The palm is not what it used to be. The quality of food and the restaurant have really gone downhill. I had a gift card to use and was excited for a date night out with my husband. It’s been about 15 years since we’d been and the service and quality of food was not worth the price! Husband ordered the wagyu beef and was over cooked. Sent it back and was corrected, but no other apologies. Not an inexpensive item on the menu! On a positive note: My sea bass was delicious!
Even our two person booth was filthy. There was wine splattered on the wall and on our light/lamp. Gross. There are so many other options in the Tyson’s area that WAY better! Go to Eddie V’s or Capital Grille for a much better dining experience.
Great Food, Great Service & Strong Drinks ... Everything I expect from a high quality steak house!
Best steak I've ever had. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Great ambiance. 10/10 would recommend.
Very tasty food, particularly the sides. Very loud and I was not feeling well after the meal, so I am unsure whether they used ingredients to which I was allergic.
The food and service were top notch.
Always consistent! Good food and good service and fun atmosphere.
Absolutely a wonderful dining experience. Our server really took care of us. He had great sense of humor and was just comfortable to deal with. We had the NY strip and lobster and both were cooked and presented very well. The birthday card was a nice treat. And he sent us off with birthday treats.
This was my first time here, but I will be back. The set lunch offers a great variety at a surprising value. The food was fantastic! The steak was tender, the veggies fresh, and the desert WOW! What a pleasant surprise convenient to Tyson's Corner Mall.
I had a chop salad with steak on top of the salad. The steak was good, but the salad and dressing were average at best. For the price, I was disappointed.
nice as usual .. great service ..shall be back of course
The Palm is our go to place for special occasions. Saturday nights can get cramped as this place is as popular as ever. The food is always good and the wait staff is the best. First class place. They make you feel special.
I have visited this restaurant many times and have always had a great experience. However this time My chicken was under cooked which left me extremely sick.
It was wonderful and our waiter Jeremy was awesome! Birthday dinner for my mother who turned 73 and she loved it!
It was my first time attending The Palm and I will definitely return! I ordered the 3 pound lobster and I was surprised that the waiter actually cracked the lobster for me. It was for my dad's birthday and we were very happy with the outcome of the meal. The food is expensive, but for overall experience, food quality, and service, it is definitely worth it!
My wife’s steak was ordered medium and came out red and cold in center. It was taken back for further grilling but came out the second time as medium rare. It was taken back again for further grilling.
It was just ok. They tried but food was average at best. Service better than the food
Mediocre food. Unripe tomato served in caprese. Butternut squash crunchy in risotto. Sea bass over cooked. Prime rib not flavorful. Not worth the money. Looks like they have gotten complacent if they are ok with serving plates with this many mistakes.
We made reservations at the Palm to celebrate two birthdays and pamper my husband and my friend's husband--both celebrating in the same week. Reservations were for 8pm. When we arrived promptly at 8pm, there was no table ready for us and we stood in the lobby close to 10 minutes waiting. The host then recommended we sit at a booth in the bar because he said it was noisy in the restaurant. So, we took him up on the offer and we were taken to a tiny booth in the bar. Every other booth of the same size was occupied by parties of 2. It was very tight and uncomfortable. We then sat and waited another 10 minutes without being waited on... and the bar was ofcourse very noisy. We eventually went to the host and said we'd prefer to move to a table. They complied and said they'd come get us when the table was ready. Another 10 minutes and we finally had drinks and were finally moved to a table -- 30 minutes after our reservation...
The waitress and service was fine. Food was good and served in a timely fashion. Expensive, but we were expecting to spend that.
However, when we were finished with dinner the waitress asked if we would like dessert. We were there to celebrate birthdays so of course I requested something with 2 candles... She brought out a large piece of chocolate cake and 2 ramekins with whipped cream and candles. The sentiment was nice. The cake was nothing special. We each had a bite or two and left most of it. We were charged $11 for this piece of cake. After spending hundreds of dollars on drinks/appetizers/dinner...and then charged for the birthday cake.
When I booked the reservation they asked if we were celebrating anything special. I indicated that we were celebrating birthdays. Their gift was a note card with a happy birthday message written in marker in an envelope. A restaurant of this caliber, you'd think, would at least offer a complimentary dessert for a guest celebrating a birthday.
Don't think we'll be back...
For a party of five, you shouldn’t have to send two steaks back for being clearly undercooked (even when ordered medium). It’s a steak house - you cook a lot of steaks! When the server brought the steaks back to the table and asked us to cut them in the middle, the server then shouldn’t say “well, it’s almost medium,” especially when it’s clearly medium rare. A server also shouldn’t start taking an order from a guest and then, while the guest is actually ordering, step away to talk to a colleague. Very disappointing overall. Stick with the Palm downtown.
Dined at The Palm in Tyson’s last evening and, as usual, everything was great - the service, the food, the ambiance - from pre-dinner drinks at the bar through steaks to dessert!
The overall scenery was good and our waiter was very nice. The Rib-eye steak was bland, I've had better. The place is not worth the money.
The food was eclipsed only by the service.
Screaming child the entire time. This was not a baby, just a tired youngster or a brat; not sure which. Management and staff did absolutely NOTHING to alert the family that it was problematic nor offer us anything to compensate the dreadful experience. I left with a headache.
As always we had a wonderful time at The Palm. Service is always first rate and the food is fantastic.
Palm always has great steak and lobster I have eaten there many times over the last 35 years in NY and East Hampton BUT Tysons corner served a very good albeit small veal chop and since we were close to Maryland I asked if the crab cakes were made out of real lump meat crab and showed the waiter with my fingers and asked if he had tasted them and if the pieces of crab they used were “ this large” and if they had hardly any breading he said yes so I ordered them as my main dish. AWFUL all the crabmeat was shredded completely NO PIECES AT ALL and very fishy almost canned tasing. Since with my BF who hates sending anything back I ate 1 1/2 out of 3 and he ate one along with his veal chop . SO DISAPPOINTING !!!!! These should not be on the menu totally not up to standard!!!!
Steak, salad, sides & service was excellent, a little disappointed with Lobster (half of a 4 pound).
Had better steak at Long Horn and while the waitress was friendly and helpful, the rest of staff were rude and slow
New Year’s Eve
Long time Palm customers across the country, yet we continually struggle to have a good experience at their Tyson's location. I ordered a medium rare ribeye and was first brought a NY strip; sent it back and then was served a blood rare ribeye, which I tried to eat but couldn't. Ultimately, I passed on a steak or any entree. The calamari was disappointing (over fried, pretty sparse place) and the bisque didn't have much lobster meat. Two people in our party got lobsters and they were cooked perfectly; others got crab cakes (which seemed to be a good value since you get three) and veal parmesan, which also looked good. Service was disappointing; tried to pay part of my bill with a prepaid debit card and the server couldn't figure out how to do it. Overall, disappointed after paying that much, once a year, for a special occasion on NYE.
