Seems as though the food quality has slipped, not loving it.
Booth tables in the bar are perfect setting for business discussions
Alex (and Ramon) gave us an outstanding service. Very friendly and accommodating staff who gave us great recommendations and customized our meal to our preferences.
Unfortunately, this is my 3rd disappointment with the Tyson’s Palm Restaurant.
We weren’t finished with the appetizer when the main course was served.
My wife was pleased with the salad and the Salmon.
I enjoyed the bacon but the gnocchi was over cooked.
I tried the lobster twice and was disappointed with the freshness.
Lobster Bisque was disappointing - tepid not hot. Calamari was soggy!
Came here with our two year old and had early dinner. Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sea bass came out nice and hot and very tasty. Will come back! Thanks!
A little slow last night but still very tasty. Prices seem to have crept up a bit.
This was my first time and our server made wonderful recommendations. The ribeye was perfectly cooked/seasoned and the veal parmigiana was something I didn’t think I would find at many other places. Upscale, and worth the price!
Always an awesome experience!
We love the Palm!! However last night the lobster
did not come out right twice!! The meat was stringy
& watery not the solid plump lobster we so
love at The Palm.
We will not give up!’
The service wasn’t good. They mixed up out foods. For the price they charge they must have a superior service, but mot really what you expect. When they brought the replacement food back still not what we told them. Their staff doesn’t listen to the customer.
Our waiter Alex was excellent. We had the lobster and it was great and very reasonably priced.
We have eaten here with friends several times and loved it. We went last night to celebrate our friend getting out of the hospital. Now, the food and service was excellent, as always. But, the place was so very loud, we could not have a conversation, or even hear the person right next to us. There were a lot of people being extremely loud, yelling to each other at the top of their lungs. I have to think a lot of drunks there, being very rude. The noise level was so bad, we all started to get headaches, and cut our dinner short, leaving earlier than we wanted to. My ears were actually ringing from the volume. A totally unpleasant experience. There may have been 2 party’s going on, but, that is no excuse. I will never go back there again. None of the staff took any action to quiet things down to that of a normal nice restaurant, instead of a hockey game.
Any star rating below 5 was tied back to the noise level. We had an elderly person in our party, and the noise level was so loud it caused them distress and confusion (servers yelling across the floor, loud guests, etc.)
This is the quintessential high-end dining for steak lovers. Very friendly and attentive service. Specialty cocktails are wonderful and the wine selection are excellent. I’m a big fan of the half and half side dish. A great compliment to steak or seafood.
Overall great service, we had to move inside because it started to rain, that was a bit confusing for the servers, but they bouced back ounce they learned where everyone was. Steak was cooked nicely, lots of sauce toppings to choose from. Risotto needed more salt and didn't have much crab, but was cooked perfectly. The Italian chocolate layer cake with raspberry sorbet is to die for! Cocktails were also good. We would go back.
Sat in front, next time prefer further in
The food was really good, but service took away from the whole experience. Our server was clearly inexperienced and while I would certainly understand in most instances, to get that kind of service (or lack thereof) at a "5*" restaurant is unacceptable. She was nice enough, but engagement level was 0 and attentiveness a 2. My husband informed the manager afterwards and he couldn't have cared less.
Great meal and great service!!!!
Came to Virginia for a wedding shower, so my husband and I decided to spend the night and have dinner at the Palm. We moved out of the area 2 1/2 years ago, so it was nice to see that some of the staff were still there. We sat at the bar and had a fabulous dinner. Our bartender/server was the best. We definitely plan to go back the next time we are in town.
Service was exceptional! Food portions were huge - definitely worth every penny!
The Palm never fails. An awesome environment with a first-rate staff. The quality of service and food is second to none.
The Flavors In The Steak Was Amazing
Excellent menu choices. Great cocktails and service by Bill Syed. Thank you.
A mediocre place, ordered steak and I was hoping that the plate would be hot but the steak was coldOn arrival had to return it to cook but a little bit more.
