The Palm San Antonio

Our service and food were outstanding. We needed to get in and out quickly to go to a play and we were done in under an hour.
The Palm was great. Our server Emily was awesome. They are very accommodating to theater goers.
Great food and service!
The food at The Palm is definitely better than average. My wife's fish was wonderful and my crab cakes were good. A great bonus is the ability to use the valet parking for dinner AND theater at The Majestic.
Suggestions for The Palm:
Offer more selections of vegetables as sides.
Serve at least one upscale bread before dinner as they do at Cappy's and Paisanos.
Great staff and great food! We will continue to visit and to recommend it to our friends and visitors!
I enjoyed everything except our server. He should work at a coffee shop and not fine dining. I ordered a glass of Malbec. The guys says, what kind? I said Malbec. He says, what brand? I said, your house Malbec is fine. Then he said, that’s not much help, I’ll pick something out for you. So, I reply any Malbec is fine. As long as it’s from Argentina. He says, They aren’t all from Argentina. I said, really? Well, if you have a brand that is not from Argentina, save it for someone else. I want an Argentine Malbec please. Then he said, I’ll find something. It was an odd exchange to say the least. He also messed up our valet situation. I had to try to retrieve my car without a ticket. I told the valet guy that I wasn’t given anything from the server. He said, maybe he was busy? It took about 10 minutes to sort that out. Other than that, I enjoyed it. On a side note, I don’t see the point of having a Malbec that’s not from Argentina. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Food was very good as you would expect. Service wasn’t up to snuff. Distracted and forgetful. Even felt a bit rushed. It was good experience overall but I generally would hold Palm to higher expectations as I have experienced in the past.
My wife and one of our daughters split the 9oz filet. It was cooked to perfection (medium rare) but the half of the steak that my daughter was served contained a couple of gristle (chewy) pieces. Since it was being "shared/split", the chef could have chosen a filet that was more evenly marbled and served (2) very nice small filets. The Caesar salad was a little heavy on the dressing, but I actually prefer it that way! Service was great. Prompt and attentive. Dined here many times, and we will return again when we are in town.
Food and Service was great. Our server Jacob was attentive and made sure we were on time for our theatre showing.
We really enjoyed our experience at The Palm. We went before seeing Hamilton across the street and the staff was very accommodating about making sure we would make it and not be rushed. My boyfriend and I wanted to share a steak and we ordered it medium rare even though I prefer medium. It was too rare for me and they were nice enough to put mine back on the grill for a few more minutes. We had at least two people waiting on us most of the time which made me feel very fancy. The only thing I don’t love is the way they do their sides “family style.” We got a boat of mashed potatoes and one of Brussels sprouts, which were delicious, but too much to finish for two people. Overall it was lovely and I’m sure I’ll be back.
Service was fantastic! Food was just meh. I’ve eaten the same or higher quality food elsewhere (Biga, Silo, Cured, Whiskey Cake, Feast). The hype of The Palm exceeded the actual taste/quality of the food. I have no burning desire to return based on the taste of the food alone. We ordered a salad, steak, 2 sides, and a flight of whiskey.
Great as always
Always a pleasure dining at The Palm. Outstanding service and amazing fare.
The valet parking was very unorganized after the theater!
Date night at The Majestic; The Palm was good, but I prefer other steakhouses in San Antonio
A $35 piece of salmon was just that. Plain salmon. No seasoning or sauce. Just a dry slab of fish w some capers on the side. The lobster bisque was delicious though and we enjoyed the crab cakes. Chicken Parm was a large portion, but was unremarkable. Was overall a pretty mediocre meal for $200.
Excellent food and service. A bit noisy but a good place to dine before the theatre
Great food, great service! The perfect dinner before the theatre. Thank you, Jacob, for your menu expertise, professional service, and making sure we were on time for our show.
We had the most wonderful time. Our waiter was superb!! We always love coming to the Palm.
One of the best restaurants in San Antonio. Love the vibe and the service is impeccable! The Palm does not disappoint.
We look forward to going to Palm on Mother's Day annual . I have always order the Double Cut Lamb chops in passed visits. the chops were thick, juicy cook medium well and Delicious. On Sun 5/12/19 they were the worth lamb chops ever. Thin to the bone and more fat than meat. "Horrible" If it hadn't been Mother Day I would have sent my entree back. But I didn't want my wife to wait it was her DAY. Whenever you order a $51.00 entree you expect the best quality of Lamb.
As always the Palm was outstanding, service, knowledge of the wait staff was incredible always ready to please, never had to wait for anything always one step ahead of your needs. Thanks for making Mothers Day a wonderful occasion for my Wife and Children, and Grand children.
Even do they tables open at the main area they send us to the back room
I had a lovely time with my family here on mother’s day. The staff always treats us like family, and I always feel like I’m at home here. The food is phenomenal, so don’t be afraid to try anything.
The food and service here was excellent, not our first visit. Perfect location if you are attending theater as well. Highly recommend.
Service and food is always great. Always worth the visit.
We were disappointed in the wine list not offering any sweet wines (e.g. white zinfandel, muscato). We were also disappointed in the noise level. Despite these shortcomings, it is an excellent choice for fine dining in the heart of San Antonio. Of special note are the caricatures of local people on the walls of the restaurant.
Waiter was excellent, great environment and space for larger group. Pricing was good for an al la carte menu. Steaks had great flavor, all sides and appetizers were delicious. Two of the streaks that were supposed to be Med. Rare were over cooked, which made them to dry. We enjoyed the service, did not send back any of the food, happy with the total cost of the bill. Appreciate the service.
The experience was good. Server was efficient and friendly.
It was the worst gimlet I have ever had, pasta side was microscopic. Don't know if I will ever be back.
Have been going to the Palm for over 40 years,,it all started in New York when my new business partners took me out to dinner to celebrate our new partnership..Have been coming to the Palm ever since.Special occasions and the Palm just go together.
Great service - excellent presentation!
Very consistent Steakhouse no matter where you're visiting.
We came for our wedding anniversary dinner and started with the bacon appetizer (YUM!!!), had the ribeye and filet mignon for our entree with garlic whipped potatoes and green beans (all cooked PERFECTLY) and had the key lime pie for dessert. Everything was outstanding and had a phenomenal waitress! Will definitely go back...
Went with a couple buddies and had steaks with lobster, which were both fantastic! Cooked perfectly and nice pairing. Service was generally good, except a little slow on a couple items. This was minor and we talked about how good the food was the next day. Definitely recommend.
6 lb lobster was outstanding.
The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. This is a great place for dinner prior to a show at the Majestic.
Great waitress ... food was excellent as always
Outstanding service. Incredible food. My favorite steakhouse in the country!
Coronation Mother Daughter perfect evening!
