Great steaks, lobster and businessmans lunch......
Always a great choice for outstanding steaks and lobster!
Food was not up to our expectations.
The waiter insisted on shaking everyone's hand at the beginning and end of dinner. How many others did he shake and how many were sick? I don't thinks it a good practice
Business meal, service on point, Marcello our server 5 stars, food amazing.
Food, service, and the experience was terrific! Best lobster in the city!
Birthday dinner was good!
The Palm always treats us like family. The service and food was spectacular. They timed the appetizers, entree and desert perfectly.
Great service and great food!!
Our evening did not start too well. We arrived at 6:55pm on Saturday evening, five minutes ahead of our reservation. The hostess was no where to be found, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. There were 2 other couples standing around waiting for her, too. She appeared about 7 minutes later, took our name, said we were "checked in", and that she would let us know when our table was ready. Same story for the other couples. Then she should stood there appearing to look at her computer screen while we stood there for another 5 to 7 minutes. The restaurant was darn near empty, all the tables were already set up and no one was leaving, so there are only two apparent explanations for leaving us standing there for nearly 15 minutes: (a) they do this on purpose to encourage you to have an extra drink in the bar; or (b) the hostess is not very good at her job. We had no where else to go for dinner at that late time on a Saturday, but we were about 60 seconds away from walking out anyway when we were seated. The food was pretty good, not terrific, but certainly acceptable for a high end restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, but my steak, ordered medium (supposed to be pink in the center), came out well done (brown throughout). They handled it well -- they replaced it and comp'd it. My wife and I used to go this restaurant frequently, but have lately been going to other steak houses (eg, EddieVs, Steak48, Vic & Anthony's, Flemings, and recently Maestros). Assuming someone explains to the hostess that you shouldn't leave people standing around for 15 minutes for no apparent reason, the Palm is a solid choice for a steak or lobster. But it still comes up a little short relative to the other steak houses we frequent. We probably won't go back again for a long while.
The food and the service were memorable. It was a great Valentine's experience, especially with the waiter cracking the lobster for my wife!!!
Always a great visit , Great atmosphere , Great Service !!
Romantic Valentine dinner. As always, it was absolutely wonderful!
Excellent! The food was perfectly cooked & seasoned! Pulling up we were a little worried we had over dressed for the occasion (valentines) but once we were inside it felt very quaint & fancy. Made us feel like someone important! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. & I will definitely be coming back for our next night out on the town!
Thank you The Palm for making our Valentines so perfect!
Everything was excellent!
My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary at The Palm. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. We will definitely return. We highly recommend it!
Pricey, but that was as expected.
Overall, great place. Great atmosphere. We weren’t crowded or too close to others, but it was quite noisy. Not a “quiet talk” kind of a date place.
Portions were large. Sides should definitely be shared. A little too pushy with their wine club but some people might want that so you never know.
Love the Palm but the waiter was not attentive. Asked for lime slices, never received them, neglected our table in terms of checking on us, requesting items and had to ask for the check, etc.
Love the Palm but this experiemce was less than desired especially for the price!!!
The Palm in Houston never disappoints. Food, wine, staff and kitchen are always world class and friendly. Love going there after traveling overseas in order to appreciate the best dining in the World.
Food and service were both just okay. Filet was overcooked and not tender. Our server, Jeff, was super personable and nice, but obviously had too many tables to worry about, as service was slower and slower as the night progressed and the restaurant got busier. It also got super loud as the night went on, to the point that we were practically shouting across the table. We didn't complain, but the manager must have realized, as he brought me a glass of wine on the house since we were waiting for our drinks for so long.
Overall, I'd recommend the Palm more for lunch than dinner!
We ate at Brenner's Steakhouse the night prior, and the service, food and atmosphere put the Palm to shame!
Worst service I have experienced in a very long time. Was more like self serve given we had to ask for whatever we wanted. Unfortunately we had to involve the manager and it was a birthday dinner.
