The Palm Court at the Ritz-Carlton – The Afternoon Tea Experience

One of the best places to go for afternoon tea with your girlfriends or loved one ! Very good service, and super nice view of the garden. I loved the classical music being played.

Overall, it was very good. The food was so delicious. The only point is that I didn't like was the location change of the afternoon tea and the new setting. I would prefer the one in the website pictures.

High tea at the Ritz was somewhat disappointing. For an upscale hotel we expected more. Food was fresh but a little scant. We go for afternoon tea for the scones. They were tiny, as was the amount of cream that came with them (also not the quintessential clotted cream! ). Will will keep on looking for a more authentic afternoon tea experience in Montreal!

Bonjour, il faut prendre en considération les conditions dues à la COVID-19. C'est surement encore mieux en temps normal.

L'expérience générale était fort agréable, j'y suis allée pour l'anniversaire de ma mère un lundi après-midi et l'endroit était très tranquille. Le service était bien malgré que cela a pris un long moment avant de recevoir l'addition. La nourriture était très bonne et l'ambiance générale parfaite pour ce genre d'occasion.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a Tea Experience at the Palm Court. It was beautiful, we will definitely be back.

Great tea and snacks, great service, bizarre loud jazz music

Went for the high tea experience on our wedding anniversary. We were greeted very warmly and when our waiter learned we were celebrating our anniversary he had a little message written on our platter. The cakes and sandwiches were yummy!

This is a real 5 star level! I will surely come back and this place is highly recommended.

Beautiful experience. Unfortunatly, because of the Covid situation, we felt like we were sitting in a room that is unfinished or as if they are waiting for new fourniture. It was not as beautiful and glamourous as it was before.

A fantastic experience from beginning to end. The server was very friendly and attentive. He took care of our food restrictions and ensured we had everything we needed al the time. Highly recommend!

Just perfect experience. It was very perfect moment

Elegant atmosphere, exquisite little sandwiches, warm and delicious scones, delicious petite fours best Earl Grey tea ever however the service was no where close to where one would expect it to be at "The Ritz”. The waiter was polite, brought our tea and then our sandwiches and then never came back to see if we were satisfied with what had been served or needed more tea. So disappointing.

Very high quality service, and the food was delicious! I would have liked a little more fanfare around the choice of tea (more options, or being able to smell the teas like they do at the Fairmont), but otherwise everything was outstanding!

Our 4-PM sitting was delayed, but happily compensated with a glass of champagne. The tea, food, and service were all excellent; all set in a traditional afternoon-tea environment (i.e., *not* chic modern, like the Queen Elizabeth).

We've enjoyed it so much that we decided to make this a new family tradition!

Where to start? The tea selection was disappointing. We wanted sencha but they only had an option of sencha with fruit flavours which we dislike. The tea went cold very quickly. And they seemed to steep their tea in lukewarm water for their entire selection of tea. I might be wrong but I was under the impression that different teas required different temperatures and steeping times.

The waiter didn't take our coats and we had to sit on them for 2 hours. We later realized all our neighbours had their coats brought back out to them as they were leaving. So they basically forgot about us and let us sit uncomfortably the whole time. The valet service was also terrible. It took them 15 mins to bring the car around to which they explained that the valet never got the call. That's funny, because we watched the front desk call up the garage and speak to someone on the phone and confirm the ticket number. Why lie? The worst was when they expected a tip.

The only saving grace was that the food was delicious. The scones were amazing.

Go for the food, if you don't mind overpaying for mediocre service.

Bonjour, une très belle expérience. Les bouchées étaient délicieuses. Le seul point, qui est personnel, les très beaux fauteuils qui sont trop bas (je ne suis pas grande), de sorte qu’il fallait que je m’assoie sur le bout du fauteuil et n’étais pas dans une position confortable pour manger, mais tout le reste bien apprécié.

Une ambiance à la fois raffinée et relaxe. Nourriture sublime. Personnel d'une grande gentillesse.

C’est une expérience à vivre au moins une fois dans une vie. Nous étions un groupe de femme de trois générations et toutes ont adoré.

Expected much better service. Nobody greeted us upon arrival. We waited several minutes and had to go to the hotel's main desk to ask for someone to seat us. While we were still eating, the waiter took away our three-tier serving plate and put the cake plate on the table. He never asked us if we wanted more hot water for our tea pots. We had to ask for it. High Tea was advertised at $39. Surprise! Tea was not included and we had to pay $14 each for a pot. Ended up paying over $70 for... well, not much to be happy about. The bite size sandwiches and dessert were good, but not extraordinary; however, the scones were excellent.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, never having done the "high tea" thing. We decided we liked it zo much that we would return every anniversary!
