So over priced. Everything is al a cart. Breathing costs extra. Wine is marked up 4-5 times it’s shelf price. Steak is cooked accurately so know your temps because they know actual cooking of meat; don’t complain if you get what you ordered. Seats are not very comfortable and tables are low; I’m tallish. Crazy Crazy expensive.
Noise level was really bad.Very difficult to carry a conversation
We met at The Palm in Tysons Corner, VA for dinner recently. We had a business meeting and dinner. The NY Strip was cooked perfectly and my business partner had a perfectly prepared Filet Mignon. We shared an ample serving of green beans, that were sauteed in butter, olive oil, and garlic. The fresh bread was also excellent. For appetizers, my business partner had a home-made vegetable soup and I had the superb lobster bisque. We shared a huge piece of 7-layer chocolate cake and coffee for dessert! All in all a GREAT MEAL. I love PALM Steaks. Also, the service level was perfect; professional, calm, informative, and helpful; without interrruptions and intrusions!
I have heard nothing but good things about the Palm and I decided to find out for myself! And they were all true! Great food... Great service... Simply Amazing!
I took my family and parents there for their 50th anniversary. We were seated in the middle of the floor, which was not so bad since it was later in the evening, and the restaurant was sparsely populated.
For the amount of money they charge (e.g. $59 for a ribeye), I'd have expected service more akin to what you'd find in a fancy restaurant in Bermuda. But the staff was rather casual, forgetting who had sparkling water vs still, clearing plates before everyone was finished (although maybe that's the style these days), and serving our plates willy-nilly -- from the left, right, across the table, or whatever. (I am being very picky, I know.)
I suspect their high prices are due to the fact that they're adjacent to a Ritz, and so the patrons are on business trips, and are expensing the bills.
In conclusion, don't go here expecting to be blown away by anything other than the price. This restaurant is for business meetings where the company will be footing the bill.
The overall meal was excellent. The 4 lb lobster originally was broiled and came out a bit dry. Requested that it be steamed and was delicious. Service was very good and ambience was very nice. The donuts we ordered for dessert were too cakey and dried out.
Restaurant comped the lobster meal which was very nice of them. Overall we greatly enjoyed our meal.
Service was outstanding. Very thoughtful that they had written a special note about our anniversary. Bathrooms were clean, but clinical — not on par with the price point. And you walk past all the wait staff in the kitchen and watch them on their cell phones. Don’t love that they seat people on top of each other and cram people in wherever there is space.
I have been to the Palm many times before and it has always been good. Not this time, however. I had lamb chops (which I have had here before) which were tasteless and a bit chewy. My wife had soft shell crabs. She said they were perfectly tender and would have been very good except for the fact that they were swimming in butter. I can't say anything about the meals of the other two who joined us, as they did not say anything about their food.
Great service from Mischka, as always. He knows and anticipates our every need. Fried soft shell crab, bone on filet, mushrooms, steamed lobster... just Wow!
Had a great lunch at The Palm in Tysons. Ever reliable food, wine and most importantly a great conversation with Dennis. You simply can't go wrong with this venue.
Way too noisy to converse and our table of six was too large to be able to talk across the table. Very disappointing. We were also surprised that we had to pay $12.00 to get our car out of your parking garage. A very expensive evening.
We came here for our anniversary because we usually like The Palm. We ordered the double steak and ordered medium. It took a while to come, and when we cut into it it was practically raw. We sent it back. After another 20 minutes it came back cooked better on the outside, but again when it was cut into, it was still so rare that we couldn’t eat it. Our server suggested that we just order normal strip steaks, so we did, again requested to be medium. 20 minutes later they came—one was cooked medium, but the other rare!! We had been here already for 1.5 hours—our bottle of wine was finished, we had eaten enough mashed potatoes to be completely full, and we just got the steaks which were still not as we wanted. We have never been in a steak house so long and had so many things go wrong! At the end the manager came over and said that dessert was on him—we weren’t interested. Not a great experience, especially for our anniversary!
First time dining at The Palm; definitely will not be the last.
Wait Staff was awesome, attentive, worked well as a team, and was very good at seamlessly adding/removing things from the table (and inquiring directly, ever so often) so as to not interrupt the conversation. I think it takes a certain level of experience and skill to do that.
Food was excellent! Bacon wrapped scallops were great, steaks were cooked to order, sides (asparagus, lobster mac n cheese, brussels sprouts, and potatoes au gratin) were delicious.
Cinnamon-Sugar donut holes (hot/fresh) were super good...I ate 6 of the 8.
