Took my son for his 16th birthday and that was one of the best decisions on how to celebrate a milestone in life. We had an amazing experience. The service was excellent. The food was amazing. I can't wait to go there again and have another special night. Thank you Brenda for an amazing service!!!
We had a wonderful experience at The Palace. We will definitely be returning soon
Excellent for a quiet and confidential luncheon business meeting.
Exceptional service, wonderful food and relaxing atmosphere. This is the place to go for a night out for dining, not just a meal.
1st experience and can't say that I would come back w/ all of the other great fine dining options in Cincinnati. In fairness, there is potential here; but overall the flavor and preparation were off on many dishes. Entrees and 1st course all had issues w/ either flavor or preparation, my wife's duck was served cold but flavor was great, my ribeye was chewy in spots but very tender in other spots; all of the first courses had flavor problems in one way or another. Highlight was the strawberry ice cream sandwich w/ basil ice cream, that was extremely delicious. Overall, I could see how the Palace could be good, but we did not have a good first experience, even our wine was a skunked bottle of wine, it was sour tasting.
Wonderful place to go for a special occasion and very romantic. The staff went above and beyond expectations for any restaurant. The live music was just icing on the cake to the delicious food they prepared. Will definitely be going back!
Great service and great food as always. Our favorite place to eat in the city! The Restaurant Week menu was delicious and perfectly executed.
Great food and service!
What an amazing fine dining experience. The service was impeccable. We bought a bottle of wine for the table and there was sediment in the wine and a piece of cork dropped into the decanter. The wine steward took the wine back, brought us a new bottle and only charged us half price for the bottle of wine because of the inconvenience. The ambush, palate cleanser, and aperitif were astounding little bites. The puffed bread with "fondue" cheese was a nice tart bite. The melon soup with a yogurt sorbet was a perfect palate cleanser after the sherry smoked pork belly appetizer. The center cut ribeye medallions with cherry tart paired perfectly together, and how can you go wrong with an ice cream sandwich filled with basil gelato? Will definitely not wait another 20 years to go back. Great for a special evening out.
A very enjoyable dining experience
My boyfriend and I had an amazing meal at the Palace. One of the best meals we have ever had; the quality and presentation were great. The restaurant staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Would definitely go back for dinner and would love to try Brunch/Lunch.
excellent food and ambiance...thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
Food was very good here. I especially liked the creativity and presentation. However, the service was a bit slow. We were seated right away and given water, but no one came to take a drink order. When we go our servers attention we placed our drink order with our food order. It was a bit odd. they cleared our plates before everyone was finished and our last diner shoved in his last bite as the ice cream desserts were waiting on a tray behind our table. When they arrived we had we like to call ice cream soup. Nothing horrible overall, but I am not sure front house was on their A game. I like what the chef is doing here in getting the food modernized, but the staff needs to catch up to him.
Fabulous! My husband and I went for downtown restaurant week and could not have been happier. The three course dinner and all the extra bites were every bit delicious as the next bite. Brenda our server was fabulous as well! I highly recommend more people to dine at the Palace.
Had a fabulous dinner during restaurant week. The service was superb and the meal was stellar. Highly recommended!
We went during restaurant week with fixed (3 choices) for menu. Excellent menu and service.
Outstanding and exceptional service! True fine dining experience with above beyond hospitality and attention to detail. Food was more impressive than reviews made it sound. A lot of little perks from the kitchen and generosity from restaurant!! I came with a Groupon and there was no discrimination whatsoever. I would easily pay menu pricing in the future! We will be coming back ... thank you so much for a memorable experience!!
Dinner was excellent: An interesting menu, great service, excellent food preparation, excellent pinot noir, all in a lovely setting. One guest thought that her tomato soup was way too spicy, starter, tuna tartare, and my duck breast were very good, and the two gentlemen enjoyed their rib eye steaks. Dessert was superb too.
food was good but limited menu reduces return visits.
Our server was excellent, the whole staff was very friendly. We went for my husbands birthday with some friends and it was a great night.
Have had the pleasure and honor to have dined at the Palace before but this night was special. The chef was ON and was kind and sent a couple extras to our table. What a great treat.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband & my birthdays with our son & daughter-in-law. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent and the atmosphere great. I would highly recommend this for a fine dining experience.
Superb service. Excellent food. I tried things I have always avoided. The course menu was fun. We had a timeline to leave for the opera and they managed it beautifully. Very enjoyable. The piano music from the bar was subtle. Keep up the good work.
The brunch at The Palace was amazing! I ordered the goetta hash--usually places skimp on the goetta, but it was plentiful. I was also able to try the Oscar omelet which was delicious... Just be cautious--it's super rich! The service was great as well; the waiter was very friendly and personable.
Definitely a special dining experience. This restaurant mainly does 5 or 9 course tastings, and it is perfect for a special occasion, especially for someone who is adventurous and wants to try something different. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and loves to answer questions about the food. The menu changes all of the time with the seasons. Not the kind of place you go to every day, but for a truly unique dining experience, I would absolutely recommend The Palace.
Thank you for our wonderful dinner last night at The Palace Restaurant! It was perfect from the beautiful food to the outstanding service. We enjoyed several courses both prix fixe and a la carte plus delicious wine pairings. Every course was timed perfectly and enjoyed. Between courses we loved the tasty amuse-bouches. The pasta was heaven and the rib eye steak was perfection. Thank you to Maitre d' John McLean and very attentive server Brenda. It was a 5 star night out!
The food and service were wonderful. My friend and I had a wonderful evening there as always. I do have a couple of items for feedback. I made my reservation online and received a confirmation. I later received an email reminder. I was then called to be reminded, and was asked to call and confirm. I called to confirm and was transferred to the hotel and the casino. I find the reminder/confirmation practice highly irritating. Also, the valet experience was chaotic and bizarre. My friend pulled up . No one was at the valet stand. Someone finally came and took her key. When we were leaving, a fellow took her payment and indicated he would get the car. He left to assist someone else. We were left standing on the curb. I saw the car a few feet away and we walked back to the valet stand and asked for the key. We walked back to the car. My friend paid for a service we didn't receive.
The Palace belongs on the top 10 list.
The menu is very simple - you can choose between a 5 or 9 course, or a la carte. It's simple one page menu.
Because of that all selections are prepared top notch.
Between course small delectables are brought to enhance the meal.
The simple wine list has reasonable prices for a great selection - if you want to blow it the other selections would be one that any wine dude would want in his or her cellar.
What this all boils down to - great food very well prepared. That's what fine dining is all about.
I think the Palace has one of the best chefs in Cincinnati. The food was outstanding. There is a pre-fixe menu for $75/person and my husband and I tried to get different things. Everything was fantastic. Strongly recommend.
John and Brenda treat us like family and we take the whole family there. We look forward to returning there soon.
