Wait staff was excellent.
I was impressed from the host to our waiter, they were polite and tentative to our questions and needs. The food was Great! I was blown away by the 3-4 pound Lobster entree as well! So being this was our first experience at the Palm, we will be returning for sure!
Bone in filet was bland. Everything else was great.
Great place for awesome food and a relax atmosphere.
Asparagus was very good and flavorful, Lobster Was good but not as sweet as normal or the night before at a different Restaurant. The Veal parm however was dry, flavorless and the mozzarella chewy, not light and toasted
Business dinner - Overall all was wonderful. While many steak houses have similar menus --- we as a group have tried quite a few. On this night the brussels sprouts fell flat - needed more flavor. The Branzino was also just not as impressive. All steaks and sauces were loved and prepared perfectly. Shrimp cocktail perfection. Wine list wonderful. Server excellent. Thank you
Outstanding meal, love The Palm, first time to this location. All three diners had the pre theater menu, filet mignon was the best we've had in ages. It was a great meal and evening.
It was a great experience
Always great food and service, great vibe when the restaurant is full. Great to see Gus, 29 years at the spot and still going strong
Ssrvice was poor. Had fo ask for water 3 times. Felt like we were an after thought. Food was good.
Entire dinner for the four of us was amazing from start to finish.
For an expensive meal like this with six people, we shouldn't have had to search for our waiter multiple times. He appeared to be stretched too thin. It was extremely noisy and difficult to hear each other. Our table was in a bad position near the computer/waiter station at the center, rear. There is a pole or pillar right there and every single person who tried to pass by my daughter and I would bump into our chairs or shoulders. It was very unsettling. The food was phenomenal, even if too expensive. I've had very similar quality or better elsewhere for nowhere close to the prices at The Palm.
I went here with my significant other. The service was great! Our waiter was attentive, had a good sense of dry humor and made us laugh. My better half ordered the 3 lb. Nova Scotia lobster. It was a true value, never seen one soo big before in my life! She couldn't finish all of it and I got a chance to taste the dish. It definitely was a must if you're interested in seafood for the evening.
I had the Filet mignon (medium rare) with lump crab cake with mushrooms. The filet was cooked perfectly. I have many steaks from other restaurants in the city, and I would say the Palms filet is roughly where it should be for an upscale restaurant.
I think the next time I would either get a bone-in Rib eye or the NY strip.
We enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere. It was a good mix of folks getting ready for the theater and families enjoying time together at an upscale restaurant. The majority of the folks were around the 30-60 age range on average.
We like the caricatures of famous folks and well known Philly celebrities, entrepreneurs, and even a cool Rocky one. Must try it once for sure if you visit Philly or if you're a local.
Things they can improve on ...
Need someone to man the coat check. The hostess had to do that and arrange for seating. We could tell she was quite annoyed.
The food was good but not worth the upscale price. They also failed on execution in a few steps. They never brought bread to our table and my creme brulee was not full cooked, it was more like soup. Not really what you expect for a $500 dinner for four people.
Went with 2 other couples on a cold night. The Warmth of the staff and quality of the food was just what we needed! Everyone had a wonderful time! Can't wait to go back, my linguine and clams was superb.
Male Bartender with dark hair and glasses greeted my wife who had just sat at the bar by saying “what do you want?”. No “hello, welcome to The Palm” nope, just “what do you want”. We proceeded to leave the bar and sit at a table near bar. Hostess would not give us menus and there were none on the table. Female Bartender came over and we asked for menus but she didn’t give us all the versions of the Menus. I had to read them on my phone. Luckily after ordering, the food arrived quickly and was tasty. Female bartender who waited on us was great after the menu situation.
We had a 5:45 reservation for four on a Saturday night before a show; we were seated immediately even though it seemed fairly full. I wanted, and got, exactly what I was hoping for: old-style classy restaurant with very good service and a straightforward menu. All the members of our party enjoyed the food and experience. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, though could have been a little bit more attentive later in the evening (it was getting busier). Expensive as expected, so not a great value, but happy to pay for a special evening. The two-hour pace was just right for a relaxed time while leaving just in time for a stroll down Broad St. to our show. As a bonus, we saw local newscaster celebrity Jim Gardner leaving just ahead of us. Great place to treat visitors from out of town.