The waitress switched up the way we wanted our steaks. Didn’t act like she made a mistake and made my mom feel bad about it when it was their mistake. They did replace the steaks but the approach was not what I expected from a restaurant like this. We asked for medium-rare closer to rare and got a well done steak and the waitress acted like I was crazy. Should not have this happen at a steakhouse like this
Fantastic service from Alex and team. Great recommendations. Lots of attention. Tomahawk was particularly good. Look forward to our next visit
Since it was a special occasion, I was hoping for a much higher standard. My drink, whiskey sour, was at best weak and had little taste. I asked the waiter to substitute my side, but ended up paying for an additional side. The steak and salmon were excellent.
When I got the bill, their pen leaked ink all over my fingers. Luckily I didn't touch anything. The waiter seemed unconcerned and brought a plate with lemon and a napkin to clean my fingers with.
I would have complained, but since it was a special occasion, I didn't want to spoil our enjoyment over the problems.
I hope my next visit will be up to this restaurant's standards.
A perfect steakhouse dinner
Lovely ambiance to celebrate Father’s Day! Loved the service and food. Will be back aoon
My first time in this restaurant and we truly enjoyed the great food and service!
My husband and I went to the Palm since it was Father’s Day weekend. My husband loves the Palm especially their burgers. So we decided to go and have a late lunch at the bar. The bartender was amazing and he really made sure that we had a wonderful experience - don’t know his name but he was just the Best! The food was good but not my favorite- this is one of my husband’s favorite restaurant for burgers next to Manetta Tavern in NYC.
We had the jumbo shrimp Bruno which was ok and the calamari fritti which was good. My husband loved his burger while I had the gigi salad which I love and the linguini with clam sauce which was just ok but the pasta was cooked well. The whole time the young bartender treated my husband and I so very well from beginning til the end of our meal.
Other than the noise level (it was loud) everything was exceptional.
Our server Neshka was great as usual as was the food
We have previously celebrated our Anniversary here in the past so we were very excited to be able to do so this year after COVID restrictions were lifted. We ordered the steak tartare and chopped salad for appetizers and I also ordered a well-mannered very dirty Tito’s martini. I had to explain to the waiter what it was. My martini arrived and it was missing the best feature of the drink, the blue cheese stuffed olives. We tried to order a bottle of wine to go with our entrees but our first choice was sold out. We picked a second choice but it was ok, not my fave. For dinner we shared the 3lb lobster, au gratin potatoes and spinach with aglio e olio. The sides were delicious as was the broiled lobster. I could have used some salt with my sides but none was to be found on the table. We also managed to find room for dessert. I was a little disappointed that the restaurant really didn’t do anything special since we were celebrating our anniversary (compared to what they had done in prior years). They did wish us, “Happy Anniversary” upon entering but that was it. As the dining hour turned later, more diners filled the tables and due to the high ceiling in the dining room with the acoustics, it was very hard to have a conversation. With it becoming busier, our waiter was becoming harder to find when we just wanted to settle our bill and leave. I understand it was a very busy evening especially since Covid restrictions were lifted but I was a tad disappointed with service and the limited food options offered. We still managed to spend $400 (my son was dining in the bar area) but I was not blown away like I was at some other fine dining establishments in Charleston, SC. I am happy that the Palm survived Covid, but I hope they will be able to attain the level of service, wine and food options pre-Covid.
Birthday dinner was very nice as always
Ordered an Old Fashion ($22) and the description said it came with a “black cherry” which I would define as a Luxardo cherry (as that is the appropriate cherry for this drink (especially at this price point). It did not come with a cherry, and when requested I received a regular maraschino cherry. Disappointing.
Meal was very good (steak and lobster “date nite special”dinner for two). Waitstaff was new and handed us his “personal cheat sheet” as to what the meal included instead of explaining it to us—never I. My life have I had this happen before, and I certainly didn’t expect it at a restaurant of this caliber. Other than that, staff was very attentive.
Our server was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable.
Great food as always and great service from super attendants and sommeliers in drag
Just a great experience for a Saturday night meal
We had a party of eight and could have easily been set up in a private room. The noise level where we were placed was very high, which was disappointing. Lastly, the waiter was pleasant, but seemed ‘preoccupied’ and couldn’t remember the specials nor the desserts. He also kept trying to up-sell on everything, way too hard. We spent just under $1000 before gratuity, and I expected a more fabulous experience.
