The Ribeye was fantastic but the other 3 people had the Turkey dinner(Thanksgiving)and it was dry and blah.
Our waiter, Reggie, was fantastic and the place itself was very nice.
Thanksgiving at the Palm with my family was wonderful!
The Palm in DuPont Circle is my favorite DC dinner spot. Relaxed, unpretentious, in a word, "civilized." Excellent Martini, by the way, which often makes all the difference. Love the place. SD
so disappointed. the palm in d.c. has always been our go to celebration point for business deals. Jimmy and Tony were GREAT. but they were unfortunately understaffed. I had heard that new ownership took over in 2020. it shows as I doubt we will go back despite the fantastic service. note to ownership: if you can support your staff, then you probably shouldn't be in the business in the first place.
The Palm is always a wonderful place to dine. I never tire of it.
Given Covid issues, the evening was spectacular. The service was 5 star. Honestly, it was the best meal I've ever had a the Palm, and I've had many a meal there.
The Palm consistent provided an excellent dining experience. The menu, the wine list, the food and the service are alway great!
The Palm is a DC staple and is never disappointing. The staff is stellar!
Incredible food with outstanding service. It does not get better than this.
For the record The DC Palm is one of my favorites. The staff and regulars are like family, and I miss the bar during the pandemic. The restaurant has done a remarkable job of staying open. In March all of the Palms were purchased by Landry's. I have no opinion on if this is good or bad, the family founders of the Palm wanted to retire. With a new owner sometime comes change both for economy and efficiency. Case in point is the crab cake. In the past The Palm offered a crab cake sandwich that was pan fried, as well as an entree broiled crab cake. This meant that they had 2 different crab cakes, but each with a unique purpose. Well efficiency won out over serving an excellent entree crab cake and the broiled crab cake is history. It's really too bad. I'm not sure if the new owners reviewed past sales, but I'm sure The Plam served a lot more broiled crab cakes then pan fried.
Birthday dinner for a 23 year old carnivore. We had to take food home!
Ambiance was so-so due to Covid, but food and service was excellent.
Went for the Italian Heritage Sunday Dinner Special featuring Veal Chop Parm for 2, but was served only a single veal chop to be shared, a disappointingly small portion for 2 diners. At $80, not a good value
As always, the team at The Palm DC was amazing. Fabulous food combined with great service from Chuck, Rick and the team made for a top notch experience.
We had a party of six... our server was very quick on her feet she made sure we had everything we asked for from food to our drinks even if they didn’t have it in the menu thanks
Everything about dining at The Palm was exceptional -
Except - the crying baby next to us -
It interrupted our special dinner for my daughter’s law school graduation
Erica (I think was our waitress) was absolutely amazing !
No complaints other than the noise level of the little one
The food and wine were fabulous, but we became rather disenchanted when it took 15 minutes after we'd completed eating and our server came to ask about dessert ... and after we said 'no, thank you', anther 15 minutes before he even looked our way so we could confirm a readiness for the check.
Thank you for your usual excellent service! Hope to see you soon!
Steaks were over done-sent back
Crab legs came after dinner was over instead of with dinner
Plates were dirty
Nice running in front of restaurant window
Brussel sprouts under cooked
We really only saw our waiter twice, once when we sat down and when he boxed our food. The rest of the time the FM was at our table apologizing for the mess ups
We definitely won't go back
Have never had this experience at any other Palm
Always the best food, service and experience. Solid in every way. Shared lobster and a rib eye and king crab. Palm beer is really great as well!
Martinis and steak for lunch with a friend during COVID...ok.
The Palm is good. Service is always great, the meat is right. I love their soups. And they have blue cheese olives and little slivers of ice on top after they pour a martini. Will be back.
Good food good staff. Thanks Vincent (manager) for accommodating my special requests.
I've thought about eating at the Palm for decades and finally got around to it. Bottom Line - very good meal. However for $54, an ala carte 14 ounce steak should be amazing. It wasn't, but I did enjoy it. Our waiter was both friendly and very professional. My only knock on the service was that when I made the reservation, I requested a bottle of Stag's Leap Artemis be decanted an hour before we arrived. I called again, the day before the meal, and was told the restaurant was aware of my request. I arrived 10 minutes before my guest and inquired about the wine. The receptionist told me it was decanting. After we ordered our lunch, a bottle was brought out and uncorked at the table. This would be understandable if they were busy, but the restaurant was literally empty when I arrived for an 12:00 luncheon.
Service was excellent, the meal was exceptional, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was elegant and relaxing. A great dining experience!
Always outstanding a real Washington treasure. I would highly recommend the palm for every special occasion.
After a bit of a slow start (our fault for requesting a different table - not the one by the bathroom), it was great. We loved our waiter. He was knowledgeable and helped us with both food and drink selections. We all learned a little bit more about port. The service was attentive without being cloying. All very professional. The food was terrific. We started with the shrimp cocktail for the table. He split two Cesar salads for the three of us (thank you!) and was very generous with the anchovies (on the side). We had steaks, cocktails and wine and port for dessert. It was a great evening. Thanks.
Had a great and attentive waiter. He also showed us pictures of his new puppies, which we loved! The food is wonderful at the Palm, but we always go back for the service
Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. Despite there not being many customers, service was incredibly poor. I had to request flatware, then had to get a server's attention to order. The wedge salad was good, the Manhattan was ok, the filet, Oscar-style, was... beyond odd. Instead of crab and asparagus, they had pickled peppers and tough lobster meat. It just wasn't working.
Shelly terrible experience. My father and I ordered steaks and both were cooked to the wrong temperature. Mine was returned fine, but my father’s was again incorrect. Even then, my filet mignon tasted recently unthawed. We also h had a glass each of 1942, which had very distinctly been diluted. The entire order was comp’d but we won’t be going back.
Food is always good as is the service. Because of the pandemic it was very quiet that night, but all was good.
The food was amazing. The fried oysters was so delicious!!
Room could use some decorating - too plain. Food was wonderful as I remember it.
We had a good meal, but not great. Our waiter was wonderful. Did not like the atmosphere much at all. We enjoyed ourselves though.
When you are at the Palm you know its going to be Great Service and Wonderful Food. Shrimp Cocktail and Shrimp Cocktail Bruno Style were both outstanding. Great size in the shrimp!! A Must. Excellent drinks. NY Strip was perfect and Salmon was outstanding!
Our server, John, was personable and professional. He was old school - like the Palm! Food was cooked just right. Hubby got the lamb chops and I got the 9 oz filet. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Lamb was better than the steak but not by much. Healthy pour of wine in a large stemmed glass with a small carafe. Husband's whiskey in a solid, crystal old fashioned. Creamed spinach with a touch of nutmeg and fried onions and jumbo shrimp apps were huge! Cheesecake to top it all off - large enough to share! A memorable dining experience
Outstanding food, service. Masks and social distancing were followed. Very nice evening.
For the price, we expected the Tomahawk steak to be tender but it wasn’t. Regardless, it did have a great flavor.
We enjoy going to the Palm, and we usually enjoy our time there because of the ambience, service and food, but sometimes the food just doesn’t meet our expectations for the price. Such is life.
Excellent food and service- as always.
Best bone-in filet I’ve ever had! Despite being short-staffed because of pandemic you would never know it. Service was great!
Great food at reasonable prices and outstanding service
Overall good. With the place empty it echoed with two extremely loud people. Not the restaurant fault, just very loud guest. The price we pay for being so empty I guess.
The steak was a little overcooked, asked for medium rare but got medium. Still very tasty. Drinks were outstanding.
