Waited over 7 minutes at reception before anyone noticed we were there, Christopher (Asst. Manager) seated us on a dirty and greasy table. Grease and oil on seat got all over my paint and jacket. Asst. Manager gave me his business card and told me to send him the dry cleaning bill, his email will be active for next few days. Found CFO of the company and he also gave a business card and told me to send him the dry cleaning bill. No apologies were made at the time of the incidents for poor service and dirty seating.
They were out of most of the deserts (since it was their last day) ordered chocolate cake, it was dry like a bone.
I have many wonderful memories at the Palm Dallas & needed to visit before the close. My friend had never been, so it was important to me to include her. The only lunch reservation I could get was 3pm. That was shift change, but the greeter (should have gotten her name - very pregnant, & a total delight), & Mike (33 year veteran server) fussed all over us. Our experience was terrific, thank you. I found pics on the wall of folks I've worked with through the years. So sorry to see the Palm leave the West End. I loved your location because it was close to me in East Dallas, with easy access & valet parking. I'm sure that the Palm will find another address in Dallas, & wish you all well. I hope it's someplace that I can get to without a ton of traffic & parking problems. Thanks for 30 years of memories!
My husband and I have been to the Palm several times before. It had always been wonderful. However, this night was terrible. Too loud, lousy cooking, and out of our favorite items. There plan to close. I think they gave up and had no will to finish strong. It was a horrible way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Epic fail and bad memories forever.
Steak was really good but the wine was way overpriced. I have dined at better steakhouses with wine that costs half as much. Certainly our server should have informed us of the price of the wine. $21 for a glass is rather steep.
The quality of the food and service has declined significantly since our last visit. But who cares? The resto is closing for good at the end of the month. Good riddance!
I'm sad to see this place filled with such great people, food, and memories....Dallas Palm you will be missed
Phenomenal last meal at The Palm! Service was impeccable and food amazing as always. I will miss this landmark in the West End. Please open another location in Dallas!
Thank You, The Palm Dallas, for 30+ years of great food, great service and priceless memories. Hate to see you closing in Dallas!
The food was amazing as always, service was superior, and we are very sorry this location is closing at the end of the month. This is a treasure among restaurants and such a shame it will be closing at the end of June.
Went to The Palm in Dallas because we've never been and we saw on the news that the Dallas location was closing.
Overall, it was a nice time..much more casual that we expected.
We have loved the Palm for many years! We will miss you!!!
Lacy was great as always. While I did not dine often, every occasion was memorable. Sometimes as a guest of others , i always found the service to be the highlight of my experience. It's a loss for Dallas and especially downtown. Hopefully they will return soon.
Will miss this place. Came here for a reunion of friends at a restaurant we love. Hope it returns somewhere else in Dallas.
I had heard of the Palm for the last 30 years or more. I had avoided it because the one person who praised it so much was such a snooty person from Waco, no less, that I was not interested. When I heard they were closing in Dallas I was convicted for not having given them a try. I thought it was just a steak place and I love Del Frisco so why change, but when looking at the menu and seeing the Italian heritage I had to try it. I just recently returned from a Tuscan/Roman vacation so was glad to see Italian roots. I had the Veal Marsala and my wife and son split the summer lobster. I got no hint of Marsala in my sauce though the mushroom gravy was good. The veal was scant at best for the price. Turns out my son isn't into Lobster so overall was not a good experience for the $200 plus price. I can say I have been though.
Our last dining event before the closing at the Dallas Palm did not disappoint! They finished as strongly as they started when we first came 28 years ago. We had a sampling of every course on the menu including the surf and turf that brought us in for our first meal. They delivered exceptional food and attentive service throughout our evening. They even took the time to help us locate the faces of noteworthy friends on their "walls of fame" for farewell photos with our party. Five star finish!
My wife and I went for the Power Lunch. She had chicken parmesan and I had the fish of the day. Both of our meals were very good especially since they start with the caesar salad. The meal was topped off with their flour less chocolate cake. Our server was really friendly. Overall it made for a very nice lunch.
Goodbye old friend. We always celebrate my birthday here with the $99 Lobster for 2. Lobster was sweet and succulent, as always. The salads were tasty and the Half & Half (potato chips & onion strings) were fabulous. Key lime pie topped off the most decadent meal one could have.
$99 Lobster for two special is my summer treat. The first lobster that came out was very tough, but our waiter brought a new one (albeit a wait). Brussels sprouts were barely cooked (could not get a fork to pierce them) & had to be cooked more as well. A rocky start but all ended well and the staff was gracious after what must have been a grueling Father's Day (non-stop all day, I bet).
We are saddened that Palm will be closing end of month. It's been a favorite of ous for many years. Steaks and appetizers excellent!! Please relocate in same general area in Dallas!! Please don't go too far north!!
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic, as usual. I am very sad that The Palm, Dallas is closing on June 30, 2017, but hope to go to my family's favorite restaurant one more time to say goodbye. I certainly hope that they open, again, in Dallas, possibly in the new expansion in the Highland Park Village. Bob Vonage.
Lunch was excellent and it is a shame that The Palm is closing soon.
It was my birthday had about 15 people. We had a great time
The Palm is a good steakhouse, good wine list, but expensive for what you get.
Excellent staff. Excellent food. Couldn't be better for the occasion
AJ and Raul took care of us for the evening. Great atmosphere. Great attitudes. Wish I had found this gem earlier. Looking forward to visiting the other Palm restaurants.
After 33 years, this location is closing. It overstayed its' welcome by at least 5 years. The food is good, the service is good but the restaurant is in bad need of a good power-wash.
Service was extremely slow
The Palm in Dallas is closing and unfortunately the service and ambiance was not what it used to be.
The veal marsala was terrible.Very minimal flavor and to be honest something about it was bad.Maybe it was the mushrooms. I was sick all day on Sunday. My husband and I were regular clients when Al Beirnet was the manager. I never had a bad meal. We returned when we heard the Palm was closing, however , I was suprised to end up sick all day on Sunday.
We basically went to tell this location goodbye. Sad that it's closing after thirty years and I really don't buy the increased crime excuse, so I'm wondering what the real reason is. But then I remembered why we stopped coming to this restaurant. A small Caesar salad and and adequate piece of grilled salmon with no sides were $50.00. Both were very good, although not exceptional and certainly not worth the price. Very sad to see it go, but maybe it's time.
We really enjoyed our meal and time there!! Our waiter really made it a very enjoyable way to celebrate our anniversary!!!
We were celebrating a gift from our boss, and the iconic Palm Restaurant. The food was amazing, and it was an experience we will always remember!
So sad to know they are closing this great location at the end of June. :( The restaurant, food, and the employees will all be missed.
So sad that this iconic location in Dallas is closing! It is an amazing experience. Recommend coming before the doors close forever.
It was an excellent experience!
Sad to see this ICON of Dallas close after 33 years. Always enjoyed our meals here.
Great restaurant however they are CLOSING June 30th~~VERY SAD!!
Went to celebrate a college graduation. Best dinner ever!!!!! Great wine selection.
Mother's Day and Parents Anniversary
Our waiter, Tomas, was wonderful! We enjoyed his humor and great service! He's also quite a good salesman! Sold two 5-lb lobsters at our table. Chilean sea bass was great as well. Creamed spinach wasn't as good as we've had in the past. Dessert: cheesecake and creams brûlée...can't go wrong with either!! Another nice meal at the Palm!
