Andrew and Sheila are always welcoming when you come through the door. The steak and sides are delish, and your waiter always cracks your lobster so that you don't have to wrestle the seafood in your white pants. Fun to people watch and wonder who is sitting next to you that is obviously famous, and you remember seeing them in a movie but your forgot their names. Since they don't take a reservation for two, no worries. Sitting in the bar area and watching the latest sports final is always fun. All in all, a great evening.

We are eating at the Palm once or twice a month since the summer crowds are gone. Food and service are consistently excellent, while so many other restaurants in the neighborhood disappoint. We shared both a three pound lobster and their signature Gigi salad as these are our Palm favorites. We love the way we are treated here

Everything incredibly fantastic from the waiter to the food. We sat at a very nice big spacious table and had the wagyu steak; phenomenonal. Very upscale and a treat for a trip or date night to the south fork. Would love to come back again.

Good old fashion ample portions. Steak was overpriced so had great veal and filet of sole and their special creamed spinach.

The food was excellent....that being said, the restaurant is way too noisy! Could barely have a conversation at the table. (we did seem to be seated by every family with small children)
We ordered sautéed onions for our steak and the waiter clearly forgot to put that in so we had to wait for them as our steak was getting cold.

The food is superb and and always excellent. The service is professional and obliging to all requests. The problem is the closeness of the tables and the noise level which can be overwhelming. Better to go in the off season or really early.

Love the Palm, especially in the off season. We ate there with friends and shared both appetizers and entrees. Three of us shared their “steak for two”and it was more than enough and perfectly prepared. Compared to most of the new restaurants in the area, the Palm gives you a generous portion size in all they serve, including drinks.

As with all Palms, you cannot go wrong if you order steaks; they are the best you can get anywhere. The rest of the menu can be very uneven. The service at this Palm is much friendlier than that of the original Palm and the prizes are higher, but you are paying for very high quality beef, lamb, veal and lobsters.

The Palm East remains a classic steakhouse with top notch food and service. Compared to the NY original, the atmosphere here is more like a comfy country club or elegant B&B. The service is less NYC brash and bossy, and more attentive, inviting and accommodating. When I'm in the Hamptons, I try to have at least one meal here, if my credit card can handle it.

The Palm is one of our local favorites and we eat there more off season than during the summer season. Service and food are always excellent, and now their prices seem reasonable compared to some of the new restaurants that come and go here. New favorite appetizer is their coconut scallops, and last night we shared their NY strip steak, first steak we've had in over a year. It was worth the wait as it was prepared perfectly and more than enough for the two of us.

They also offer two sizes for their wines by the glass, which is a nice touch

Server was excellent and Sheila is always welcoming

This restaurant has always been a standout in the Hamptons. Steak and lobster tail combo deal could not be overlooked. Sides are fabulous and the filet mignon is the most tender and delicious I've ever had anywhere. All selections are simply the best to be found.

For over 15 years, only Garrett has been my man and words can't describe the professionalism, personality, and attention to detail he has provided for every visit. His presence creates an anticipation. There's none like him.

The service provided by Garrett was excellent. The drinks also excellent.
The NY Strip Steak we had was not up to the usual Palm quality. It was. A little chewy. Also as we were finishing our salad the waiter's assistant brought out steak knives. We then asked for space between courses. (Should have done that earlier. When the steak came out 15 minutes later (appropriate space) mine was at room temperature which essentially meant out food had been sitting for 15 minutes.) Finally one of the people sitting at the next table was loud and talked a lot. We thought about saying something but decided it would probably cause a scene, so we didn't.

The restaurant was extremely busy, noisy but to be expected the weekend after Labor Day in the Hamptons. There was an especially irritating group of 4 male diners who arrived that were extremely loud, using foul language and obviously reviewing their golf game antics of the day. There were families with young children throughout this restaurant and someone from the management team should have had a conversation with these diners or possibly moved them to a more secluded area of the restaurant, possibly the Bar area, where their "gym locker" behavior might have been tolerated. We have dined at The Palm's various locations and this particular experience was not favorable. For a well known, high priced steak house I would not rate this evening as even marginally pleasant .

Palm is always consistently good. Compared to so many of the newer restaurants in the area, The Palm gives you both excellent food and drinks and generous portions for the same price

Also both Sheila and Andrew always treat you like old friends or family

We enjoy this Palm when in the area. The food and service is good. However, this time we were unhappy that we had to wait a while with a reservation on a Tuesday evening . They apologized and offered some compensation, however, I would think a place like this would be able to accommodate reservations.

Very loud on Thursday night at almost 9pm. The place was packed so that's a good sign. Food was fresh and delicious. Our table had steak, fish, veal. It was all very tasty. Service was as expected for a crowded night. We were not rushed. The wine selection was good. We did not have room for dessert. Would definitely come back. Pictures are clams casino, coconut crusted scallops, and halibut with lemon spinach very bright and delicious.

Usually the service at the restaurant is second to none. Last night they were a bit off their game. This sometimes happens but it will not stop us from returning .
Our table was in the walkway to the kitchen which made it seem like we were in midtown NYC or the runway of an airport.

First time visiting Palm, and walked away VERY unimpressed. We were staying in Montauk for the week and decided to give it a try. The food was ok, at most, but very overpriced! Two of us, one had a salad, I had a scallop appetizer, I had 9 oz filet mignon, and my spouse had a 14 oz filet mignon--everything a la carte, so we ordered scalloped potatoes ( that came out not hot), and we each had a glass of wine--no dessert. Bill, without gratuity was over $200. I wouldn't have minded the price if we walked out feeling that we just had a great meal--as I said, it was just ok.

Much too much noise of the waiters bustling around… Ribeye steak was fair… New York strip steak very good… Our seats were on the waiters flight path and thus
Made our dining experience not as pleasant as it might have been .

It is a terrific restaurant. Great food, great service, people watching, celebrities, etc. The portions are enormous and the leftovers made 2 additional meals. There is quite a buzz. The wine list is incredible as well and the martinis are gigantic.

Everyone knows that The Palm is one of America's top steakhouses. But the "secret" menu is right there in black and white: the Italian specialties. The Palm began as one of the first "red sauce" Italian restaurants in NYC and has not shed its heritage. The Palm in East Hampton is the best Palm I've been to. Now that the original is closed for good, it is also the most historic (the Inn, after all, dates to the Revolution!).

Overall, I was not that impressed. My boyfriend and I split large steaks all the time. This was first time that they cut it before cooking (which we didn't ask for) therefore basically butterflying a very expensive 14 oz filet. While my smaller piece was good, his was overcooked and tough. This isn't a tragedy in terms of real life, but I was just amazed that a steakhouse like this would have done that. We didn't bother telling the server because he made it pretty clear he wasn't interested in us. Coke was served in a bottle which is nice but when they are hot, the ice melts quickly and the soda might as well have been no-name fountain soda. Just no attention to detail. If I am going to spend almost $250 on a special meal out, the details are everything. We won't be going back. For the price, it just wasn't that good and I feel like I wasted my money.
