It’s The Palm for God’s sake. Just eat there.
Terrible food, terrible service. Brought wrong drink. brought wrong salad. Main course served cold
being going to the Palm East Hampton ny for 17 years it is always great impecable service
After 40 years of going to various Palm restaurants, we has a less than satisfying experience. The Brussel sprouts were mush, the fried onions over cooked, and when the porterhouse for two was served, it was delivered on a dish that had no drippings to spoon over the meat, and the server did not offer to put the first slices on our plates. The meat was cooked as ordered and very good. This was a disappointment with a sizeable bill at the end. Seems things under local control are slipping here.
Always a fun time at The Palm in East Hampton. Good food, service and ambiance.
While the Palm is well known and has a great reputation. We were very disappointed- and here is why. We ordered a 3 lbs. Lobster to go with our 55oz. sirloin. The waiter asked if we would like them to split it for our plates. We said sure that would be nice. Lo and behold all that was left was a half tail each. Both claws and knuckles were completely empty. The removed all the meat for other dishes they serve. When I held up the claw and said what is this -they immediately brought out to "new" claws with partial knuckles. They then gave some BS excuse that the lobster must have been molting- REALLY! I was not born yesterday.
Once again The Palm is outstanding! The food, ambiance, staff and dining room consistently superb! Salads were fresher than fresh, crab cocktail top knotch , porterhouse Devine! Fabulous New Years Eve dinner!
Always reliable and good solid food that you would expect from The Palm. Well run location with nice ambience and is a top spot to dine in East Hampton.
a no-brainer go-to! classic, elegant and never disappoints.
Overall, I did not feel that the $400+ we spent for 2 was worth it. Our server wasn't very attentive and we felt rushed. Had to ask for bread twice. Table service (clearing etc.) was virtually non-existent.
We took home the leftovers. When I removed the 3 cheeses potatoes from the bag, the contents ended up on the kitchen floor. Whoever put the food in the tin container didn't bother to crimp the edges closed - so much for a descent leftover dinner at home.
I live locally and have been to The Palm on several occasions but this was very a very disappointing evening. Maybe a holiday like Christmas Eve just isn't the time to go?
A staple. Food always awesome, service outstanding, environment old house special enveloping.
Great food. Nice drinks. Fun atmosphere for a nice family dinner
Was seated quickly upon our arrival for our reservation. The food and service were outstanding. Filet Mignon was amazing !
The Palm is always the best. Great food, sinful fried potatoes and onion rings, friendly efficient happy staff.
Perfection on every level
Celebrating at The Palm never disappoints.
Our meals were wonderful: service impeccable.
They handled a kitchen mishap on our order very well. Thank you for covering for the delay with a bottle of wine.
Another stellar meal! We love Palm for their simple, but always well prepared, delicious food and top notch service all around.
Just too crowded. Great food as always. Might be best to go early or late. Otherwise the wait and numbers detract from the experience.
We had the best Thanksgiving dinner. Look forward to doing it again next year. Hopefully at a slightly bigger table. But no complaints other than that. We had a lovely time.
This was out first visit to East Hampton and Montauk through the Thanksgiving week. We had a great thanksgiving dinner here. Thank you!
As ALWAYS... excellent! Food is just exceptional and so is the service.
just as good as I remembered, outstanding! Lovedthe visit have been a fan of both NY locations for over 40 yrs.
Andrew and Sheila are always welcoming when you come through the door. The steak and sides are delish, and your waiter always cracks your lobster so that you don't have to wrestle the seafood in your white pants. Fun to people watch and wonder who is sitting next to you that is obviously famous, and you remember seeing them in a movie but your forgot their names. Since they don't take a reservation for two, no worries. Sitting in the bar area and watching the latest sports final is always fun. All in all, a great evening.
Super kid friendly and hip yet classic at same time
Service was outstanding, Food excellently prepared. Our Waiter gave us great selections on glasses of wine . I’ve never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Highly recommend going .
Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. What else could I say!!??
best steak and lobster ever.....friendly and professional staff....restaurant setting within a charming historical hotel that completes East Hampton
We are eating at the Palm once or twice a month since the summer crowds are gone. Food and service are consistently excellent, while so many other restaurants in the neighborhood disappoint. We shared both a three pound lobster and their signature Gigi salad as these are our Palm favorites. We love the way we are treated here
Everything incredibly fantastic from the waiter to the food. We sat at a very nice big spacious table and had the wagyu steak; phenomenonal. Very upscale and a treat for a trip or date night to the south fork. Would love to come back again.
Good old fashion ample portions. Steak was overpriced so had great veal and filet of sole and their special creamed spinach.
The food was excellent....that being said, the restaurant is way too noisy! Could barely have a conversation at the table. (we did seem to be seated by every family with small children)
We ordered sautéed onions for our steak and the waiter clearly forgot to put that in so we had to wait for them as our steak was getting cold.
The food is superb and and always excellent. The service is professional and obliging to all requests. The problem is the closeness of the tables and the noise level which can be overwhelming. Better to go in the off season or really early.
Love the Palm, especially in the off season. We ate there with friends and shared both appetizers and entrees. Three of us shared their “steak for two”and it was more than enough and perfectly prepared. Compared to most of the new restaurants in the area, the Palm gives you a generous portion size in all they serve, including drinks.
As with all Palms, you cannot go wrong if you order steaks; they are the best you can get anywhere. The rest of the menu can be very uneven. The service at this Palm is much friendlier than that of the original Palm and the prizes are higher, but you are paying for very high quality beef, lamb, veal and lobsters.
The Palm East remains a classic steakhouse with top notch food and service. Compared to the NY original, the atmosphere here is more like a comfy country club or elegant B&B. The service is less NYC brash and bossy, and more attentive, inviting and accommodating. When I'm in the Hamptons, I try to have at least one meal here, if my credit card can handle it.
The Palm is one of our local favorites and we eat there more off season than during the summer season. Service and food are always excellent, and now their prices seem reasonable compared to some of the new restaurants that come and go here. New favorite appetizer is their coconut scallops, and last night we shared their NY strip steak, first steak we've had in over a year. It was worth the wait as it was prepared perfectly and more than enough for the two of us.
They also offer two sizes for their wines by the glass, which is a nice touch
Server was excellent and Sheila is always welcoming
The Palm in East Hampton has become our go to choice this summer. It's always reliable and delicious. The service is always professional
