The Palm East Hampton
We went to celebrate our anniversary in this restaurant, and I mentioned it during reservation. It was not acknowledged by the restaurant at all. Decor of the restaurant is simply nonexistent with the exposed water pipes on the ceiling. Service is not matching with the status and prices of this restaurant: we had to pour our wine, our water glasses were not refilled. Our server did not asked even once how we liked our food, and it was not because he was very busy: we came at 5:30 pm and the place was almost empty.
As usual, bread basket was brought to the table and the only tasty thing in it were packaged bread sticks, the bread could've been eaten as a desert, so sweet it was. We did not complain about it but when at the end of our dinner we noticed that two ladies at the table next to us enjoyed pumpernickel so fragrant that we could smell it, I asked our waiter why we weren't served this bread. And his answer was the most ridiculous we ever heard: the ladies asked for it, and we did not. The bread is not on their menu, how we should know to ask for it?! Though he offered to us to take it home, we refused.
Now about the food. Unfortunately, couple of weeks ago we ate at Peter Luger , and our memories of that meal were still fresh. We ordered thick cut bacon and NY strip and comparison was not in Palm restaurant favor: bacon was too fat, and steak too tough. Baby kale salad was the only tasty item, because duck fat roasted potatoes were quite mediocre and 7 layer chocolate cake was nauseatingly sweet.
We did not give up on all Palm restaurants, we hope that there are some of them somewhere that match the reputation of the brand.
The food and service was excellent. Rafael was terrific! Looking forward to our next visit.
Very busy but that did not effect the food or service. In fact we had the best waiter ever!! The most attentive! He would be great to train waiters anywhere. His name is Dylan!! He made our evening.
Great as usual.
Birthday dinner for my husband’s 68th. We always go to the Palm in EH for this occasion and it never disappoints! Food is delicious, service is professional and friendly, and a wonderful chorus for happy birthday! Perfect!
Party of 6 adults - seated at a booth meant for 4.
Uncomfortable, and seated next to a table of 15 incredibly loud people A party that size should be seated in back room, not in the main dining area.
Good food. Not as good as years ago.
Portions not generous for the price
Noise level high. Not able to talk at table
Been to the palm several times and it has been better. Service was weak and disappointed in size of the lobster ordered the four pounder and got 2.5/3.
The Hamptons in August. We arrived shortly after 7 PM. Our dinners were served shortly before 9 PM. Food as usual first quality.
Great food. Very noisy. Staff was not as attentive as the usual Palm. I would go again.
Best Steakhouse in the Hamptons
Usually enjoy The Palm, but the steaks were very very disappointing this visit. Both over cooked and dry and just not delicious. I called the next day to inform them but nothing offered. For the price it should have been way better. Disappointing.
The best food in the Hamptons hands down!!!!
We went for a birthday, reservation was 45 minutes late, the service was terrible from our waitress as she did not check on our table for about a 35 minute stretch, our dinner took 1 hour to arrive and the lobster was dried out. Even the woman who was clearing the tables commented on where in the world our food was. The manager was very nice and took care of the whole check, it seems like they just forgot about our table. Not a good way to celebrate a birthday of a friend who recently lost her husband. The atmosphere was great though and it seemed like everyone else around us a great food and service. They possibly just dropped the ball on us.
Love coming here every time! Delicious food, cocktails and great ambiance. Thank you!
One of our favorite places to go for a special occasion.
Accommodated our large party of 7 on late notice at end of night! Much appreciated and Great Good and Service!
Everything was great except my pasta rigatoni was alittle hard and on the menu the dish said Heirloom tomatoes it was cherry tomato’s and poached garlic I saw no garlic but tasted good.Friendly staff made me feel welcomed dining by myself and the ambiance had a romantic setting . Very nice shopping district neighborhood .
Our server Dylan was fantastic and the food was excellent! All around a wonderful dining experience...we will definitely be back!
Saturday night at the Palm in East Hampton is a scene of the rich and famous. The food is great and the service sharp but having been to many Palm restaurants around the country, this was my least favorite.
I realize this is primarily a steakhouse, but for a restaurant of this standard that does choose to offer seafood and other items on their menu, they should be offering a much higher quality product. My husband order the filet mignon, which he was pleased with (while not the best he has ever tasted, he wasn't unhappy). I do not eat meat. We chose this restaurant because they had a varied menu. Bottom line... they are not purchasing quality seafood and therefore, should not offer it. I ordered Chilean Sea Bass. The may be the only time I've ordered Chilean Sea Bass in a quality restaurant that we completely flavorless. I can't say it was the preparation because it was just the poor quality of the fish itself. The Manager did come right over to offer me something else, but the problem was in order to have something else, it would take 15 min. which would mean my husband & I wouldn't be eating together...or may husband probably wouldn't eat until I received mine and then his dinner would be cold. In this situation they should have taken both dishes back. Instead, they told me they'd bring me an appetizer which would be a quick fix. So, instead of a main course, I had to settle for an appetizer. And sure, they did not charge us for our coffee or the absolutely horrible piece of flourless chocolate cake, (which I would have sent back but the meal was already ruined at that point so I wasn't about to argue about that) but, for the price of the rest of the meal, coffee & cake was hardly enough. I'm not sure why this restaurant has such a draw. The decor is outdated and just old, the bar is the same and extremely cramped. It's just not worth the price you pay to dine there. Sorry.
I gets redundant writing the same review everytime we eat there. Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous
Simply delicious foods
Simply the best food and service
Sorry I live the Palm in the city and used to
cramped tables but this on top of no service was not worth 100 a person better places in Hamptons for the money
Birthday dinner for my nephew. Always reliable for special occasions.
Food was excellent. Service started out well, but it got poor after we received our entrees. Dessert took too long after ordering and one in our party ordered a glass of wine. We were told that our waiter needed to put in the order for that. Despite the busboy following up on this twice, our waiter never showed up to take our order. We asked for the check and left. I doubt we will return. This is unacceptable for an expensive upscale restaurant.
Dessapointing food. Extremely noisy.
Nor worh thw money.
Great Always a great experience
Fantastic! Food and service were truly outstanding!
Service was really slow. Food was just ok. Overall, disappointing.
Food is amazing, service is very good and the staff very nice. The noise level is the only drawback
The Palm is still the best place for a steak and old favorites like wedge salad or Caesar salad. I always have to get the Half & Half as the potatoes and onions are too good to miss. A bit noisy and service is variable, especially in the summer.
Felt a bit rushed... through dinner ... food was good but not great for the price ...
Ambiance was excellent...
Every time we go, it's the same, great food , great service, can't you guys for once make a mistake!!
My friend and I shared a 4 lb lobster which was so over cooked. We were very disappointed.
Great service. Wonderful time. Delicious meal. We look forward to coming back soon!
Food was good, was very slow on not too busy of a night. Spent 3 hours at the restaurant in total and the group badly wanted to leave
Palm always great! Food, wine list and atmosphere wonderful. We dine at Palm often, East Hampton a favorite.
