This was my favorite steak house but the quality Of the food is not the same. A shame.
We love the manager, Leslie, who is very personable and always comes by the table. Unfortunately, it’s obvious that Fertitta doesn’t want to keep this restaurant open. The limited menu, food AND wine is, well, VERY limited. I cannot imagine trying to operate a high end steak house with the wine list that’s available. I think, unless I’m in NYC, there’s no need for me to return to The Palm. Being run by Landry’s is an unfortunate turn of events.
I will recommend because I like the staff so much.
Unfortunately it seems the restaurant was understaffed and service was not as good as usual.
My steak was closer to medium rare than the requested rare and the Half and Half was served barely warm. Again, not up to expectations!
If you are looking for nice outdoor dining, this is not the place. The outdoor area is next to a cigar shop and there is nothing you can do about the nasty cigar smell permeating your nostrils. Not the outdoor dining experience we had in mind.
Excellent service from Ronel felt very safe thank you
Invited in-laws for their wedding anniversary. We ate lunch during Houston restaurant weeks. The lobster bisque was delicious. My sister in-law gave the broiled salmon a "super good" rating.
Good food and service
Everything was wonderful as usual. They had a great live singer in the bar, we first debated if it was live or not and realized it was live and was very impressed. Not too loud and the selection he sang was very enjoyable.
I am so upset at how our experience turned out.
The floor beneath our feet was so dirty. I received a glass of water with lipstick stains on it. I had gnats roaming around our food which was uncomfortable for us to eat around. My steak was medium rare when i asked for medium. overall, i will not be returning to this supposed fine establishment. service was great, but we would have to try to grab their attention everytime.
Went for HRW. My husband ordered the surf and turf, which was supposed to be a filet?!? Not what he got. It was not a filet, though flavorful it was a tough piece of meat with little bits of what i think was lobster on it. I ordered off the menu and my food was wonderful. I had the wedge salad and the shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were HUGE and so tasty. I feel like they brought out the cheaper cut for HRW which to me is disappointing.
Service was good but not up to Palm standards. Had to request amenities that are usually standard. Ie. Hot towel/lemon. Too much like Landry’s not enough like the Palm.
The lobster bisque was some of the best I have ever had. I got a chicken martini which was outstanding. Lobsters 🦞 highly recommended.
We haven’t been o The Palm in years. We took advantage of HRW to take my sister and brother-in-law. It was awesome! The food was fabulous, cocktails were great, and the service was excellent!! My filet mignon was cooked perfectly; everyone’s food was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!!
Great drinks, service, and my filet was melt in your mouth tender. Best lobster bisque in Houston TX and best lemon drop martini too!!
Went during restaurant month. Food was luke warm. No one wants a warm steak.
good dining experience. wait staff was very attentive. we will return
We ordered the NY strip, medium rare. It was grisly with a lot of portions that were unchewable. We should have said something but it was getting late and we were hungry enough that we ate the majority of it. Service was ok. Not stellar; we adjusted for Covid factor in our rating.
We came because my wife wanted the lobster roll. It was delicious. I chose the Grilled Chicken Cobb salad entree, which was perfect. We both had the Lobster Bisque, which was also delicious. We were there around 1:30, so no crowds (only 2-3 other tables occupied). We had a nice, quiet lunch and enjoyed the ambience of this fine restaurant.
We came here for our friend's birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. Will definitely do this again in 1 year.
Lobster was fabulous and the flourless cake (GF) was a huge hit for us!! Will definitely return!!
FABULOUS! I've lived here 11 years and I can't believe my husband and I have never dined here especially since it's been around for years! EVERYTHING was 5 stars; food, service, ambiance! I'm so happy Houston Restaurant Weeks featured this Restaurant and is why we visited. We will be returning very soon and look forward to enjoying some of their regular menu items.
The food was excellent. Had to ask for the Restaurant week menu and they couldnt give us the lobster month menu so I went to their web page.
We decided to try this restaurant during Houston’s Restaurant Week. If you have tried Eddie V’s or Vic & Anthony’s the steak at this place doesn’t compare. The mashed potatoes was kinda bland. The lobster pieces that came on top of the steak was over cooked, causing it to be dry. The lobster bisque was by far my favorite course.
Our waiter was very poor. We waited forever to get service. There was no excuse since the restaurant was not very busy. We also wanted to take our creamed spinach home and he forgot to put it in our to go bag and we had so much leftover 😥
Christian was so enjoyable and an excellent barmaid. She recommended the 4 pound lobster and it was fabulous!
Spectacular!!! And live music was beyond awesome!!!
From the anniversary card on the table to the general manager seating us and finding out that we were all from Pennsylvania, it was a great dining experience. Favorite place to celebrate!
We were placed relatively close to other occupied tables when many were available in the restaurant. On the serf and turf my wife ordered, there was very little surf.
Worth going, SERIOUSLY amazing.
Food very high quality.
Service is the best, very attentive .
Will definitely keep going back .
Kristen was delightful and the food was terrific. It was very nice to go out to the Palm as a way to break our “restaurant fast” from Covid.
The dish surf and turf is kinda disappointing because this isn’t what I expected (half of lobster tail and steak), it’s just one small piece of steak with some lobster meat on the topping. By the way, the chocolate cake is too sweet!
Great service, yummy food. Can't wait to return and eat there again.
This was my 1st time going to the Palms. We have been quarantined for 2 months and just thought we would go out for a early dinner on our anniversary. The restaurant was quite and not very crowded when we got there, around 5;00 on a Saturday. Even though I mentioned it was our anniversary when making the reservation, not once was it acknowledged during our visit. My with ordered the Chilean Sea Bass that she enjoyed, nothing special just OK. I ordered the 14oz NY Strip from the RWM. I was not able to eat even half of it because it was covered in salt and butter.
During these time I'm happy that people are able to work in the food service area, so I did not complain to the waiter, But for a $60 steak I should have. Come on Palms, You can do better. I'm not sure I will return. There are so many good steak houses in town.
Great food, great service, a little on the pricey side.
Delicious lobster dinner!!! Good social distancing in restaurant.
Great birthday dinner.
Another great dinner at The Palm... we love this place and they didn’t disappoint! Had the King Crab legs for the first time and they were wonderful!
LOVE this place! Would go every weekend if I could! :)
Went for the 4 lb lobster special. There was no way that the lobster weighted 4 lbs. The lobster came split in half.....my claw was half the size of the portion. Service was slow. I make a better lobster at home.
