The Palm Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Open Table reflects a kids menu- but restaurant doesn’t offer anything resembling that. Love the Palm but stopped going because of this fact. We tried tonight after 2 years away based on Open Table showing kids options. Instead we spent $19 for a 2 year old to eat buttered pasta and $50 on other kids to eat. I don’t mind paying this for my wife and I but this isn’t realistic. Even Ruth’s Chris and other high end places are starting to offer kids plates.
We were greeted with a warm, friendly smile and hello; seated quickly (reservation) and promptly served water and our server appeared in a few seconds; the meal was delicious and a reasonable portion. Definitely will return and enjoyed the privacy in a large restaurant.
It was my husband’s Birthday and we were a party of 6. My husband’s steak came raw, as did my son’s. After sending it back, it came out charred beyond belief. How the kitchen sent it back out was shocking. The waiter tried his best, but the steak was not edible. He said he would send the Manager over, but he never even came by our table. Sadly, my husband did not eat an entree on his birthday.
My son-in-law’s tuna was way over cooked.
The waiter did send a dessert tray over and they took the steak off the bill. No kidding, it wasn’t edible.
It was not a good dining experience and we will not be going back.
We are originally from Chicago and members of the Palm’s Club. We ate there often, and assumed it would be the same fine dining experience...It was not!!
Fabulous! The Palm never ever disappoints. We were regulars at The Palm in Houston before moving to Asheville and recently, Davidson. The menu is terrific and the food and service are always first class. It is our “go to” not only for special occasions, but also when we want a great steak or fish. Bravo! Bravo!
Went there for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful meal. With them cooking turkeys for so many people you would think it may be a bit dry but to the contrary. Starting with a nice salad which was a nice size and very tasty, the turkey was very moist, potatoes were just right along with all the fixings. Of course we ate too much and had to bring our dessert home. The cheese cake was good but my daughter's has us all spoiled. The service was very good, not rushed and our water glasses were always full and the table cleared as we finished. Have been there before for their steaks and will be back again
We made reservations for 7pm was seated a lil after 7:30. They seated us at a table at the restrooms door! We asked to be seated elsewhere, no one else sat at that table that evening. Our food was not tasty! No taste at all. Our ribeye was over cooked, no premium vodkas (Pinnacle), received Brussels Sprouts instead of Asparagus....not a great first impression.
I have eaten at the Palm Charlotte for years. My wife and I make the drive just to enjoy the lobster and steak. The steaks are always cooked to the right temperature and the lobster is always perfectly broiled! Sides are family style and dessert is always delicious. Drinks are abundant in choice, even on special requests. Joey, the general manager, and his staff are always friendly, accommodating, there to make your evening perfect! Thank you Joey and to your team!
This was a quiet lunch by myself - as usual everything was delicious - I had lobster bisque,
filet medallions, creamed spinach and of course the yummy cheesecake. Always my go to
place when I go shopping at Southpark. Yes it is more expensive than most - the quality of
the food can't be beat. Had enough left overs to have for supper.
The Palm restaurant in Charlotte is a treat. I don't get there as much as I'd like as it's not an inexpensive night. It's a special occasion place. My son turned 24 and I will have my birthday this week also. It's so much fun to treat him to a fabulous lobster dinner. OMG...abandon all thoughts of calorie counting and dive into the hash browns, lobster mac and cheese and the donut dessert. Always love this treat.
Only disappointment I have is that having been a member of the 837 club they've changed the "rules". You used to get a free lobster coupon for your birthday month, now you have to have spent a $1000 in that year to qualify. Granted it doesn't take but a few visits to get to a $1000 but still disappointing that they added that condition.
Food was good as usual, but service was terrible for the money that you pay. We chose a booth in the bar area figuring the Palm would have good service period, but perhaps we’ll stick to the dining area if we ever go back, seems service is usually better there. Compliments to the kitchen though, the prime rib was good as well as the lobster bisque and coconut scallops.
Maitre D sat us at the worse table in a corner of an almost empty room. Never mind the place was half empty. The wine list is very overpriced with wines priced almost at a ratio of 4 to 1. Was able to find a named vineyard Sbragia Napa Cab that was maybe priced 3 to 1. The steak we ordered along with a Nova Scotia lobster was over cooked. The final nail in the coffin was when same Maitre D came back to tell us in an obnoxious manner that we needed to “tone it down”. I have eaten in the worlds most expensive restaurants and I as well as my son and his friend are all professionals. We were behaving in a socially acceptable manner. The irony of it was that there was one other table in the entire room with guests. So yes in an empty room and we are having a good time maybe the people at that other table found us too loud. Unless we sat there quietly I do not see how we could have avoided that. Never mind the fact that after the tip I paid a $650 bill so I ask...I guess we were good enough for that right? It seems to me that this Maitre D made a decision for whatever reason that we were not worthy of his establishment and it started when he stuck us in a corner of a near empty room. It was like saying let me stick you guys back here where no one can see you. Do not really understand.. my leather jacket I had on cost me $3000 and my name read Dr.
On the positive side the service provided by our server and her assistant was very good and she tried her best to make us feel comfortable since she realized how obnoxious this Maitre D was. I have dined in Michelin starred restaurants all over the world and this was a first for me. I will never ever return to The Palm in Charlotte.
I made reservations for a group of five women in my family,we labeled it "Girl's Night Out." It was the most beautiful, fun and pleasant night we've spent together in a very long time, we owe that to The Palm Restaurant. The service was impeccable, our waitress was very professional, attentative and extremely nice ,along with the other staff members. The atmosphere was wonderful the food was exceptionable and the view was spectacular! We will be back and we're recommending The Palm to everyone we know,it's a great place to dine out with family and friends thank you so much for ensuring my guest had a wonderful fun and exciting evening!!!!
