At age the of 20, Chef Rafael moved with his wife to Cleveland, Ohio. His goal was to continue his Italian culinary skills which he acquired in the region of Verona, Italy.
Chef Rafael was introduced to the restaurant industry at a very young age. His grandmother was very well known for her home-cooked dishes. She loved having her grandson with her as she cooked meals as soon as he was able to walk. He was six years old when he first learned how to make homemade pasta and, by age 14, he was ready to embark on his own culinary journey. His first stop was Verona, Italy,which was the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The romantic and rich architectural heritage of Verona was matched by the great culinary venues of that city and Chef Rafael's experience and skills grew exponentially. Three years later, Chef Rafael traveled to Belgium and France where he then experienced cooking French cuisine as well.

The food is always excellent here, as is the service. We enjoy the attention Michelle gives us as a server. Menu selection is good and the prices represent excellent value for the quality of preparation. To us, it's the best Italian restaurant in the Cleveland area. Only shortcoming is the lack of parking spots in their adjacent lot.

Delicious food, excellent service. The chief/owner stop by our table and a complimentary desert was provided to our satisfied party of 6. We are from out of town but will make the trip to visit again.

Our reservations were simple to make and since it had been a few years since we last ate there, we were all looking forward to it. The service was wonderful and the food was perfect. And don't forget the wine!

We absolutely love The Palazzo. The menu is consistently reliable and delicious, and Chef Raphael's specials are always creative and excellent. We've made a point of taking our friends, and they always enjoy the experience. Parking can be problematic, but the RTA lot is always available if need be.

The Palazzo is one of those fine dining establishments where the food is consistently exquisite to the diner's palate-- the house made duck sauce for the glazed duck is piquantly sweet and out of this world.

This place is one of the best places to eat as long as they are offering their standard menu. Holiday menu’s are limited, sub-par, and much more expensive. The standard menu is vast, creative, delicious, and reasonably priced.

Had a table for 8 for daughters graduation. Service was excellent and helped with the celebratory feel. Food was wonderful especially the specials. Prices are moderate and it’s beautiful inside. We will definitely be back.

Prompt courteous and delicious…that is The Pallazo! The menu is full of fresh seafood and scratch made past, plus a few delicious specials to round out the night. I am always amazed every time we find here just how good it is. Our server was Michelle, and she was fantastic. Full of recommendations, never rushed us, service was impeccable. One of my favorite parts of the night is when the chef makes his rounds to see how you enjoyed your meal.

For my money and taste - this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Cleveland!!! The calamari was exceptional - and the halibut to die for!! Service was impeccable and chef Rafael is a gem!!! This has become our “go to” restaurant!!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!!!
