Reggie was a wonderful server. The noise level was a little overwhelming initially, but as the night went on, it made for easier conversation as people left
Had a great birthday dinner at The Palm! The bartender and my server were extremely helpful and friendly.
Good food good service
Great Thanksgiving dinner!
Good Thanksgiving dinner, plenty of turkey, more than any of us could eat. Those who didn't enjoyed a good steak dinner, fries, creamed spinach and all the good Palm selections. The usual good Palm service and food. Not too busy for Thanksgiving, good we talk and hear each other. We will be back.
Thanksgiving with my daughter and her friends . What a great time , and the food was amazing . We will be back soon!
Some of our table’s food looked good, but I ordered the crab cakes for main and it was absolutely horrible. Way too much breadcrumbs and way too greasy. The delicate flavour of the crab was completely drenched in these two. I expected much more from the Palm.
Food and service are first class, however the ambiance does not live up to those first 2 elements: tables are tight and it is really loud. Lots of kids and teenagers in sweat pants and hoodies (at least on a Saturday night) just doesn’t make it feel as special occasion as it used to
My husband birthday! He had a great time.
Went for lunch and got NY strip. Super thin and tough. Nothing to write home about. Others at table liked there food. Salmon, filet and salad.
I felt rushed and I was overcharged for Power Lunch
Was very disappointed that the veal parm lunch special was what amounted to a smaller-than-appetizer portion. Truly surprised that the Palm's kitchen would allow something like that to be sent out to a customer.
The Palm is not what it used to be. The menu lacks many of the entrees from the "old days". I had a salad that was drenched in dressing and basically not edible. It was the wedge salad. My tuna appetizer was fairly good but nothing to die for. Overall I don't plan to return but my husband and I hadn't been in a long time and wanted to go back for old time's sake. It's just not the same!! Oh and the prices for the steaks are ridiculous - considering there's absolutely no labor in cooking up a steak, really, $60 is not a fair price.
The Palm in DC just does it right. They were slammed with a big event but still we were seated per our reservation on time. While Jimmy is our go-to guy he was waiting the event so we had Chuck who is always great too.
NY Strip, Brussels and Garlic Mashed were all perfectly
Don’t overlook The Palm in DC. Great staff and food and not overly fussy!
The Palm is always consistent — great food, very attentive service, expensive & very loud — but you know to expect all of those going in.
The steak was, as always, delicious. The fried onions were also great. So was the crab soup. But the fried potato chips were burnt. A few were almost black. Who let those out of the kitchen? The other problem was the service. The waiter would disappear for long periods of time, and as a result, we could not order another drink or send back the burnt potatoes. And we arrived at 5:30, so it's not like the dining room was full and the waiter was overburdened. From our seat, I could look straight back to the hallway off the dining room where six or so waiters were constantly gathered looking at their phones. No wonder I could not get ahold of one of them!
Our main entrees were fine sides not so much, not as good as it used to be.
A family favorite for special occasions. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. Love the creamed spinach.
Consistently excellent food and service. A bit crowded and noisy, however.
Always love the palm
We were so excited to go to the Palm in DC, while on vacation...as we normally love the dining experience! But this was not a good dining experience from beginning to end! Our waiter, Mike, had too many tables to take care of..and we didn't have good service because of that. When we ordered our dinner, the food wasn't as we would normally expect of the Palm, either.
We normally love the Shrimp Bruno appetizer, but this one was completely swimming in sauce, and it was a huge disappointment! We had to beg the busboys for more water and more bread, as our waiter was busy with other tables. When it came time for our steak, we ordered the $62 Prime NY Strip "A la Stone"...it was sliced with sauteed onions , and we ordered it Medium. It was the worst steak EVER!!! I can make a much better steak on the grill at home, and I am no chef!! It was so hard and fatty on the ends, we couldn't even eat it. As the maitre d walked by to check on us, we told him that we had been waiting on another dinner plate and Bearnaise sauce (which I specifically ordered with the meal)..and we were still waiting for it, while the steak was getting cold. He finally brought us the sauce, but we could only eat half the steak- as it was a terrible cut! No way was that a Prime steak, nor was it an 18 ounce steak!
Chris ended up not charging us for the shrimp or the steak, but who cares! We didn't go to the Palm to have a free disgusting dinner! We went, as 837 Club members, expecting a fine dining experience, while on vacation! And they just shrugged their shoulders and said sorry. It's just not OK for the Palm. We had many, many choices for dining out in DC, and should not have been treated like that. My husband said he won't go back to the Palm, as we always enjoy all the steak house competition...
Very nice experience
Bro Level +10. Dress like a slob and fit right in. Shorts and flip flops welcome. Not the Palm you remember
Great service we always enjoy the food and the people !
This visit was a special treat for my 8-year-old son and not only was it a great meal but he was treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed it. An above and beyond effort on a busy Saturday evening.
I celebrated my twins birthday and we had a blast. The service and food was superb.
One thing you have a right to expect at a steakhouse - any steakhouse - is that your steak will be cooked perfectly. My wife ordered hers rare, but it was cooked medium - inexcusable! Also, it was so noisy that it was impossible to carry on a conversation, even though there were lots of empty tables.
Really delicious food. It was a great way to start our weekend in DC
Great service, great food.
Great cuisine and service!
Although it is a little pricey, the Palm is somewhat of a legendary stopping point when in DC. The walls are lined with the heads of famous people who have dined there, and the ambiance is old school DC, with white table cloths and darker lighting. The wait staff is on top of the game. Try the Chicken Parm, as it is a generous portion. Unfortunately all other sides are a la carte (including that you have to order pasta as a side with the chicken farm, which seemed kind of ridiculous). When in DC, it's worth the experience.
We celebrated our 7th anniversary and were welcomed with a sweet card from The Palm staff. Our waiter was charismatic and genuine. You cannot beat the ambiance, love the caricatures on the wall. We had the salmon, chicken parmigiana (didn’t realize it didn’t come with pasta so be sure to order), and they sent us home with a slice of cheesecake. Overall lovely experience and we’ll worth the experience.
Server was wonderful but the noise level was so bad.
Excellent as always. Was looking forward to pasta, but As someone with food allergies, wish there was a gluten free pasta available as an alternative.
We went for my mom birthday, it was awesome food and service. Reggie make our visit the best, he dose his job very well, his service is top notch! Once I gain thank you for the great service!
Great place, great vibe, great service and great food
Our dinner was ruined due to drunk diners at the table next to us. Our table staff was superb. I almost asked our rude neighbors to pay for our dinner. We were meeting an old friend and very very difficult to carry on a conversation AND we were even in the “quieter” dining space.
Had high expectations for such an iconic restaurant, our app. was very good but the entrees were very lacking. I ask the waitress if they could do a veal piccata on a bed of pasta which was extra and she said would be no problem. My guest ordered seafood pasta which was also lacking in flavor. Overall everything else was fine. Should of ordered off the menu.
The Palm-DC is one of my favorite spots. The steaks and seafood are fresh, well-prepared and presented and always tasty. The waitstaff is fantastic and the service is always impeccable. If you really want a good steak or a great lobster, don’t miss the Palm.
