The Palm Too Ratings and Reviews
Our server was great! The rest not so great. I made a reservation for 3 and we were sat by the kitchen. Food was expensive and not worth it. We asked for the halibut to be cooked medium and though it was ample it was over cooked. The potatoes sounded great but they were thin with little goat cheese and large pieces of cooked garlic. Wine expensive. So many other great places in NY. This one is past its prime.
I am never disappointed when I come here. Steaks are cooked as ordered. Clams oreganata here is one of my favorites. Wild mushrooms are fantastic; creamed spinach is delicious. This time dessert was the carrot cake and it was very good. Looking forward to the next visit.
The Palm Too is our go-to place for toasting special events. It never fails to please. The service is gracious and efficient, and the steaks are superb. My only quibble this go-around is that the smaller sizes (of salads and sides) are no longer a menu option. Otherwise, our experience was as expected: wonderful.
Been going to the Palm Too for over 40 years.
Always make us feel like family.
With all the steak houses in nyc, this is the one we always return to.
Steak and lobster, the best.
P. S. Try their chicken parmigiana. It’s outstanding.
My Dad used to come to the Palm many years ago with his friends and was hoping to relive some of those memories with a visit to the Palm Too. Our dinner was that and much more; the food was good and Franco delivered outstanding service that is simply hard to come by any more these days. Many, many thanks for a great night!
We are Palm Too regulars and took our niece there for her birthday. We all enjoyed the excellent food, as always! I'd eat there every day if my arteries could stand generous portions of steaks, etc and all the delicious sides. Beware, the desserts are huge!
My family and I had a wonderful Saturday night dinner. We ordered the New York Strip special (36oz) to share with sides of garlic whipped potatoes, creamed spinach and green beans. Heaven! Also reconfirming that NYC steaks beat any steak in central London hands down, no contest. We love your restaurant, so friendly, accommodating and very kind to our young daughter. Next time we're over from London , Palm Too will be first on our agenda! Thank you!
I've been to the Palm Too and the original across the street many times. Consistently excellent food, especially clams oreganata, creamed spinach and, of course, those terrific steaks - best sirloin steaks I've ever eaten.
Note that the Palm apparently shortened its menu drastically 2 months ago. Old favorites like shrimp Bruno, steak a la stone, chicken Bruno, and most veal dishes are gone (though our waiter says many people still ask for them - but the kitchen, at least currently, says no dice)
In recent visits I have noticed a few revisions from the shrinking menu (not to worry East Coast Gigi fans can still order off menu)to changes in management and staffing. On prior visits the food quality seemed slightly off, glad to report the quality is back to Palm standards i.e. close to excellent. We enjoyed the surf and turf i.e filet and lobster tail, both cooked to perfection. The Half and Half perfectly fried, the East Coast Gigi still one of the best salads in the marketplace.
The only issue and quite minor, we were in the 3rd room and as it was Sat PM I would assume wait staff may have been stretched a bit thin. Not a major issue, just not on par for The Palm which is usually well staffed. Gus and the crew make this Palm one of my personal favorite restaurants in NYC and throughout the United States. Keep up the good work.