I n m opinion is not good for the value, and located lin front of a bus stop.
Eaten at the Palm several times. Food was exceptional as always, service was the worst ever encountered at any restaurant. Restaurant was less than half full, so no valid excuses.
Food is great and everyone is friendly and attentive.
Great service and great meal.
Fabulous lobster and great service - always a special place to look forward to.
It was a pleasant experience with good food and good service.
New Year’s Eve with family. It was great!
Excellent lobster. Prices are on the high end but well worth the cost
This restaurant was amazing. I booked this restaurant for my parents’ anniversary. They absolutely loved it. The food was delicious. I’d go there everyday if I could.
Great food, great service and a great time. We had the calamari and the clams casino to start. Both were fabulous. Then everyone had lobsters for their entree. I recommend going for the 4 lb lobster. Those seemed to have the best claws, the 3lb claws were a bit small. We also all shared a ribeye and the hash browns and spinach. Delicious! We had not been to the Palm since they renovated and so glad we did. We will definitely be coming back.
We went on Christmas night which is always a tough night to go anywhere with the limited Options that are available. This night showed Why the Palm Is so far and above over all of its competition for steak houses in Houston. Though there were some menu items that were not available The food was excellent well presented and served professionally and competently. Everything ordered was cooked to perfection maintaining the same consistent quality that has long become a trademark of the palm.
Our experience at the Palm was so bad that I would give zero stars if I could. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had since moving to Houston four years ago. We had a reservation for dinner on Christmas day. They left a message for us the day before to confirm the reservation and I called back the next day, several hours before our reservation time. However, when we arrived, the hostess told us that they hadn't held a table for us; they had basically cancelled our reservation because she said they had left us three messages to confirm the reservation and we never called back. Our phone showed one call from them, and I did call back! We told her this but she was very rude and had quite an attitude and said that they still didn't have a table for us but that they'd try to seat us shortly. The restaurant wasn't full; we saw several tables open. We waited for awhile but no table and my husband went to ask her how much longer and she got very angry and belligerent and said that if he was going to complain that they wouldn't have a table for us at all and that we could leave if we wanted! She was quite rude and unprofessional and we would've left except we would've had a hard time finding another restaurant on at 7 pm on Christmas day. Eventually she seated us in an almost empty back room. Although our reservation was only for 7:00 and we were on time many of the items on the menu were no longer available by the time we were seated. The waiter was kind but the menu choices were limited and the food we got was OK but hardly worth the price tag. We won't be returning to the Palm.
Houston location - This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. On Christmas Day, after sitting down and ordering (45 minutes after being seated) we were informed that they were out of all steaks except the New York strip. Nothing else was available at a steakhouse at 6:30pm after having a reservation for a month. Asked to see a manager and nobody came to talk to us. Paid for our drinks and left! Worst experience and will never eat at any Palm location again
We go to The Palm every Christmas evening - it is our tradition. While our meal was good, it was probably the worst meal we have had there. At 6pm that night, the restaurant was out of at least 4-5 entrée options. We ordered a 4lb stuffed lobster which was delicious. My steak was cooked correctly but was very dry as it had been sitting up in the window under heat lamps for some time (I know this because our server told us our food was up ready for her to bring to us, and it didn't come out till approx. 10 minutes later). Sides were ok - we had asparagus and au grating potatoes. The restaurant was extremely loud and took a while to get our drinks and food. Our service by the waitstaff was overall though very good.
No server came to our table for 25 minutes after we were seated. My steak was raw in the middle, even though I ordered it medium. The crab cakes did not taste good. For a meal that cost close to $500, we deserved better. An overall fail.
Nice Christmas lunch with my wife on the way to see my in-laws
I had never been to the Palm before. My Mom used to go there often and raved about the place. I did not connect to her appeal for your place. Way overpriced for the not so unique menu.
We went for Christmas and the service was excellent but we didn’t care for the steaks. But we are glad to have tried The Palm because it’s been in Houston for so long.
