The Palm Philadelphia
We had a 5:45 reservation for four on a Saturday night before a show; we were seated immediately even though it seemed fairly full. I wanted, and got, exactly what I was hoping for: old-style classy restaurant with very good service and a straightforward menu. All the members of our party enjoyed the food and experience. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, though could have been a little bit more attentive later in the evening (it was getting busier). Expensive as expected, so not a great value, but happy to pay for a special evening. The two-hour pace was just right for a relaxed time while leaving just in time for a stroll down Broad St. to our show. As a bonus, we saw local newscaster celebrity Jim Gardner leaving just ahead of us. Great place to treat visitors from out of town.
Perfect after-theatre dining experience. Excellent menu. Delicious food. Attentive and friendly service. GO.
My family and I had dinner at The Palm on 2/22/2020 before attending a show. The service was excellent. The food was fantastic. They had a great selection so everyone in my party was able to find a meal to satisfy them. The decor was different in a good way. I really liked the art on the walls and columns. Never saw this type of art in a restaurant before so it was refreshing. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Salmon had to be returned it was raw inside. I asked for my steak to be medium well it was blood red inside. For the amount we paid for our dinner it was far from exceptional. I have eaten at many places that were 50 to 75 percent less money and had much better and tastier meal. For the price they charge you would think that the dinner would be exceptional. We will never go back there again.
Treated like family! From the Asst General Manager, Lynn, to Jason the bartender, Darnell our server and of course, Gus! The team is so welcoming, friendly and hospitable. The food and drinks, stellar, as always. Can't wait to return!
The Palm is in excellent restaurant with absolutely fabulous food. It is a noisy restaurant however, we did not notice it after being there a while. It is expensive but you know that going in to it.
Terrific dining experience. Highly recommend
Great evening at the Palm, Gabriel again provided exceptional service, the Filet's were cooked perfectly, and the 4lb lobster far exceeded expectations. Another Grand night at the Palm.
My wife and I were staying at the Bellevue Hotel and attending a play at the Academy of Music a block away, and dinner at The Palm made perfect sense! Located on the first floor of the Bellevue, The Palm offers a special 3-course Theater Menu that was perfect! I enjoyed the ample salad, my Filet was perfection, and the key lime pie to die for. Their drinks are a little pricey, but they didn't skimp on the alcohol in my "Always in Fashion" which was like 2 drinks! It was an enjoyable meal and I recommend The Palm to anyone looking for a good meal in Center City Philly!
We knew it was going to be expensive, but what you got for the money was crazy. The small filet came on a plain white plate with no garnish. We went there expecting a special dining experience, but were really disappointed . We thought we were going to a elegant restaurant,, but the room was ugly. There are pilllars thruout and they are covered with hundreds of painted portraits of people., and bad murals.
We are looking for a new steakhouse since Mortons closed. The food here was excellent. The shrimp domino appetizer was very tasty. The caprese salad had good tomatoes( hard to find here in Feb) and nice cheese. The steak and crab cakes were wonderful. The crab cake had no filler.
Our issue was the service. Penny was pleasant but not around a whole lot. Requested oil and vinegar w the salad and it eventually arrived once I asked the busboy for help. Same w the sweet er for my ice tea. Plus the timing between courses was very long.
Foood was good! Wife Ribeye had to be done a couple times. She wanted medium well but it came too done. We enjoyed restaurant but service wasn’t as attentive as we’re used too. Still good place. Wife loved this place!
Always loved going to the Palm but Sunday nite was not good. Took the whole family there for a special birthday dinner and waited 45 minutes for drinks never saw waitress food wasn't good very disappointed. The people there are friendly,it was differently a off nite
This was our first time here and it was wonderful. The table was perfect (we had a comfy booth) and the service was wonderful (Gabriel was our server). Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. We chose here to celebrate Valentine's Day and we were not disappointed. An added bonus was the parking garage next door-we received a discount since we ate at The Palm. That was the cherry on top! We will be back!
