The Palm Houston Ratings and Reviews
I thought my NY Strip was a little chewy but the flavor was wonderful. The filet my wife had was excellent. Sides and dessert were great too. I only gave 4 stars because I had been told it was the best steak in Houston, and I didn’t find it better than the place across the street.
Thanksgiving prix-fix turkey dinner. Reasonably priced but just so-so. Lobster bisque promised pieces of lobster meat but just a thimble sized portion. Turkey was okay, dressing okay, mushrooms excellent. Cheesecake on the dry side. Service good despite getting our order mixed up, was fixed quickly. I have been eating here for more than 30 years and have always enjoyed it. Next year I’ll order a steak.
As our house was still recovering from Hurricane Harvey flooding , the fixed price special Thanksgiving Menu seemed like a good idea, $56 for adults, $24 for children. The lobster bisque, course one, was tasty but contained less than 1/4 teaspoon lobster, portioned out on the bowl prior to the waiter adding the liquid tableside. Course two, the turkey, gravy, one flat ice cream scoop of dressing and sweet potato mash, plus 1/4 cup of cranberry sauce. All food plated together Luby's Cafeteria style. My plated food was the same as my 3 children and husband. Course three, pumpkin pie slice. Our waiter, friendly enough, disappeared after first 15 minutes. never saw him again. I walk over to another waiter in dining room, begged for service. No, the restaurant was not crowded. I did call the restaurant several hours later, spoke to manager who would "investigate this", 24 hours still no call back. Well, atleast the cocktail was good, $288.00 for food including tips to two waiters.
A perfect location to impress business clients and friends with great food and excellent service. Our meals were wonderful as always. The lobster was especially outstanding and with our waiter performing all the hard work on cracking the shell eating was made simple!
Server and staff efficient and courteous without being overbearing. Leisurely dinner and tasty. Enjoyed calamari, kale salad, crab cakes, bacon appetizers. All very fresh and tasty. We all had filet mignon which was great. Deserts of carrot cake, cheesecake, flourless chocolate cake and donuts. Nice. Had a great Malbec with dinner.
One filet was not prepared as requested but management made it right.
Best part of evening was the service. Loved the atmosphere.
We went for my birthday dinner. We were able to go during the last weekend of Houston Restaurant Week. Service was wonderful! The manager came by and made sure we were taken care of. I don't usually drink but he offered to have something made to my liking so that I could enjoy a drink for my birthday. When they realized they had run out of the bread pudding we ordered they were quick to swap it for any other dessert. Everything was delicious. Great way to start off a birthday celebration.
The food was very good and the waitstaff very friendly and helpful with choices. We were celebrating birthdays and were give an after dinner complementary drink as well as special attention. We enjoyed the Restaurant Weeks menu plus two sides. Al in all a very enjoyable evening.
I reserved for our 23rd anniversary and they didn't even acknowledge our special day. They also didn't offer the menu for Houston restaurant week. We had to ask for it. Was very disappointed considering I had better experiences in the past.
Summer Lobster special is the best!!! We got a 6# - huge & cooked to perfection!
The salads are amazing. That could be a meal & the dressings are so fresh & full of flavor. A little goes a long way. You can leisurely enjoy you salads - they don't rush you & bring out the lobster too early. Attentive service!!!
The place is noisy - but the bar is not as crowed so that helps.
Sides are all great - too hard to choose your favorite. Wish the summer special was all year!!
Came here for my Wife's Bday both times. Been here both times for the 15 July to 15 August Lobster Deal 4 lbs for $99. Both times, hands down the best and most delicious yet simple lobster we had!! Will come back next year too! If you haven't tried it, must try! It's definitely pricey but if price is not an issue, you must come to this place.
