Service was wonderful, for most of the meal. Wait staff got a little lax towards the end of the service, but was very friendly. The sides were delicious, but the steak was just good, not great. The steak had a good bit of inedible pieces and was undercooked in the center. Oscar style was not worth $12; only got a couple small pieces of crab. I would come back and get chicken or seafood and sides.
The staff was awesome, the wine pretty good, but the ahi tuna was dry, medium or medium rare the way like it in the center but dried out around the edges. I am sure other options are really good, like the steaks, and the option of adding a lobster for half the price is appealing if you are hungry enough.
Was very excited about trying the palm for the first time while visiting Charlotte as we are huge steak people. Upon sitting, I noticed that they were doing a special for Caymus by the glass, but when asking the waiter, he had no idea of the special (which he tried to argue with me about). Biggest disappointment was the food was all very bland. The calamari, lobster Mac and even the steak all bland. Not worth the $250 I paid. Will not be back.
Veal parm was awful!!!!! Tough and stringy. They did replace it with chicken and didn’t charge for it. The manager did a great job of trying to make up for the bad food, however the night was ruined.
We had a tiny table in a very busy area of the restaurant. Was always dodging people walking past with or other customers trying to get through. We couldn’t sit and chat for hearing excuse me and pardon me. It was so tight and so loud. Just wasn’t the experience we had previously had. May not go back even though again the manager did a great job of taking care of the food issue.
We happened to be nearby on my birthday in between two movies. The service, as always, was top flight, with a sense of humor. No request was too small, and while we had a time limit, we never felt rushed. We're prior patrons, but hadn't been in a while, so the occasion was well served by our experience.
I ordered the filet, although extremely tender, it was flavorless. I had to search for salt & pepper. We also order the lobster macaroni and cheese, with a $5 upcharge. I was left searching for lobster. I did bring it to the manangers attention and he brought out about 1 ounce of steamed lobster in a bowl. Our waiter was awesome!
We have dined at the PALM countless times and very much enjoy the Charlotte, NC PALM. It's a nice facility with excellent Management and Servers. The food is ALWAYS consistently top notch. While this time (New Year's Eve) was very similar to our previous experiences, it just wasn't quite up to our past experiences. Even though the Management and Staff have done New Year's Eve many times, everyone seemed a little flustered for some reason. I would also add that the wine prices have reached a point to where they simply aren't competitive with other Fine Dining restaurants in the Charlotte (or elsewhere) area. Management should take a close look at this as they are borderline ridiculous.

My husband and I selected The Palm to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. I ordered the 9 oz. Filet Mignon, and it was "chewy"/ tough! I sent it back, and another one was brought out quickly; however it was "chewy"/ tough as well. Very disappointing. How can an upscale restaurant that specializes in steak get this wrong? I didn't bother to send it back, again. Don't think we'll be back. ☹
Very disappointed... Made a reservation for Christmas dinnner. We were on time, were seated, and the waitress told us before she said hello she told us the kitchen was closed. After a tense conversation, she said they would serve us if we hurried.... She promptly told us of over 1/2 of the items on the menu they were out of. Our service was rushed and the server was completely rude to us... To pay for a $350 meal, have had a reservation in prepreation for a special holiday meal, to say I am disappointed is an huge understatement...
This was Christmas dinner, so we expected a crowd (nowhere else is open), but our waiter was surly, and clearly did not want to be working. Only after he came to take our order did he tell us what they didn’t have, which was a lot, bc it was Christmas. The Palm could have done themselves a favor by printing a small enclosure for the menu, informing patrons of the reason and details of their reduced menu, instead of waiting until everyone was ready to order. In addition, the table we were seated at was in need of repair, so there were large “ledges” where plates had to balance. Because of this, a pot of tea was spilled on one of our guests. No longterm damage, but a terrible end to a terrible meal.
Long wait before seating despite reservation and no others ahead of us. Disappointed in decor, lacked "upscale" ambiance that we expected. Waiter was hard to understand. Service was slow although we arrived before peak dining hour(s). Food was very good but vastly overpriced (we both had filet mignon).