The Asst. Manager (Humberto) was super nice too, and entertained a brief convo with is in our way out, about how to get in the wall, the history of the wall, etc. That was really nice.
We were at the restaurant on Easter weekend. We were promptly seated ahead of our reservation time but then waited for a full 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken; even th0ough we were obviously awaiting some indication of needing service. The wait staffer seemed too busy and a bit harassed, and the lobster order which was placed resulted in a delayed announcement that the restaurant was out of lobsters.
The food was very good but the service and ambanace was harried.
This was my first time dining at Palm. I enjoyed my food immensely. I had a party of 9 & everybody enjoyed their dinner. It definitely won’t be last time.
Waitress did not repeat our order and brought a severely undercooked (bleeding) steak. After ordering an entirely different steak, it also was served, effectively, raw. In the end, we were charged for both. Stay away from this restaurant.
Great Sunday Dinner with the family on March 19th, 2018.
There was a party in the next room, which may have delayed our food slightly.
The service is always great at a Palm Restaurant. My company does business often with the Palm Restaurants, will continue to book tables here!
Thank you for a great experience.
Insane food. The kitchen and service were some of the finest I've ever had
Took my wife for our Anniversary and the food was amazing! She had the lobster and I had the ribeye. The steak was cooked perfectly! And the lobster was delicious!
Everything was good except for the service. I had to ask for specials and it took forever to get drinks. She seemed distracted.
The Palm continues to be one of my favorites. Consistently good food & service. I was a little shocked to be charged $21 for a Blanton rocks, but everything else was good.
we had an enjoyable time celebrating a co-workers birthday, there were three women, and we had a wonderful meal and was treated extra special for the birthday lunch.
The Palm - had a birthday car waiting at the table, upon our arrival. Classy, and elegant; yet casual and fun!
We went to The Palm because we had received a gift card from a friend. This was our third visit and all were disappointing. I will never return nor would I recommend it to friends or colleagues. I typically rate restaurants using four criteria: 1) quality of food; 2) quality of service; 3) value; and 4) ambiance. The Palm scores low on each of these. Let me provide one example. We requested a "quiet booth." The host suggested we sit in the bar. There were two guys at the bar watching a college basketball game and one was practically yelling. Over the next hour I learned where he hailed from, his golf game, liquor preferences, and other things that I had no desire to know. On value, there is none at The Palm; everything is overpriced. I can't stand this restaurant.
Try the tomahawk steak!
We are regular customers, but service was definitely off tonight. When we invest in a night out at The Palm we expect a higher level dining experience.
Wonderful evening with family and friends. NY strip was perfect and the chocolate peanut butter pie even better!
Excellent as usual. Tim Seymour runs a very tight operation and this is one of the most consistent restaurants in the city. Food and service are fantastic.
Excellent food and service
Mishka is the best of the best
I always have a great dining experience at the Palm Restaurant in McLean. Steaks are always cooked to perfection and have incredible flavor. Ask for Alex to serve your table. He is a great guy from Texas and will always recommend the appropriate food or drink selection based on your mood and tastes!
This was our first time here. Our servers were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about their huge wine list. I was a little disappointed that I had to send my NY strip back as it was undercooked. I ordered well done and it was medium well. I expect if I'm paying $50 for a steak, it should be cooked right the first time. I would definitely go back again.
The palm is not what it used to be. The quality of food and the restaurant have really gone downhill. I had a gift card to use and was excited for a date night out with my husband. It’s been about 15 years since we’d been and the service and quality of food was not worth the price! Husband ordered the wagyu beef and was over cooked. Sent it back and was corrected, but no other apologies. Not an inexpensive item on the menu! On a positive note: My sea bass was delicious!
Even our two person booth was filthy. There was wine splattered on the wall and on our light/lamp. Gross. There are so many other options in the Tyson’s area that WAY better! Go to Eddie V’s or Capital Grille for a much better dining experience.
Great Food, Great Service & Strong Drinks ... Everything I expect from a high quality steak house!
Best steak I've ever had. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Great ambiance. 10/10 would recommend.
Very tasty food, particularly the sides. Very loud and I was not feeling well after the meal, so I am unsure whether they used ingredients to which I was allergic.
The food and service were top notch.
Always consistent! Good food and good service and fun atmosphere.
Absolutely a wonderful dining experience. Our server really took care of us. He had great sense of humor and was just comfortable to deal with. We had the NY strip and lobster and both were cooked and presented very well. The birthday card was a nice treat. And he sent us off with birthday treats.
