Table cloth was stained and blinds were dusty. Wait staff were amazing, but only one was wearing a mask. Restaurant was extremely loud. Meat was great, except for the tartare which was tasteless. Other than the steak and wedge salad, the food was generally lacking in flavor.
Gigi salad was not what it used to be, but steak, spinach and half&half were as good as the old days.
As a long standing customer of The Palm I have been consistently disappointed since the new owners took over. From the smaller portions, ie half and half was literally half, the Monday Night salad also half size and they were out of one of their best sides, the hash browns!! People come to this restaurant because of the menu consistency - if they were looking for new innovative food they would be going to some trendy spot - it’s the consistency that brings people back - consistency in choices and in product!
Love the poem and the food. The service was excellent. But they wouldn’t delay our reservation from 545 when the dining room is totally empty. We could’ve come an hour later not very accommodating
food is mediocre, service subpar and prices ridiculous
We’ve been going to The Palm in East Hampton for 40 years and the food, service and atmosphere has never been better! The entire staff makes you feel like royalty and Sheila makes each visit feel like we are coming home! Cheers to, hands down, my favorite restaurant on the East End.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Much too noisy! What happened to indoor voices?
Food was delicious! Service was excellent!
Though under new management, which can pose questions, the service and food are still outstanding. They've changed a few items on the menu. No more Veal Parmigiana in a filet. It's now a veal chop, but just as good.
Only constructive criticism - the half and half (cottage fries and onion rings) are still overcooked.
Excellent Food and Service. Loved that they had valet parking as well
A miss versus what is normal. Seems like it was off at the price point. The 4. Lb lobster was not 4, steak over cooked. Seems like they dropped stuff off the menu that were classics. This is the best of the palm restaurants and it was off. Service too was a miss. Manager was working but overall average and no need to run back
The food is always great at the Palm. I like to sit in the bar as there are no bad tables in the bar. For this dinner we were in the main dining room and at one of the not-so-great tables - but it was a last-minute booking so that’s probably why. But the food (steaks and sides) was superb and our waiter, Jared, was fantastic. Key lime pie was tiny but delicious. Wonderful evening!!
Lovely atmosphere. Great food .
All the staff here contributed to such a nice and delicious dining experience tonight. It’s not as stuffy as it’s city version or other upscale steakhouses.
I’ve been dining at this restaurant for years and always love my experience. However, the service could not have been worse and we were forced to speak with the manager. He was helpful but the mistakes and mishaps still didn’t stop. Food was improperly cooked, the full menu was not available , delivery of food was completely off and getting someone’s attention was an exercise into itself. Am hopeful that this was just a bad night but given the price point, zero excuses for what we were dealt.
Bad service. Poor food. The crab cake was inedible.
Just pretty good. Not the old Palm. Lost its cachet. Oh well.
The oysters were tiny and stringy. the service was sub par. glasses not taken away when new ones arrived. took a ling time to get servers attention. salad was not what it used ro be.
Good was awful, signature menu items from decades ago, prepared with Sysco food that was below average. Not what you would expect from an island full of the freshest produce and fish
Awful!! Not the old Palm. Tomahawk steak was tasteless for $119. The asparagus were skinny and also tasteless. So sad after loving this place for so many years
Unfortunately the service was inattentive and the food was subpar. We were unfortunately disappointed with the overall Meal.
Thursday Nite Special was inedible, overcooked and tasteless…and not even a good value!! I don’t understand how you could serve that tiny dried out piece of meat and that old impossible to chew tasteless lobster! Not the Palm that I remember all these years out here in the Hamptons! I feel completely ripped off!
So disappointed returning to The Palm to have such a sad, post-pandemic experience. Both the service and the food have fell off drastically and the prices are far too steep.
Dined on Father’s Day and had the meat special. It was served to me burnt to a crisp. The meat was unrecognizable. My son had the salmon which was dry and tasteless. We have been Palm customers for 30 years. Since Landry’s took over the quality of the food has gone from outstanding to fair at best.
Server tried her best but we had to ask for bread. Bread was always brought to the table without having to ask for it.
Prices are higher than ever. There are no single sides only family size, and the fish offerings are down to two: salmon and Chilean Sea-bass. There are seafood specialties galore; however, it’s slim pickings if you have a seafood allergy.
We were very dissatisfied and feel at a loss since we always looked forward to dining at the Palm.
I have eaten at this Palm several hundred times in the past 35 years. This was by far the absolute worse. The new ownership must be told that they have ruined the gem we all came to love for so long. Sheila is all that is left. Everyone else is gone and the staff is horrendous, at least 10 tables complaining at once, food orders were incorrect, and no management except Sheila. Bring back Andrew, bring back Tomas, bring back the waiters and busboys that were like family to all of us.
Absolutely awful.....it is done....make a rez elsewhere.
Staff doesn’t have it together yet. Service was disjointed. We are accustomed to everything moving smoothly, but they’re not there yet. Dinner came family style - dinner plates later. Spacing of tables was fine. Food delicious.
Super !! O’Neil our waiter was super
Normally I enjoy the palm much more. They were short on staff and the service was slow. We were next to a table of young women Who are drunk and disruptive. The food was OK but nothing marvel about.
Excellent value fir top quality.
The lobster gnocchi had a dearth of lobster. The half and half with shishito peppers only had three peppers. We were a table of 4. Service was alarmingly slow. Bill came before our desert was delivered. The carrot cake ( for which The Palm is famous) was delicious but half the size it used to be. The evening was a disappointment.
The setting inside the palm is lovely and the cocktails were delicious. But the food is simply nowhere near as good as it should be for the prices. The chopped salad we got was wilty and sad, the onion rings stuck together and not crunchy, and the steak unevenly cooked. They need to up their food game in a big way.
Everything was wonderful. Great service, as always excellent food cooked exactly as ordered We had 4 sides for the 6 of us and they were all winners. And we even had someone who did not like carrot cake decide they liked carrot cake.
No bread , until we asked 3 times
No sour cream for baked potato
Anchovies in salad when specifically asked big to have them
Potato served cold, had to be sent back to be reheated
Steak (for 2) was room temperature and about 5 bites per person after removing fat and gristle.
Bottom line, prices are through the roof, service was awful and food was just as bad.
Service was slow and spotty but everything else was superb. The steak, the wedge salad, the side dishes, the drinks, the shrimp cocktail. All superb! Not cheap but overall a wonderful experience, nice ambience. We'll be back!
Was great to be back in The Palm but I felt very rushed by our server to get out of there.
Wonderful as always!!
