The Palm Los Angeles Ratings and Reviews
After a bit of confusion as to where the valet parking was versus the entrance to the Palms, we were received warmly. The steaks, Caesar salad were perfect. The service/attentiveness was excellent. The only part of the evening that I did not feel fit was the charge for the valet parking.
Have eaten here many times & been happy with the food.
This time the food was fair at best.
The four LB lobster was at best 2lb
The porterhouse for two was very tough- cooked medium
The New York was also tough & lack flavor
The 1/2 & 1/2 was as always
Tough night at the DTLA Palm
Not very impressive; we expected more. Everything was OK; certainly not outstanding.
Twice, Spouse had to battle to keep plate with food so it could be finished - appetizer plate and main dish! This should never happen!!
Malaty (server) was pleasant but check was not accurate.
The Palm is great restaurant for good food and fun before a game at Staples or a concert at LA Live. It is expensive so be prepared to spend at least $100/head if you are going to do it right. I highly recommend the Palm for a convenient and fun time before the game/concert.
The Palm never disappoints! They have been our favorite steak house/restaurants since I met my husband 26 years ago. ALWAYS the best food..never a bad meal here! Service is spot on and we look forward to our dinners as often as possible wherever we are that they are! Love The Palm!!!
Not the standard of the other Palm restaurants (I have been to a few). Did not have attentive service, our order was wrong in 3 different ways (not at all a complex order/ i.e. Straight off the menu). They were out of creamed spinach, which was a bummer. We also caught a strange amount of attitude from our server. Food was overall just okay, steaks were good, lobster was overcooked and dry, whipped potatoes were undercooked (had hard potato chunks in them). The place was filled with people coming from sporting events wearing Jerseys, shorts, hats, etc. If you are looking for a prime steakhouse in the area, try somewhere else.
I ordered a medium rare steak and another person at our table ordered medium. The restaurant mixed up our orders (this is the second time in as many visits that this has happened). In addition, the "medium rare" was very "rare."
My husband ordered the tuna - completely uncooked and unacceptable. Was supposed to be medium rare.
The bread service was run of the mill, no special breads and no explanation about what was in the basket. The waitress was very good. The food service was bad.
A $400 dinner that was underwhelming. They won't get our business again - we will try Flemings around the corner. Shame on us for giving The Palm a second chance. Two strikeouts - there won't be a third.
Service by Marietta was impeccable. However, the ambiance was rather gloomy, probably on account that it was early in the evening (6:00 pm). As far as I could see, there were only two more tables occupied during the time I was at the restaurant. My steak (18 oz NY) was overcooked and rather dry, although the 1/2 3 lb. lobster was excellent. Although I have been a loyal Palm fan for many years, I am beginning to develop a preference for other chain steakhouses, such as Morton's, Ruth Chris or Wolfgang's.
great place, arrived a little before our reservation, but was seated right away. very quiet, had a wonderful shrimp cocktail, wife had the filet, i had the halibut. We shared the cream spinach. All the food was great. server very attentive. would come back for a special event.
A very disappointing meal. This was their Lobster Day Special, but the lobsters were pre-boiled and then grilled to mask the assembly line preparation. My wife and I have always felt lobsters at the Palm were the gold standard - this did not meet or come close to their usual preparation. I have been going to the Palm (in various cities) since 1966, but felt very let down by this meal. Additionally, there was almost no dressing on the Caesar salad, and the famed onion ring/cottage fries loaf was lukewarm when served.
Service at the table was good, but I don't believe they ever got the application of gift cards our friends had applied correctly.
We had an early dinner so there was few others the restaurant yet because of the staff it was plenty loud. They must have been having a great time because I was not offered a 2nd beer after finishing my first (not that I wanted one) but we also never got a refill on waters! The food was high priced but no where near expectations. I received a rare steak after ordering medium.
