The Pacific Restaurant - Hotel Grand Pacific, harbourside in beautiful downtown Victoria offers a distinctive west coast casual appeal to its guests. With outdoor seating on the terrace, guests can take advantage of the sunshine while they relax and take in some of the picturesque views of Victoria's Inner Harbour.

Featuring Vancouver Island "farm to table" cuisine complimented by an extensive selection of local and international wines, The Pacific Restaurant's menu provides a feast for the senses.

Our West Coast Afternoon Tea service is served from 12:30pm – 3:30pm daily. Our afternoon tea takes its inspiration from our wild west coast while using local, sustainable ingredients and features local organic tea from Silk Road Tea Company. Children's tea menu available. Reservations are required, please note in the comment section that your reservation is for tea and note number of adults and children.

Parking details
We provide valet parking from the driveway at the front of the hotel. Underground hotel parking is located at the Quebec Street entrance, and there is elevator access to the dining room level. The parking charge is reimbursed when the bottom of the parking pass is brought to the dining room and presented before payment for dinner. Street parking is also available.

My boyfriend and I came here for the Dine Around and we got a late seating at a busy time, and while we waited for our table at the bar they gave us a free drink. When we ordered our food, it took awhile for it to come- although my boyfriend and I didn’t mind at all and we’re not in a rush- the manager and waiter would stop by and apologize. When our mains came, the manager came by and told us we had been so patient with the long wait and said our meal was on them and we didn’t have to pay! We were so grateful but not expecting that at all! It was very nice of them. We appreciated it, although to us the wait had not been a big deal.

Our "Tea" at the Hotel Grand Pacific had been something my Aunt and I had really looked forward to as we were spending Christmas in Victoria. We booked for Christmas Eve, when we arrived, we were told a message had been left for me at my "home" phone telling me that Gluten Free was not an option. I accepted that, said it would be fine, we were seated, waiter was pleasant, and the actual "chai tea" that I was served was excellent, with steamed milk, I thought this would be great. But when the "Tea" on the trays arrived, it looked, quite frankly, like it had been "pre-made", not fresh. All of the items on the tray were cold, which scones and croissants should not be, the plates themselves were ice-cold, clearly from sitting in the fridge, and the bread was actually hard on the outside of the was really bad!
We expressed our disappointment to a very sweet waitress, who took it back to the kitchen. We were going to choose something from their regular menu, but decided to just go. Not at anytime did a Manager come and extend an apology to us. We had been so disappointed, and expressed as much, and yet no one had thought to come and tell us how sorry they were, which proved to be even more disappointing. Would not recommend.

My wife and I had a very nice time. The food and tea were excellent. Our waitress was very nice and polite as well as the other staff members. The restaurant was clean and the decor is nice. It has big windows to let in the light. The tables were spaced out enough so you didn't feel crowded.
We would recommend afternoon tea to our friends and family at the Hotel Grand Pacific.

My partner and I went here for high tea. The service was fantastic and the food was great. The server took the time to explain all the food on each tier and how the service works. It was a really fun experience. We both enjoyed it.

The Breakfast was okay. Table service cud have been a little better, Had to ask for everything juice , tea, coffee and for refills. If yr going to serve beans heat and serve them seperatly. do not mix them with eggs or potato. Do them Irish breakfast style. No waffles. no pancakes only french toast. Maybe we got there too late 10.30AM. Otherwise it was ok

I visited the restaurant for breakfast. I was very impressed with how the staff handled food allergies, particularly peanuts and tree nuts. While they have some tree nuts on their menu, I was ensured by one of the chefs that they could accommodate non-contamination for a breakfast reservation. We were able to make a reservation with a note, and they were able to accommodate no problem with very professional service. The food was also delicious, it was a wonderful way to start our day. Thank you to the wait staff and kitchen staff for being so helpful and knowledgeable, and for ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience.

Afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Lovely food beautifully presented. The server was knowledgeable about the tea, which was from Silk Road Teas. Easily the equal or better than the Empress, without the hype or noise. And half the price.

We had High Tea in the afternoon which was so great and enjoyable that we returned that evening for drinks and dinner. The High Tea was absolutely one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The tenderloin steak that evening was superb. Dessert was artistically presented as well as absolutely delicious. At both meals the service and ambiance were superb.

I had not been to this restaurant for a long time so I was excited to go. However, the breakfast buffet on June 11, 2017 was definitely underwhelming! I would not recommend it for any special occasion. It was ok, but not exceptional in any way.

If you're going to have afternoon tea in charming downtown Victoria, the tea service at HGI will not disappoint. In fact, if you're anything like me, you're likely to be blown away. Ambience is cozy and intimate, a great spot for quiet conversation with plenty of room to stretch out. (This is especially hard to find in busy downtown Victoria where restaurants are swarmed with tourists year-round.) This atmosphere allows for friendly and attentive service; the hotel is grand and proper but not pretentious. The Restaurant uses organic Silk Road tea, a local Victoria tea company and community staple. I chose the Earl Grey for my tea pairing and the flavour was unprecedentedly smooth and potent, as Silk Road does not use any artificial flavours or sweeteners [in this blend]. Lastly, I cannot understate the quality of the food - it was truly impeccable. Unlike at the Fairmont, desserts are made-to-order and you can taste the care put into your experience with every bite. The HGI pastry team delivers afternoon tea classics that are all perfectly buttery, flaky, decadent. Pescatarians with sweet teeth (like me) will love this tea service for its 'west coast' menu; the savoury tier leans toward seafood offers as opposed to meat, and the flavours transition lovingly from buttery and rich chocolate to sweet, fruity dessert offerings at the top. You get a 3oz portion of house-made chantilly cream with your middle tier and it tastes like heaven in a glass; you'd be crazy not to finish it. The atmosphere, service, and quality of tea and food together set the stage for what afternoon tea should be: savoured slowly. All for a steal at $44/pp... you really can't go wrong!
