hear each other speak. Very loud! Others were not pleased with their food as well. I will not be going back.
I went to the Palm with my mother to celebrate my birthday and they were absolutely delightful! My mother called ahead and told them it was my birthday, so they had a card (signed by the staff) waiting for me! Everyone was super sweet and the food was phenomenal! There were so many birthdays that evening, so the overall mood was very energetic! I loved my Chilean Sea Bass so much, I sent a message for the chef (and he joined the team in singing happy birthday to me)!
My only constructive feedback was that our server seemed to be a bit busy with other tables, so it often took her quite a while to get back to our table when we wanted to ask for something.
Overall, the dining experience was excellent and I will definitely be back!
Absolutely love The Palm. The ambiance and the food was great. The lobster is the best I ever had. My husband and I will be returning soon.
Food was good, had the filet. The noise was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation at the table. And my ears hurt afterwards. They either have too many people jammed in there or need to get some acoustic dampening.
I celebrated my birthday at The Palms. The food, service and restaurant overall was AMAZING!
Made to order, from every aspect, being satisfyingly successful!
Thank you for your review!
We often frequent the Palm in other cities and were terribly disappointed by the service we received. Had to wait over 20 minutes for a menu, over 30 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge our table, had to get others to find our waiter (several times), asked for the manager twice and literally had to flag him down for him to come to the table, the food took forever to come out and after all of that the food was just okay. We certainly noticed that only our table was being disregarded in this manner. I do not want to say it was a race issue but I do not have another explanation for the poor service we received. Once we were finally able to speak to the manager, the waiter was a little more attentive but it was too little too late. We will never return to the DC location. Capital Grille or The Palm in Tyson’s are much better options.
Thank you for your valued feedback. We have sent you a DM.
I usually enjoy the Palm DC. Tonight was not a good night there. Terrible service and mediocre food and the manager Mia. Don’t think I will go back.
Staff was professional, accommodating and simply exceptional overall. Thanks to Mitch, Sarah, and Nate for making my lengthy stay so lovely. Housekeeping was consistent and pleasant as well. Highly recommend.
Fresh food but lacks seasoning.
Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Of course the Lobster special was running. Yep got that. Outstanding. Great salads and perfect Lobster. Some berries for dessert. Always a great meal here.
Wonderful night! Food was amazing and the chef was kind to fix our gluten free and dairy free son his own veggies and steak! We were so grateful!
Great service and food, fun night!
This place is disappointing. They moved our group of four after we were already seated. The food was ok, with the dessert (flourless chocolate cake) being the best. Fries were not good. Lobster salad was the best entree. I won’t go back.
HOPE TO GO TO ONE OF THE OTHER PALMS. DID NOT REALIZE ONE IS IN SAN ANTONIO
Avery good evening with good food, ambiance and service.
Thank you for your kind review-we hope to see you soon back The Palm DC!
We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at The Palm and it was perfect. From the moment we walked in the door, my husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the service and staff.
We make certain to visit the Palm in every city we travel to and this one did not disappoint!
Service was professional, food consistently amazing!!
