The Ox Barn is a 56-seater destination restaurant under the direction of Head Chef, Charlie Hibbert. Rooted in a passion for the local land, food and entertaining, the carefully curated menus are farm-based and plant-inspired. His team and the gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create his Modern British Countryside fare.

The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.

As ever a lovely experience but I would say that the portion of pea risotto would have been small even as a starter and the iced teas at £11 are a little steep, particularly as it was half ice. The polpette went down very well.

It’s unusual to go somewhere where they get so much right. Food was great and wine bhtbthe service was outstanding. Really brilliant table staffed that explained the menu recommended easily and were just the right amount of attentive - the place is beautiful too. Great ambience and great music - just the right amount of background nice to give it a vibe. Love this place

It's situated in a delightful village, with a lovely garden and surrounds. The restaurant is very pleasant inside, being an old converted barn, it is tastefully converted. The staff are very polite and pleasant. The food for our lunch was unfortunately disappointing. The Starters were minute, and fairly tasteless. The main course also lacked flavour and was only warm when served, there were few people in the restaurant during the duration of our time there, so there was no excuse for a lukewarm serving. For the price charged the food was disappointing. We asked for a salad to accompany the main course, this consisted of a few leaves of lettuce swamped in olive oil, personally I could have done better than this. Given the ambience of the restaurant and location, overall a disappointing experience.

Overall the experience was good, however not to have new potatoes available (on the menu but couldn’t provide them) in the Uk at this time of year was very odd. We had to have chips which was not a sufficient alternative. Other than that the ambience was very nice .

Not just a dining experience! The setting is beautiful the staff (particularly Nick) were incredible and helpful. The food is certainly the highlight, squid, turbot, asparagus it was all amazing! Amazing selection of drinks and cocktails. Cannot speak of this place more highly. It is expensive but for a special occasion (it was our mini-moon) it is nothing short of perfect.