Decided to stop by before going to a show, and we really enjoyed our visit. The service was exceptional... really set the tone for the evening. The meals were well prepared, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. We will be visiting again. Thanks!
Very enjoyable meal. Service was good. Slow on presenting bill. Overall a very good dinning experience
Great food, was worth every penny. Carrot cake was not the best I had but good. Our server was great, the hostess wasn't the nicest person but wouldn't stop me from going back.
Great service from start to finish. Surf and turf was delicious, will certainly return.
Gus makes it the best
First and last time going here the food wasn’t worth it at all. The service was very bad at a 9pm on valentines day. Def not going to go back. I have also left a review on there website too that is more detailed. The meat had no flavor i can do that at my house for less then 60-80 steak per person.
Great service friendly staff
Everything was great, waiter was little slow, but it’s ok, it was a lot of customers inside
Always an amazing experience.
Went to Valentines Day - had reservations for 7pm, got there around 7:15 due to higher than normal traffic in Philly due to the Auto Show. Accommodated no problem (as most of their guests had this issue). Requested a booth, which was accommodated as well - got one next to the bar (no big deal). They could have used some extra waiters on and perhaps kitchen staff. It did take almost 45 minutes from the time salads were finished and taken away, to the main serving was brought out. Food was excellent, zero to complain about. Spent $235 for the two of us, so a little pricey and not a place to go out to for anything other than special occasions - for the Average Joe.
Great food .. enjoyed the atmosphere.. it is a little on the loud side but I enjoy that when out to dinner
Excellent place to eat, we went there for Valentines day dinner and had a very nice time.
I went on Valentine's day. Service was a little slow. We had to send my steak back. I asked for medium well and it was partly rare with blood still oozing out the middle was slightly over medium well and the end was just shoe leather..... I was choking trying to swallow it. We sent it back and the second steak was medium well much better than the first but still tough to chew and had zero flavor. The rest of the meal was excellent. Our server even replaced the cocktail that was accidently spilled. Their cheesecake was the best I have ever had!!! I would go back but I just would never ever order another steak!
Was expecting much better food for the price. Wine selection was on point though.
Friendly Hostess, very attentive and knowledgeable servers, but not intrusive. Good food. For me prices were a little high.
The sides were cold-cold and not tasty. They had to be sent back to the kitchen. The meals were not worth the $$$
The Palm has always been one of our favorite steak houses! You know that if you like something it will be the same every time you go. We almost always get the filet, first starting with a wonderful lobster bisque. We have had the chicken parm also quite nice. Hash browns & creamed spinach are perfect for the steak. We enjoy the creme brulee. The very best though is the fresh cooked donuts!!! Great to take guests. Service is always perfect. Enjoy!!!
Service was excellent. However it seems they had the B team on for a Sunday night in the kitchen.
Darnell did an excellent job taking care of me. I had a perfect Caesar salad to start. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and I added some excellent crab legs. A perfect meal with great service. Five stars!
For the money we paid I just don’t think it was worth it.
I took my wife and my 4 year old daughter out this past sat (2/8) for a special dinner in the city. We had an amazing time. The food and service were terrific. In particular, Gus at the front and our server, Darnell made my little girl feel like a princess!
This was my first time at the Palm and I had heard many good things. While the food was good, it was overpriced and the presentation of the food was less then par. For the price of the food, I was expecting a better presentation and ambiance to the experience. The service was average, like any other restaurant, nothing spectacular. The coffee was lukewarm when served. Overall it was an okay experience, with average service and very pricey food.
The entire experience was top notch. Service, atmosphere, and quality of food and drinks were all superb. Filet was cooked perfectly. Lobster bisque was delicious. Dessert was decadent. Our drinks were outstanding and our server was knowledgeable and prompt. Our experience checked all the right boxes.
Great meal for my wife’s birthday. The Palm never disappoints and is always our favorite place to go.
The service was outstanding and We actually got one of the club 837 specials! They also have wine specials which are very good too. Very accommodating to any speacial order needs. Definitely recommend the palm!
