Great the waiters We are very knowledgeable about wine and food
As always, the steaks are fantastic. Menu limited still. Service top notch. Just supporting The Palm!
First time out as a family to celebrate Father's day during the COVID-19 crisis. Restaurant practiced social distancing between diners and sanitizing gel was readily available upon entering the restaurant. Due to limitation of diners inside, size of service staff was small which reflected in the slow service. Food was excellent, overall experience was satisfactory.
It was Father’s Day! It was different due to the pandemic no bread served but overall it was a very nice time with my son.
Father’s Day dinner
This was a very disappointing experience at The Palm. We’ve been dining at all of their locations for 30 years & looking forward to celebrating Fathers Day. Their menu was significantly reduced & prices for lobster higher than normal. They should warn patrons when making reservations.
I found out the Palm has been sold.
The reopening looks to be pretty chaotic. Would recommend waiting awhile before going.
Just opened after Covid. I think they covered all safety concerns and the service and food was still amazing!
although it’s post COVID-19 era, we were seated but had to wait for 20 minutes before the waiter came and 48 minutes before our orders were taken.
The soup was cold and the bread was burnt. The maitre d never came over and asked us how are food was. Maybe it was too soon for them to open up after been closed due to Covit 19, but the lobster was good. I love the Palm but I was a little disappointed with the food and the service. The server had on a face mask but it was never covering his nose and mouth. Now I have to take my boyfriend out again to celebrate his Birthday again.
Even with the Covid 19 quirks, dinner was enjoyable as usual with the Palm. Though not directly the Palm problem, but the valet was closed and we needed search out alternative parking. With all that was going on in downtown and with the world, it was refreshing to finally have them open for a birthday celebration. We hope that the things return to a form of "normal" and the summer of lobster special might be offered by the end of the summer and we will just have to return for another dinner soon.
Daniel , one of the best services I’ve had !!!
Great steak and lobster. Carl was a phenomenal waiter.
First meal out of lockdown!!! The best choice fasho 💯
Loved the Lamb chop but only got 2 small pieces but very good. You would think for the price a 3rd piece would be in order.
An incredible meal. The NY strip a la might be the best steak I have ever had. A bit pricy but you can taste the value in every bite. Second time there and we’ll go again soon.
We dined early (5:30pm) on a Sunday following a Lakers game and were somewhat surprised at how empty it felt. To be fair, this was during the Corona Virus crisis. However, our food and service were very good as we expected. Nothing overwhelming or unusual to report. I feel like steakhouses are very similar. This one seemed to have a nice variety. For example, my wife enjoyed the veal marsala. However, I found the room to be somewhat dated and old school. The overall quality was good, but at steakhouse prices. I would return.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal at the Palm Los Angeles... Fantastic steaks and great cocktails.
Too loud, seating was awkward and very not private, waiter did not come by to refill drinks enough.
It was my girlfriend’s Birthday and it was Ana amazing dinning experience with great food and atmosphere
Excellent business lunch in a quiet, classy, clubby space. Good food, attentive service, reasonable value for the setting and food quality.
great service, great food, great ambience!! The food was superb!!!
Had good service and food options and challengers everything worked out great
We were seated at the time of the reservation. Service was great, attentive waitress, very nice. The food was very good.
Only disappointment was that my wife wanted the Braised Short Rib for her main meal. Waitress returned to tell us they had run out. So she ordered a Filet Mignon steak that was very good!
Overall a great dinner experience. We will go back.
Had a quick dinner here on a Saturday night while visiting LA for a convention. It is very close and within walking distance to the convention center/ staples stadium. The menu is typical for a steakhouse, although I found it limited if you do not want steak. The dining room is a large open room that was rather noisy, although not unbearable. Service and food were good, albeit nothing exceptional. My spouse had a tender filet with lobster truffle butter. It was cooked perfectly and was very very tasty. I tried a pasta dish with crab and spinach in a light lemon-butter sauce. It was ok, but I would advise sticking with steak in this steakhouse! We had a pumpkin creme brûlée that was good but was served at too cold a temperature, ie flambé on the top but very cold in the middle. Overall not bad if craving a good steak while in LA, but there are definitely better restaurants in the area.
Birthday dinner with friends. Waitress and staff were amazing! Food was delicious and extra special dessert presentation for the birthday celebration. Thank you!
The downtown LA Palm has been "our place" for nearly 15 years - and it's undergone a positive transformation since Dmitri Fagel took the helm as manager. Palm has been part of our family since our roots in New York, with practically every special occasion and gathering being set at either Palm or Palm Too. In fact, there are only four locations we haven't been to (yet). For those that "used to go" to the DTLA location but stopped because there were management challenges, staffing challenges, and ambiance issues - that's ALL BEEN RESOLVED. The DTLA Palm merits (again) consistently high marks for food quality, attentiveness, and service that aligns with loyalty. Go often. Go hungry.