Perfect after-theatre dining experience. Excellent menu. Delicious food. Attentive and friendly service. GO.
My family and I had dinner at The Palm on 2/22/2020 before attending a show. The service was excellent. The food was fantastic. They had a great selection so everyone in my party was able to find a meal to satisfy them. The decor was different in a good way. I really liked the art on the walls and columns. Never saw this type of art in a restaurant before so it was refreshing. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Salmon had to be returned it was raw inside. I asked for my steak to be medium well it was blood red inside. For the amount we paid for our dinner it was far from exceptional. I have eaten at many places that were 50 to 75 percent less money and had much better and tastier meal. For the price they charge you would think that the dinner would be exceptional. We will never go back there again.
I loved it there. The waiter made our experience even more enjoyable. The food good and the atmosphere nice.
Treated like family! From the Asst General Manager, Lynn, to Jason the bartender, Darnell our server and of course, Gus! The team is so welcoming, friendly and hospitable. The food and drinks, stellar, as always. Can't wait to return!
The Palm is in excellent restaurant with absolutely fabulous food. It is a noisy restaurant however, we did not notice it after being there a while. It is expensive but you know that going in to it.
Terrific dining experience. Highly recommend
Great evening at the Palm, Gabriel again provided exceptional service, the Filet's were cooked perfectly, and the 4lb lobster far exceeded expectations. Another Grand night at the Palm.
My wife and I were staying at the Bellevue Hotel and attending a play at the Academy of Music a block away, and dinner at The Palm made perfect sense! Located on the first floor of the Bellevue, The Palm offers a special 3-course Theater Menu that was perfect! I enjoyed the ample salad, my Filet was perfection, and the key lime pie to die for. Their drinks are a little pricey, but they didn't skimp on the alcohol in my "Always in Fashion" which was like 2 drinks! It was an enjoyable meal and I recommend The Palm to anyone looking for a good meal in Center City Philly!
We knew it was going to be expensive, but what you got for the money was crazy. The small filet came on a plain white plate with no garnish. We went there expecting a special dining experience, but were really disappointed . We thought we were going to a elegant restaurant,, but the room was ugly. There are pilllars thruout and they are covered with hundreds of painted portraits of people., and bad murals.
We are looking for a new steakhouse since Mortons closed. The food here was excellent. The shrimp domino appetizer was very tasty. The caprese salad had good tomatoes( hard to find here in Feb) and nice cheese. The steak and crab cakes were wonderful. The crab cake had no filler.
Our issue was the service. Penny was pleasant but not around a whole lot. Requested oil and vinegar w the salad and it eventually arrived once I asked the busboy for help. Same w the sweet er for my ice tea. Plus the timing between courses was very long.
Foood was good! Wife Ribeye had to be done a couple times. She wanted medium well but it came too done. We enjoyed restaurant but service wasn’t as attentive as we’re used too. Still good place. Wife loved this place!
Always loved going to the Palm but Sunday nite was not good. Took the whole family there for a special birthday dinner and waited 45 minutes for drinks never saw waitress food wasn't good very disappointed. The people there are friendly,it was differently a off nite
This was our first time here and it was wonderful. The table was perfect (we had a comfy booth) and the service was wonderful (Gabriel was our server). Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. We chose here to celebrate Valentine's Day and we were not disappointed. An added bonus was the parking garage next door-we received a discount since we ate at The Palm. That was the cherry on top! We will be back!
Decided to stop by before going to a show, and we really enjoyed our visit. The service was exceptional... really set the tone for the evening. The meals were well prepared, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. We will be visiting again. Thanks!
Very enjoyable meal. Service was good. Slow on presenting bill. Overall a very good dinning experience
Great food, was worth every penny. Carrot cake was not the best I had but good. Our server was great, the hostess wasn't the nicest person but wouldn't stop me from going back.
Great service from start to finish. Surf and turf was delicious, will certainly return.
Gus makes it the best
First and last time going here the food wasn’t worth it at all. The service was very bad at a 9pm on valentines day. Def not going to go back. I have also left a review on there website too that is more detailed. The meat had no flavor i can do that at my house for less then 60-80 steak per person.
Great service friendly staff
Everything was great, waiter was little slow, but it’s ok, it was a lot of customers inside
