The Palm Miami Ratings and Reviews
Reserved a booth over two months in advance. When we arrived, there were at least two booths open. We were told we could not have them because there were two of us and the booths were reserved for parties of four. Yet, there were parties of two eating at three booths. We were seated at a small table that was not big enough to hold all the plates, so we had to stack things. Then, a couple at a table next to us was allowed to shine a flashlight for about 15 minutes, in essence blinding us to such an extent that we chose not to even stay for dessert. Food and service was excellent, but the problems ruined the evening.
Have been going to the palm for many years not quite the same as it used to be simple things like the bread which used to be fantastic is just OK prices of course have gone up but not getting anymore in return probably just some what less actually. We asked for a lobster a certain way it came out wrong we also didn’t want to be rushed and they kind of pushed us through the meal, all and all it’s not the same Palm when you spend $300 on a meal you Expect top shelf everything
What happened to this place?!! It has only been about 2 months since I have been here last and the service has gone so far down. The food is still amazing! But I had to go down 2 stars because of the service. We ordered some salads, lobster bisque, and bacon which were all great. For our main course we had two 4 lb lobsters, a filet and NY strip. When the waitress was taking the lobster claws out she got it all over my husband, all over my drink, even the walls. I was like woah!!! She didn't even apologize. I thought it was a joke! Normally they take the lobster and prepare it table side, not reaching over and getting it all over guests. For sides we had creamed spinach and garlic whipped mash, both delicious. For dessert chocolate cake and cheesecake were pretty good but nothing to write home about, normally get the key lime pie which is a lot better. But regardless the food was great as usual. The staff on the other hand definitely has gone down in service.
Really needed a good New York steak after a week of excellent Florida seafood. The jumbo stone crab claws were amazing! Perfectly cooked, and sweet beyond belief. They were by far the best we’ve had on this vacation. The steak (we shared an 18 oz. NY strip) was melt-in-your-mouth tender...you didn’t really have time to chew the meat before it was dissolving in your mouth. And the doneness (medium) was spot on. Our server was super attentive, and enhanced our experience even more. Plus, we found a very fairly priced Napa Cabernet that was divine. We’re here for another 3 days. We’ll probably go back. Highly recommend the Palm Miami.
Outside of NY this is my favorite Palm restaurant. Somehow the standards are always prepared well here. Although this was not the best experience it did not dim my thoughts on the restaurant. Our waitress was unable to keep up with her station. That being said it is a pet peeve of mine if small sharing plates , silverware or whatever come AFTER THE FOOD! and you wait for it. The clams could have been larger and were served without a spoon for the sauce. Waitress was nowhere to be found so we did without. I have favorite servers there so will ask next time. Food is always very good.
The food was disappointing fish over cooked, veal was dry. No consideration for presentation. Not much variety in a steakhouse so you really have to get your meats right. Too bad because it’s a convenient location and not overly expensive compared to what’s in the Bal Harbour area.
Usually outstanding, but this time when ordering the prime rib - medium rare, the waiter brought out a "leftover" reheated medium to well done slab, that could not even be cut with a steak knife - totally unacceptable and inexcusable. I exclaimed " what is this"? And sent it back, changing my order to a steak. The waiter said that he would get me a new prime rib and within a minute brought out a perfect piece - which probably was my original order and that he and/or the kitchen tried to pass off someone else's reheated reject.
This was totally unexpected from such a noteworthy restaurant and it better not happen again.
It has the ambiance of a classic old school steak house. I ordered a fillet mignon Oscar style. It was a mess. Not well put together at all. One fourth of my steak was undercooked. Neither the waiter nor mgmt did anything to improve things. The tonic for a gin&tonic comes in small small mini bottles which is great. It was alot of money for so so food and service. Hopefully it will be better next time.
The manager Michael treats new customers as second class citizens. He is rude over the phone and rude in person. Awful , nasty attitude.
Our waiter Fidel was extraordinary, the food was delicious.
Just Michael is a no,no!
Corporate office should send him to have a behavior modification course and hopefully, the hospitality bug will come back to him.
I was delighted to return to the Palm after a long hiatus. The Bal Harbor location retains the club look that Palm is recognized for and the dining experience was top of the line . A giant Shrimp Cocktail, a 22 oz. Bone in Rib Eye with sides of fried onions ,cottage fried potato chips and sauteed spinach all added up to a fabulous steak house experience. Lobsters to be shared up to 4-5 lbs always available and will get us back for another visit soon.
Hello Palm, Goodbye other choices.
How long has The Palm been around? As a privately held establishment? A really really long time! Nothing is more reassuring or comforting, as is eating in an establishment that I used to eat at, as a young whippersnapper with my dad and uncle, and now, returning to experience the same dedication to service and quality. Thanks to The Palm family!
The meal and the total experience was excellent. The service from our waitress was outstanding and the Porterhouse Steak that we ordered was one of the best we ever had. All of the side dishes from the onion rings to the creamed spinach were excellent.
The desserts of chocolate cake and small donuts were extremely good.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
